My ipod pauses itself while on hold and not being touched
Sometimes when my ipod is just sitting there minding its own business, and even on hold, it will pause itself. I will then unpause it, put it back on hold only to have it happen again. It doesn't do it all the time but it drives me absolutely insane when I am listening to music across the room.
Has anyone had this happen or have any clues? It happens still even though I have reset it a few times! I am afraid my ipod might be disfunctional or something!

Can you elaborate a little? Are you saying that iPod keeps randomly jumping to another song midway through another? There could be many reasons for this.
The first thing you should do is try a hard reset of the device. To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

After getting a new desktop I downloaded iTunes and authorized my new computer and then de-authorized my old one, When I try to update my 5S it says my phone is not authorized and list my wifes email address as the account holder and not mine. It sounds as though you are experiencing an issue with an Apple ID and authorizations. Based on your post, it sounds like you are familiar with the authorizing and deauthorizing process. The Apple ID in question (your wife's email) may be originating from the iPhone you are attempting to update. Is it possible that your wife created an Apple ID or iCloud account which is signed in on that iPhone? I'm trying to up my new Ipod Nano, it appears in Windows and not in Itunes, if I reinstall Itunes, will files previously set up by other Ipod users sharing the computer be lost?

It also sounds like that computer is not authorized for the account. You can only have 5 computers authorized for one account. If yo go to iTunes>Store>View account and then sign in it will tell you how many (but no what computers) are authorized. There is no way to find out what computers are authorized.
You can deauthorize all computer once a year.

iPod is stuck in recovery mode, and not recognized by iTunes.
Tried all of the recommended resets and combinations mentioned, but the ipod is still not recognized. Genius at apple said it may be a hardware error, "The button is broke" but all of the buttons and cords work and i proved it to him. Well it was only one Slot Machine app that was working but that is not working either now. I have to ask my son about the firewall port blocking, but I don't think so, or if it does that's not the problem as the iPod worked fine the first day and then it stopped all of a sudden. Most of the apps I have on the phone are companions to the online game about farming and fighting and building towns. The rest are slot machines.

Anyone know how to reset my iphone vm password (so I can listen to my messages) while in Canada and not turning on cellular so I don't get charged for roaming? Verizon says its an iphone issue and Apple says to contact my carrier?! I don't want to pay for roaming and I am able to use my phone fine and also connect to wifi while at friend's houses etc.
It's not a Verizon reset - under General and phone there is a place to reset my password however I can't do it without cellular turned on.

Apple is suppose to be the pinnacle of usability and, yet, I want to throw my new IPhone 4s as far as I can and watch is smash into a million pieces on concrete. Seriously, I've already got three things that irritate the **** out of me. First, there are Apple apps that insist on playing sound even though the sound is turned off. If I flick a switch to turn the sound off, I want the sound off!!!! Second, if I do not want a totally unnecessary feature like Game Center, I should be able to disable it. I completed most of the Angry Bird levels with 2 or 3 stars and now I have to start over from square one. Maybe, this happened when I upgraded to the 4s but it sure seemed to happen when I joined Game Center. Tomorrow, I am going to reset my 4s to factory defaults to try to get rid of my Game Center account. I don't want Game Center! I do need Game Center! I hate Game Center! Finally, I had an alarm go off to wake me up and there was a Snooze button but no button to turn the alarm off. I flicked the slider to access the main screen expecting to see something to turn the alarm off but there was nothing. The alarm just kept alarming. I had to warm boot my IPhone to shut the alarm off! Really, Apple!!!!
The sound is turned off. Only, some Apple apps like YouTube and Siri make sound when the sound is turned off. It is very embarrassing when this happens at work. My question was how do I tell Apple to fix this?

The alarm went off. There was a green thing that looked like a button but pressing it did nothing. There was a red button that said snooze. I did not want to snooze. I wanted to turn the alarm off. I slid the bar to unlock the phone and there were no running apps with a button to press. The alarm just keep running. I have not had this problem since it first occurred. The alarm now shuts off when I just unlock the phone. It may have happened because I had another alarm app running. The two may have interfered with each other. I would like to tell Apple about it.
It also annoys me that the button that closes apps leaves the phone app running. If I press on a number at 6:00 AM to get information about who called me, the phone automatically dials the person back and my natural reaction is to press on the button to close the phone app but the phone keeps dialing this person at 6:00 AM. It is a bad design. I would like to tell Apple about it.
Finally, I looked all over Apple's site to try to find someplace I could send them a polite message to let them know that I was not happy with these "features" but could not find anything. It is extremely frustrating to have issues with a product and not being able to tell the manufacturer about it. So, you grow up!.

This is a stupid question but I needed to ask because I don't want to go there and not being able to buy it, but can I get the iPhone 5 brought straight there when I go to an apple store?
And I meant go to the apple store physically without preordering it online, and I meant the Southampton one. Mountain lion has killed my mac book pro. After downloading and trying to install, I am stuck in a loop of "not enough room to install on this disk" and not being able to access the old disk's data to open up space.
Nope. It just opened the installer and stayed in the same loop.
It tells me to choose a startup disk but the only option is the HD which it will not use because it says it cannot gather enough information.
Eveything was working fine until the mountain lion failed install. -

My ipod pauses itself when headphones malfunction
Hi, whenever I pull out my headphones or the wire bends the wrong way on my mini, the song pauses. Normally, this is a great feature. Recently, though, my headphones are for the most part ok but the ipod keeps pausing itself whenever the headphones move a certain way. This makes it very irritating when I move around with my ipod in my pocket. Is there anyway to turn this setting off?
first, try a different pair of headphones
next clean the contacts. Rub the headphones part with cloth wetted with distilled water. to clean the inside of the ipod, use a Q-tip. do not use water to clean the port.
If this didnt work, it simply could be your ipod. When i had my mini and i had other issues with it, we went to my Apple Store to get help. Another guy was there, and he had the exact problem you're describing. However, his was under warranty.

Hi my friend is having some issues with her ipod first generation it is not being recognized by the computer when she plugs it in and when she opens itunes it does not show up. the only thing she can do is charge her ipod from the computer, if anyone can help that would be great thanks!!
Could be any number of reasons. One of them just may be your refusal to update iTunes. Just because others are having issues does not mean you'll have them!
