My IPod says it is connected to my Wi-Fi but it won't connect to the App Store
I Tried to restore it and turn on and off the wi-fi connection but it still won't work. Please help me. Thanks.
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make/model, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

thanks for your posting, it just reflects my experience (although I didn't contact the helpdesk, but after what you wrote I think I can skip that part). I am livin in China and buy from the German MS, worked fine until about a week ago when the download of an album stopped just after 5 songs. I have never been able to connect to the shop ever since.
The interesting thing is, that I get a response from their server in the domain phobos.apple.com (phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/storeFront) which I would interpret that there can't be a problem which they always list (Antivirus, Firewall etc...)
So will there ever be somebody from Apple who is going to give a better explanation how to solve the problem ? Or are there already too many people buying iPods and music ??? -

I started up the Mini with the modem in one usb, and the speaker system in the other (M-Audio Sonica Theatre) - I have one of the Minis that have only 2 USB (and one FireWire) ports. The firewire has the external drive connected to it.
So far, as I"m typing this, I AM able to be online and use iTunes simultaneously. (both SaFari and iTunes respond slower than if I was using only one or the other, but they ARE actually working - in addition to having Adium running) - So I think what you suggested ( that is was something wonky was the USB hub) was a correct, yet assessment.
Would you have any reccommendations for USB hubs? The only thing that I have connected to the hub under normal circumstances that would be constantly "running" would be the RadioShark (even though the Radio soft isn't playing - the blue light on the RadioShark is always on) - and the speakers naturally. Everything else is of the occassional variety - iPod Sync Cable, Dual Layer External DVD Burner, and a "pass thu" to the USB ports on my Hard Drive Enclosure (which had been unplugged before the problem was noticed). Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot the connection to the iTunes store you are experiencing on your iPod Touch. Scroll to the section labeled Troubleshooting on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Attempt to connect to another wifi network to see if the issue persists as this could be the cause.

My iPod touch 4th gen. Keeps giving me the error message "cannot connect to the app store when I sign in. I can open the app store and browse it but I can't download anything. I have full signal strength with my wi-fi and safari is working perfect. I turned it off and restarted it 3 times now. I have an iPad 2 and the app store works flawlessly with it. What is going on?
Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

When I try to search for music by a specific artist in the iTunes store on my iPhone 5, I get an error that says "Can't connect to the iTunes store". This only happens when I search for music by this band. I can search for other artists and listen to song clips and everything seems to be connecting to the iTunes store just fine. But for some reason, it doesn't work with this artist. The band name is July for Kings. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but I hope so!

hopefully they can help. You may also be interested to know that for some reason it is just not available to a lot of people at the same time. Appears to be an issue of more users than their servers can handle. Has happened periodically for at least 6 months that I know of but apparently users are able to use within several days if there are no other issues with the users device. -

1.Power Cycle
Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly.
It will take a while.
Restart the computer.
Start up in Safe Mode.

Hook it up to your computer and open itunes. try to download hte apps via your computer. Every time you update hte software you have to reagree to the itunes terms of service. Sometimes it's hard to get it to come up on the device, but is easier on a computer.

I'm a new iPad owner. When I've rented a movie, I can't work out how to play it back without a wifi connection. I get a message which says you cannot connect to the iTunes store without an Internet connection. This happens whether I've rented or purchased a film.
