My Ipod Nano shuts off after awhile during use? Is this a defect or is this something correctable with the sleep/wake button? I want it to play continuously while I use it, not continually shut down?

You don't have the headset jack plugged all the way in. Make sure the plastic on the headset jack is flush with the body of the Nano.

Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store. Apple provides warranty (and out of warranty) service for the phone. Not Verizon.

Ok so my ipod touch just turned off by itself..again. I got it to work again last time cause the sleep/wake button still worked...Now it doesn't. What do I do?! I don't have money to get it repaired cause we all know Apple ain't cheap to fix! Any Suggestions will help!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Where it says use recovery mode use this program
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem -
Hi, I'm trying to shut down the phone in the normal way (the Sleep / Wake button and hold down on the Close tab) turns off the display after a while yet, but the phone turns off completely opens up the phone to come out after the apple logo .. Doing those doesn't turn off your phone?
As stated hold down the top button only until you see the red slider to power off your phone.
If that doesn't work then take it to Apple and see what they say. -
My Ipod Nano basically switched the function of turning on/off when i plug in the headphones. I found a way to beat this by plugging in my headphones an even number of times, but when I do this, the Sleep/Wake button is completely rendedered useless. As soon as the screen turns off I cannot change songs by double clicking, but I am able to change volume. The same is for trying to sleep the screen. I have tried factory resetting the ipod and using different headphones but the problem seems like it is not affected by these steps. I also tried to clean out the headphone jack and the result is the same.
Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

Why are songs cutting out in the middle and my ipod shutting down?I have to hit the sleep/wake button to turn it back on and hit play again. Then, the songs will play from where it left off.

The i pod is disabled I cant conect to i tunes because it says to enter password. I have followed the steps to try a hard reset by holding down just the sleep/wake button or that and home button till the slidder bar showes which is not happening it has the lock symbol in the middle top screen of the red bar so i cant even get it to unlock.... any suggestions on how to shut this thing off so i can get it into recovery mode to reset it?
Try placing the iPod in ecovery mode and then restoring the iPod via iTunes. For recovery mode see:

Next would beto wait for the battery to fully drain and the charge and try again. -

Since it sounds like you have already tried all the usual and available troubleshooting techniques, I would make a trip to your local Apple store/Genius Bar and have them take a look at it. Your iPod is still under Apple's 1 year warranty that cover any defects (but not accidental damage!).

My ipod touch is not recognized on itunes and will not turn on or even give me the battery sign that it is dead. I turned it off and it won't turn back on now. I have a 14.88G iPod Nano that I currently use as my primary watch. A week or so ago I started to experience a blank white screen when I press the "sleep/wake" button instead of the watch face (I have it set to wake from sleep to display the clock). When I hard reset it, it will come back fine and the screen will respond and work as normal, as soon as I manually put it to sleep by pressing the "sleep/wake" button and then try to wake it the same thing happens and I have a blank white screen that doesn't respond to touch gestures or anything.
What I have tried so far to no avail:
Numerous hard restarts (holding the "sleep/wake" button with the volume - button).
Tried this: iPod nano (6th generation): Hardware troubleshooting
Changed the watch face to display.
Recharged the device overnight (without full discharge).
Since none of this works I'm out of ideas. Eventhough I have a 6G Nano it should no longer be under warranty since I was sent it as a replacement for a different (older) product.
Any ideas? Is this a known problem? Thanks in advance for any insight any of you could provide. Also, what time is it??

I have the exact same problem as you have described. I also used my ipod as a watch but starting from today, whenever I unlock it the screen turns white until a reset is done. Even a factory reset through itunes didn't fix it.

My ipad mini is frozen in an app and the home button is stuck. Pressing the wake/sleep button does not bring up the red slider to turn the ipad off. Is there any other way I can reset the ipad? Can I remove the battery? and then put it back in?

I can't shut down my ipad2 even when i press and hold the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time.
If the screen appears to be zoomed in, then does tapping the screen with three fingers zoom you back out ? When zoom is on you should also be able to scroll around the screen using three fingers on the screen.
If you are seeing the keypad then that should be for the iPad's passcode, I assume that you have one set ? If the iPad is disabled then I wouldn't expect the keypad to show. -
