My iPod Nano no longer work, just appearing a complete white screen

Display
Follow these steps if your iPod doesn't respond to your input or has a display-related issue.
Screen is unresponsive and displays Apple logo or white screen
Reset iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button until you see the Apple logo appear. If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes.
If the Apple logo does not appear, or if the iPod is not seen in iTunes, connect it to iTunes and try to restore.

By any chance have you recently updated the iOS? If so, it may just require a soft reset. Simply press and hold the Menu and Home button until the Apple logo appears. This will not erase any information on your iPod/iPhone, simply reboot the software. Please make sure the iPod/iPhone is not connected to the unit while performing the soft reset.
    I performed the soft reset and tried my iPod Nano in the dock and it now works!

    I have an iPod nano and I have only just purchased it less than a month ago. Whenever it is laying somewhere not plugged in to the computer it will be a blank screen. If I press menu it will come up with a note that reads "use iTunes to restore" and than it shuts off again. It will do the same thing if I press menu again. when I connect it to my computer it makes a beep that acknoledges that is connected but won't show up on the left where it should. While it is plugged in it will say do not disconnect... and it will not stop saying that! I have tried reseting it s instructed in the manual but that doesn't have any effect. I have also tried disk mode which I don't totally understand but I tried it non the less. Anyway my question basically is how do I fix this and how could I possibly restore it via iTunes if iTunes does not recognize its connection.     I have had my 7th generation ipod nano for about 6 months. It only stays plugged into my vehicle. 3 days ago, the center button quit working. It still plays music and the touch screen works, as well at the top on/off button. What can I do to fix this?

    if it is warranty i would visit a apple retail store, be sure to set an appointment if you vist the store.

    Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
    Sometimes this works:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings      
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    Go to the devices support site and see if they have anything. Maybe a firmware update is available. Otherwise you will have to wait for a firmware or iOS update.

    Yesterday I tried to play my ipod nano and nothing worked. It is on and the main screen comes up but none of the buttons will work. I charged it then went online and did the hold button back and forth trick and holding the menu and select button down but nothing makes it unfreeze. I can't play it in the car or anywhere. It just stays on with no buttons working. What can i do?

    Since I upgraded my iTunes to the latest version 9.02, my iPod nano (1st generation) doesn't appear and I cannot synchronize it. Tried to change USB port, no result.     I am having a similar problem. Dusted off my daughters old nano to take to the beach. Tried setting it up on the old lap top I am taking with me and I could not get it working. After hours of diagnostics and troubleshooting matrixs it seems that I did not have drivers. Apple's troubleshooting says go to microsoft, MS's says go to apple for the drivers. Shows up as a faulted device. Did the updates to the USB drivers, etc. Put the player in disk mode (still would not recognize) My laptop says yes I have an I pod but it cant find the drivers to install it My other old laptop running old I Tune software seems to have no problem. I thought it was my problem I was wasting a

  • IPod Touch no longer working with car Head Unit since update

    Hi there, I have a problem with using my iPod Touch with my car's head unit.
    I've been using my iPod Touch with the Alpine IDA X001 Head unit fitted in my car for the last 3 months without any problems, however I installed the latest software update for the Touch (v4.0) and now the head unit connects and then says no USB device. At first I thought it was the cable as the cable supplied with the head unit is pretty fragile, so I've replaced it with a new one but it still doesn't work.
    I've tested with my iPod Nano and it works perfectly so its not a problem with the head unit or lead (I plugged the Touch in and it didn't work, plugged the Nano in and worked perfectly and then plugged the Touch in and didn't work).
    Can anyone help or is it gonna be a case of Restoring the iPod Touch back to factory settings ????

    I was also having this problem with my Kenwood car stereo. I went into the store and they did a complete restore. I didn't think it worked but the next time I plugged it into my usb to connect with my car stereo it worked. So you might try doing a restore.

    No.  But you should still have a backup of your user data, including your iTunes data.
