My ipod nano plays on ipod and headphones

My ipod nano (4th or 5th, not sure) plays music from both ipod itself and headphones when jack is plugged in. When i turn volume all the way down, the sound still plays low on headphones. I am not sure what caused this priblem. Is there a way to fix it without erasing my library?

Plug the headset all the way in until the plastic on the headset jack housing is flush with the body of the Nano.

5th gen Nano playing songs slower and with some digital "noise"

Recently I have notice my 5th gen Nano playing songs slowere and with digital "noise" when out speed walking with the pedometer on...anyone experience this and know what could be causing it?

I'm also having this issue. It started on Friday. It slowed down my music towards the middle of the song and if I change the song it is OK for a bit and then it gets the digital noise and slows down again. I have no idea what is causing it. My ipod is less than a year old. I'm going to try and reset it tomorrow I think. The trouble is driving me NUTS.

My Video Ipod and headphones

So i got my video ipod back in September of 06 and recently the head phones have been acting screwy. i suspect it isnt the headphones but the input slot or w.e. when i put the jack all the way in only the left headphone works, but if i pull it halfway out they both work but is easily disconnected. can i fix it, and if not will apple fix it? i take good care of it and have not mistreated it in any way

You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.

Sound playing through speakers and Headphones at the same time...

Hi everyone, I have a Toshiba Satellite A215 S5849. It is only about 6 months old. Now whenever I plug my headphones into the headphone jack, sound keeps playing through the speakers and in the headphones at the same time. Also the speakers do always have a crackling sound like they are blown. I have been trying to fix it for awhile now but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

My latest problem is that the Apple site will not recognize my equipment by it's serial number. I know the mini is old, but I like what it did for me and don't necessarily want to "upgrade".

Check with the theater system vendor and see if their system is compatible with the Nano. The resolution on the Nano may be too low for the system.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting for your iPod nano that is not responding. In this situation, if resetting it did not resolve, I would suggest restoring the iPod back to its factory settings and then sync your content back onto it from iTunes. My ipod nano just turns off and on when i repeatedly plug in headphones and the sleep/wake button is disabled while I have my headphones plugged in

My Ipod Nano basically switched the function of turning on/off when i plug in the headphones. I found a way to beat this by plugging in my headphones an even number of times, but when I do this, the Sleep/Wake button is completely rendedered useless. As soon as the screen turns off I cannot change songs by double clicking, but I am able to change volume. The same is for trying to sleep the screen. I have tried factory resetting the ipod and using different headphones but the problem seems like it is not affected by these steps. I also tried to clean out the headphone jack and the result is the same.

Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

I had the same problem. Someone here told me to make sure my earbuds were in securely. Push until they click in place. It solved the problem. The music still plays even though the screen goes to sleep. Hope this helps.

HT201272 Ipod nano won't sync and I have ! points next to my 600 songs that I can't play.

My brand new lap top will not sync with my iPod. I've tried everything- uninstalling iTunes, reinstall, erase my iPod and have in sync with my new computer, only 3 song's out of 600 will come across. My entire libraray shows up however all my songs have ! points in front of them. I've constantly have had to go to my OLD PC and download my songs again from the erase. I can play it from my OLD PC however my new laptop still wont reconize my library.

I just figured it out you have to plug in your iPod and when the little icon appears in the toolbar on the left click it now you should see the screen with a pic of your iPod and the thing that says check for updates and restore.....now look above the pic of your iPod up where the tabs are and click the one that says games then click the box that says sync games then click the box that says selected games now chose the games you want to sync and click the apply button in the bottom right corner and it will sync your games... Songs transferred to Ipod will not play in Itunes and don't show in Ipod

I have had a nano for a good 6+ months and have yet to be able to fill it up with music. Under 200 songs it is a crap shoot whether or not the songs will show up after I eject it. If I load 200+ songs to the Ipod one of two things happen. 1. After ejecting the Ipod none of the songs i loaded show up on it, and after linking it back to the computer, itunes tells me that it must be restored. 2. a good number of songs will not play but are skipped over. The album art shows for a split second and goes to the next song. The next time I plug it into my computer it says that It does not recognize it and forces me to restore it again.
I have done the following among other things.
1. Repeatedly restored my ipod, this does not help.
2. Re-installed Itunes and Quicktime.
3. Loaded only AAC files.
4. Turned off Spy Sweeper while before plugging in my Ipod and load songs.
5. Disabled Norton Anti-virus.
6. Confirmed how I am ejecting it.
6. Replaced my Ipod once.
7. Bought a new computer HP Pavillion a1630n.
8. Invested well over 40 hours of my time trying to get this thing to work.
I have over 200GB of music which and I cannot get much more than 2GB on my 4GB Ipod without a problem. As of this writting I have restored it 6 times, after each time I drag my songs to the Ipod icon, when it is done loading, I press the eject icon next to the IPod and each time I click English-->Music-->Artists--> and after that all I get is All-->All-->Nothing. I plug it back into the computer and have to restore it and start over. I have had the same problem on two Ipods, and two Computers. I want this to work so bad. Help Help Help.

The exact message that I get each time I plug my Ipod back in states, "iTunes cannot read teh contents of the iPod "MILOPOD." Go to the summary tab in iPod preferences and click Restore to restore this iPod to factory settings."
I am continually restoring my Ipod over and over again reducing the number of songs on it over and over until I get lucky enough for the songs to stick. Only about 100 or so will regularly stick. I am now restoring it for the 7th time.

HT1727 I lost my old iPod and bought a new one. The old one had many of MY personally owned and legally bought CDs on it. I have those iTunes backed up ant now I can't seem to "synch" them to the new iPod nano.

I can't seem to synch my new iPod nano to the legally purchased music from CDs that had been on my old iPod which I've lost.
I had a backup of all those iTunes that I want to import to the new nano.
How can I "synch" the new iPod nano to the music I see in an iTune library? The new iPod nano displays "no music" and

You might consider restoring the iPhone, then removing the SIM card after activating the iPhone, so as to use it as an iPod Touch. This should prevent any unwanted association with a phone number, and thus, voicemail, as well.
