My Ipod Nano keeps turning itself off halfway through a song, anyone know why this happens?

I have had my Nano since November and have downloaded cds and music of downloads.  When I play the ipod halfway through a song the ipod turns itself off. Do you think this is a fault with the Ipod or am I doing something wrong when downloading the music?

Hey jokoboco,
At this point get your ipod service with apple. Have your Serial number ready. Sounds like your iPod has a hardware issue, a kind of defect. Use any of these options:

or
1800 MY APPLE
or

Hope this helps.

  • My iPod touch keeps turning itself off

My iPod touch keeps turning itself off. My iPod is fully updated and charged. When i try and turn it on the apple symbol comes on but a bit later turns itself off again (even when on a charger) what should i do?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iMac keeps losing the connection to my chosen Airport Wi-Fi network.  Anyone know why this happens?

Close all Apps and see if Activity Monitor shows any processes runnung.
Not that I think this is the cure but have you tried these resets:
    SMC RESET
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
The 5 second timing is important to a successful reset.
    PRAM RESET
    Zap the PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • My I phones voice control pops up when I'm listening to music. This happens often. I turn off then turn on my phone until it eventually happens again. Anyone know why this happens?

My iphone goes into voice control without me asking. This happens when I'm listening to music. I do turn off my phone and turn it back on but eventually it happens again. What is causing the problem?

Yes, your iPhone has the classic signs of early onset Alzheimer's...
Assuming that nothing is pressing on the Home button when this occurs, try the basic steps as needed:
    1. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    2. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
    3. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup.
If #3 doesn't help, there is a hardware problem such as a defective home button, and you should make an appt. with an Apple Store Genius bar.

  • Nano keeps turning itself off and on again (only to apple)

So I went to charge my nano and when I did so it froze, so I reset it and ever since it wont come on properly, it gets to the apple screen (no backlight) then the backlight comes on, then EVERYTHING goes blank and then it starts again. (this behaviour only when attached via USB) If I turn it on unplugged I get the apple logo (no backlight) and If I press select it lights up for a split second then goes of...

I know it might not work the first time
but if u keep trying it might start working
after restoring and reseting my nano like a billion times
    mine started to work again
I guess all u can do is go to apple if this does not work
or complain and hope that apple will release a new version of soft
if more ppl post about this problem i sure apple will resolve it like the cracked screen problem

  • My iPod Nan keeps turning itself off!

When ever I try to play music via the 'Music' section - my iPod resets itself. How annoying!
It can still play via 'Shuffle songs', and it knows there is music on there via 'Settings'and 'About'.
This is a primarily hadware issue - can anyone help me?

    Hi Keemananman,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Are you sure its not in a sleep mode? Knowledge Base Document #60945 goes over The iPods Different Sleep Modes. Is it just through the Music menu? Have you tried putting your music on in a playlist then listening to it. You might need to try "The Five Rs".
    I hope that helps,

    Hi callum88888888,
As the screen suggests, you will need to contact iTunes store support. You can do that from this page -
iTunes - Contact Us - Apple Support
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Sometimes my apps won't load on my iPad 2, they just keep saying wait anyone know why this happens.

It will just say waiting instead of actually loading my apps, sometimes for days. Why does this happen.

When a download is interrupted, it sits there and blocks everything in line behind it.  You need to find a good connection, then allow that original download to complete.  Try logging into the store from your computer, and see if it will download there.

  • My ipod keeps turning itself off,  it syncs and charges fine. does anyone know what i can do?

i brought a second hand ipod, i would told it was fully functional. however, sometimes it likes to turn itself off halfway through songs.
it syncs to my mac fine and the battery can last upto a few days.
does anybody please have any advice? thanks.

Have you restored it in iTunes yet? If the issue is software related then a restore will resolve your issue, since it will remove all data and system software and reinstall the system software.
More info on restoring your iPod can be found here:

  • Ipod nano keeps turning on and off

My ipod nano keeps turning off and on automatically and when I push a button once its on then it freezes, and when I reset it then it starts turning on and off again....what do I do someone please help me

    Hello Mo0nangel,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
First, try updating the iPod software. Follow the steps in this article:
    Updating iPod software
If the problem persists, you may have to restore your iPod:
    Restoring iPod to factory settings
Unfortunately, restoring will wipe your nano clean of all songs and photos.

Have yu tried the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
