My ipod nano gen 4 will not sync the new episodes of a video podcast. HELP!!!

My ipod nano gen 4 will not sync the new episodes of a video podcast. I could download the first half of the episodes. Help! I really like them. It says "it can't be played on this device." Many other podcasts are doing the same thing. Is my ipod too old?

my ipod nano4th gen will not download the purchased songs in itunes v11.  Just upgraded to mac 10.6.8-won't synch new songs since this upgrade.  The ipod is seen in the itunes as the devise, and the nano screens says synching when plugged into the macmini usb port, but the itunes window does not say it is synching like it has before so whats the culprit? Techno virgin in distress!
PS - I added an iphone5 which is whay these upgrades happened so this synching to the ipod error is since the iphone began synching.

I just learn in some post that the most common lapses in syncing is not checking if "sync music" in music section of the ipod is ticked. So double check if it is. Cheers!

  • New iPod Nano gen7 will not sync

    Some backround info;
My iMac 27" harddrive was recently replaced (11/2012) by Apple because they said it was defective (replacement was covered by AppleCare).
I have recently purchased an iPod Nano gen7 and connected it to sync with my iTunes library.
My iMac is running OS X 10.8.2 and my iTunes is running Ver. 10.0.2. The iPod Nano gen7 is running Ver. 1.0.2.
My iPhone 5 and iPad 4 both installed prior to my harddrive repalcement are syncing all of my tunes from my old hard drive and tunes added after the harddrive was replace. My complete iTunes library runs from 2007 to present day and is stored in the iCloud.
Listed on my iTunes account, iTunes in the Cloud under Manage Devices are 1) My iMac, 2) My iPhone, and 3) My iPad, Missing is my iPod Nano.
On my Itunes page listed undet "STORE" is a listing called PURCHASED that only shows tunes purchased since my harddrive was replaced.
My problem is that my just purchased iPod Nano gen7 will only sync tunes installed since my harddrive was replace, non of my tunes from my old harddrive.
How can I get iTunes to sync all of my iTunes library to my iPod Nano gen7.
Any and all help will be appreciated.

I have the Same problem we always have this with tech in our house! I came to find this problem after using a faulty socket box, I hadn't noticed that while my iPod was charging in my Belkin USB Adaptor that the Red Light on the Adaptor was flashing (Power On and Off) consistently because of the power not getting through to my adaptor, so while reading my tech magazine there was a rather loud 'BANG' so as you do you go and have a look so I pushed my charger in to the socket harder and the light did not come up on my iPod or my Adaptor meaning that something was wrong with the adaptor... So I checked my iPod and it would not switch on or do anything for that matter!
Please help me on this one guys, i'm not usually the one struggling with tech!

  • IPod 5th Gen will not recognize the fact that it actually has music on it

This question has been asked before, but not answered. With that in mind, I will ask you this: Though my iPod does definitely have 18 gigs of music on it, as I can see them when I choose to view it as a portable media device, or whatever, and search manually through windows explorer, it will not recognize the music in either iTunes or on my iPod. I have not restored my iPod because that would be a pain. I have had it for no more than two weeks and this occurrence has made me very upset. It happened when I was working on a playlist. There was a beep sound as if it had ejected and then the black and white screen with the apple came on as if it had been reset. Subsequently, all music disappeared from the iTunes sub menu of my iPod. Furthermore, even though in the "about" on my iPod it says there is music there, I can not see it. When that happened there was a windows message saying that there was a corrupted file and that I should use the "chkdisc" feature. I did that, and nothing was fixed. Please help. Welcome to Apple Discussions!
We are customers too. Sorry if Apple is not SATISFYING you, but we are not Apple.
If you want to try to "repair" your iPod to get the music to show back up...
    http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/docs/help/corruptedipod.php
But again, it would be better to restore. Also, 3rd party software does not always work flawlessly.
To fix the error that came up, along with getting your music to show back up properly (without the risks of 3rd party software), you need to restore your iPod. If all of your music is on your computer/in iTunes, you won't loose any of it.
    See this for more info...
iPod: What to do if Windows displays an "itunes.exe - Corrupt File" message
    And if the problem persists...
Da Gopha: What to do if Windows displays an "iTunes.exe - Corrupt File" message
If the iPod was just not showing you the songs even though they are there, the first option would be better. However, since you are getting the chkdsk error, you should/need to restore your iPod.

