My iPod nano(7th Generation) is not syncing to my iTunes, what's going on?

I try to connect my iPod to my laptop but all it does is charges the iPod. It's not syncing to iTunes so I'm not able to add any music onto my iPod.

My Ipod nano 7th generation will not sync, I have updated itunes very recently. Everytime I try to sync anything, playlists, music, podcasts, or even photos from my computer, It does not sync. However before It syncs it tells me that I need to authorize my computer so that I can play purchased songs, so I log in with my apple ID and it says that the computer is now authorized but then when I press the sync button again the same message pops up over and over. Can anybody fix this?

yes i have a solution to my problem only because of a recent phone call from apple they were great.......... in the right hand side of itunes my i pod was displayed. click on the ipod symbol........at the top of the page you will see summary,,,,,,music,,,,,,movies,,,,,,tvshow,,,,,,photo,,,,,on this ipod.

My ipod nano 7th generation won't sync ratings to itunes. What can I do?

I have an Ipod nano 7th generation bought about a month ago and usually has no problems.
I've been having an issue with it where it won't sync songs' ratings from the Nano to Itunes. My Ipod is set to manually manage Music and Video. And no ratings are added to the Itunes Music library when I press sync.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?

This is literally driving me crazy.
I spend days, or more likely months rating my itunes library.
I was happy to get this new ipod as it would permit me to finish rating my songs, as I used to with my old ipods.
Its only about 3 weeks after buying this new ipod do i realize that it is randomly changing song ratings. It has therefore changed all the ratings i painstakingly had made. After trying many different ways to find out where the problem was coming from, I even did the drastic move of unrating all my songs, both on the ipod and itunes. Sure enough, when i plugged it back in to sync it, it was giving me new random ratings for about 40 songs, even though they had previously been totally blank.
I'm extremely surprised I can't find any information about this. This bug has killed all the work I had spent trying to organize my library, and leaves me feeling quite disgusted.

There seems to be an all around problem with this new ipod. It isn't showing the play count for songs I know i listened to, and it's adding random songs in my top 25 most played that i never listened to.
An answer would be very nice.

IPod Nano 7th Generation will not turn on

My 10 month old iPod Nano 7th Generation will not turn on - all of a sudden.
All songs on the device have disappeared.
Shows in iTunes - even shows as having a fully charged battery.
Holding Home Button and Sleep/Wake button down, even for a long time, doesn't help.
Have changed USB ports, from computer to AC powered USB charging station.
Help?

Just saw elsewhere on the forum to press and hold the power and home buttons and it fixxed it for me

The first thing we need to check is if you have a 6G Nano. If you do, you will be unable to sync videos to it as they are not compatible with the latest generation.
If it's another generation, you may want to double check your iPod's sync settings for movies/videos from under its Movies configuration tab in iTunes. See this article for more information.

So when I got my iPod, I installed iTunes and everything went very well..
but today I tried to sync my iPod and it is not even detected from my iTunes or my computer.
I had the error -42110, but I found the solution on here, but it didn't work either.
I went through a lot of questions on here, but I couldn't find any solution for my problem
Has anyone got any idea?

well actually I did connect my iPod 3 days later or so to my charger, because a friend of mine asked me if I'm sure that the cable is not broken. So I connected it and it charged, when I thought "Well let's try on the computer again". I plugged it in and it was detected again.. so uhm I don't really know why it did not worked the last times.
So maybe try to restart your computer and turn off an on again the device and try it later on again.. maybe it will work then:)

Not all iTunes video can be transferred to iPod, If the video resolution or video bit rate beyond iPod limitation, you can't upload them to iPod. For example, some iTunes purchased movie are High definition movie, the resolution is too high to play on iPod. If the videos are in your iTunes, you can right-click the video to highlight it, and then select "Create iPod or iPhone Version". iTunes will automatically convert the video to iPod compatible format. When the conversion process has completed, sync the new version to your iPod. For more info, here is a guide about how to convert and transfer video to iPod nano. Hope it helps. IPod nano (7th generation) will not restore in iTunes

Recently, I've been havng issues syncing my iPod nano (7th generation). I thought the most logical way to fix this is to restore it. When I click "Restore" everything is fine till it gets to "Extracting Software" then it says "The iPod "Alex's iPod nano" can not be restored because it is in use with another application." I do have warranty. Should I take it to the Apple Store?

Is the Enable Disk Use option enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes? If so, disable it and then try restoring again.
Sometimes simply rebooting the iPod and Mac can resolve the issue. To reset the Nano, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

I got a new laptop a couple months ago, now have a new ipod nano and it wont recognise it. Ive been to genius bar about 3 times on this, they were useless, and didn't really want to bother to spend time with me, and then went on phone other night for two and half hours to a person in apple ,new mexico, and now last night got a new ipod nano from apple shop and it still wont sync. ive spent hours again reading up on it but it just ownt recognise the device to sync it
this is getting really frustrating