  • Ipod nano 6g will not sync OR charge! (not happy)

i bought a ipod nano 6g but 3-4 hours ago and its not syncing. It is not recognized by my comp nor itunes. Not only that it it isnt charging either. I had downloaded the latest version of itunes. I did the diagnostics test and every test passed except for 2 in which both had said "no ipod, iphone, or ipad found". If it helps i also saw something that said no apple mobile device driver found as well, but i dont know or think it has anything to do with the fact that that device is also not charging. I have gone through several self tech support links from apple's support site and itunes links. i may just take it back tommorow. Please assist me and if ur having this same problem. please bump my topic so it gets more attention.

  • HELP!!!!!! I changed Computers and My Ipod Will Not Sync the New Music!

So I've changed comupters. I just reinstalled itunes and I'm trying to sync a new album on my ipod but the artists, songs, album will not show up on my ipod even after I clicked sync. How Do I transfer music that I bought on my first laptop onto the one I have now?

*I just reinstalled itunes and I'm trying to sync a new album on my ipod but the artists, songs, album will not show up on my ipod even after I clicked sync*
Check your update preferences. Click on the picture of the iPod in the left pane of iTunes. This will bring up the tabs in the main pane to the right. In the first tab "Summary" check to see if your iPod is set to "manually manage songs and playlists". If you have songs on the iPod that aren't on your computer then leave it at this setting, if you change it to sync automatically it will erase anything you have on the iPod and replace it with whatever is in your new iTunes.
*How Do I transfer music that I bought on my first laptop onto the one I have now?*
If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases you'll find details on transferring them to your new computer in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.

  • My iPod 4th Gen will not sync Mp3s.

My iPod 4th gen won't allow mp3 files to be dragged into the bar and downloaded. I am using iTunes without signing to the same apple ID that the iPod is on, so maybe that has something to do with it, but my family member's iPod of the same generation works with the same circumstances. Please help.

Problem solved.  First I deleted synce back up, then deletedl sync history under preferences in iTunes.  Next, I went into the settings area of my iPod.  I renamed it with it's same name (in my case, Dominic's iPod).  I then rebooted the computer (Win 7).  When I logged into windows, it started syncing instantaneously.

  • Ipod 5th Gen will not sync movies from Itunes...

I've had this Ipod for a couple of years now and the only way I've been able to put movies on is through a few programs that I've downloaded. I've bought a few movies off of the Itunes store and every time I put it on the iPod, the iPod freezes up, and then sometimes my iPod loses all of it's content. The iPod and iTunes are both up-to-date, is this just an issue with the 5th gens?

Are these HD movies? iPods can only handle SD movies.
Some store downloads include both versions. They will show HD-SD next to them. If so, right-click > Version and make sure SD is checked.
if it just shows HD, you should be able to use the Advanced menu to create an iPod or iPhone version.

  • My computer doesn't recognize my iPod and therefore will not sync my new music

When I plug my iPod up to my computer, my computer doesn't recognize that the iPod is plugged in. I've tried reinstalling iTunes and this iPod has synced with this computer before.

    Hy there,
In order for you to solve this problem you have to follow these stept if your running windows:
1'st step is to go into the device manager
2 step is to go to portable devices (it is right under network adapters)
3 step is to right clic apple ipod and click update drivers
4 step is to brows your drivers from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
After that your itunes will pump up alown and youl see your iphone right there.
If these doesent work try restarting your device and then see what happens.
Good luck and sry for my bad righting.

  • My ipod nano 6th gen will not sync.

My ipod nano 6th gen will not sync. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes; I have reset the nano; I have used a different USB port and connector; I have rebooted my computer. Any suggestions?

I just did the same. Spent at least two hours trying different actions. Then uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. Also used a different USB port, etc. Also rebooted computer.   No option for syncing is showing up on Itunes and when I run diagnostics it says there is no device detected- yet it is plugged into a USB port and the screen on the Nano says connected. • My nano ipod 7 gen will not be recognized by itunes but my classic ipod syncs just fine

my nano ipod 7 generation will not sync or be recognized.  it says it detects an ipod but cannot be recognized.  i have an ipod classic that syncs just fine.  why will my nano not be recognized?  it is a new computer and i have done everything it has asked in the help section.  nothing works?

In iTunes, if the sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  The iPod should appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  It does not appear there, when you connect the nano?
    If not...
it says it detects an ipod
Where does it say the iPod is detected?
