My ipod screen came off why?

1 week ago my ipod started to not charge and then the screen started to come off and i wanted to know why?

It's glued on and the glue must have come lose. If it's out of warranty, you can try and fix it yourself. Check iFixIt and YouTube for screen repair.

  • The screen came off off my ipod is it broken for good?

i dropped my ipod and the screen came completly off is there a way it can be fixed?

You can try making an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple Store, if you have them in your area, and asking if they'll exchange it for their out-of-warranty replacement fee, but in most cases when the iPod has broken into multiple pieces they won't. It won't hurt to ask, though. If indeed they won't, there are unauthorized repair shops that may be able to repair your iPod. Do a web search for "ipod repair" and you'll find a number of options. I haven't used any so I can't make any specific recommendations, but someone else here might know of a service they can recommend.

  • IPod screen crooked/off center?

    Hi everyone,
I just wanted to see if anyone else has had any problems with their iPod screen being crooked or off-center. Specifically, it looks like the LCD is crooked inside of the casing of my iPod. I have now gone through 3 5th generation 60gb iPods, and they have all had noticebly crooked screens. The latest one that I received as a replacement is now relatively straight but is very much off-center through the viewing window in the casing of my iPod. Does anyone else have this problem, or am I just being picky? It is very distracting to me when I am watching videos, and since this is a big investment for me, I want to make sure I am getting the product in the right condition. Thanks for your help!!

Thanks. I searched the forums and only found a couple of other complaints, so I didn't know if it was just me or not! I called support today and they are sending me a box to send my ipod in for replacement. I don't want to be picky, but for almost $400, I would think I could get a straight and centered screen!

  • My new video iPod screen turns off

It keeps turning off in the middle of whatever I'm doing. I tried setting backlight to always on, have restored and reset several times. Is this a mechanical defect or can I correct it by changing a setting? Please help!

  • IPod turns off when screen turns off

When my iPod screen turns off so does the sound through the headphones.  I tried updates, different headphones, reboots.
    Any suggestions??
I was offered  6th generation for my 1st generation recalled nano, I regret switching now as my 1st generation was still going strong.

    Hi Bricky66,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're experiencing some unusual behavior with your iPod nano. I'd suggest some of the troubleshooting steps in this article:

    The headphones don't work
...If the issue appears to be with the iPod, try resetting it. If that doesn't work, then restore iPod with the latest iPod software using iTunes...

  • My iPod sceen popped off!?

I recently got my old gen 1 iPod back after replacing the screen. It is running iOS 6.1, not updating to 7 (which is slightly nice.). Last night, my iPod dropped and the screen came off the top. The iPod continued playing sound, and will still run voice over if I hold the home button. However, the screen in now black. It has no back light, or any view at all, and is unable to use touch. Therefore, I can't turn it off. I tried calling tech support, and they told me to turn it off, which I can't do. I tried treating it as the black screen of death, and the white screen, holding home and lock buttons and volume, etc etc. I tried to follow the steps to reset, restart, and even go into recovery mode. NOTHING has worked! The question I have is is there any way to get the screen to work, or does it need to be replaced? Thanks!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

However, I say it is not worth fixing unless y can get a used iPod very cheaply for parts

Why do I get a blue screen on the Ipod touch camera function occasionally and it is frozen?

I just baught a new iPod and had the "blue screen" problem with the camera. Your suggestion to "Reset" fixed the problem:

  • TS3694 Why does my ipod keeps powering off, and when I turned if on, I have to press down the power button and the screen button at the same time ???

Why does my ipod keeps powering off, when I have to turn it on ... I have to press on the power button and the screen button at the same time ??? over and over again. I just got this in December 2011 as a gift.

I am having similar 'freezing' problems with many programs (Mail, Safari, iTunes, etc.). I have done a clean install of Lion instead of an upgrade when it came out. Perhaps something went wrong with my install? I'm thinking about wiping and reinstalling.

  • Why is my iPod screen grey and unresponsive? Won't turn off too.

Why is my IPod screen grey and won't turn off using restart button?

as to why its gray, its either a glitch or something else. you need to turn it off and plug it into itunes and restore it. then sync it.

Apple at this time does not repair iPods, but assuming that that iPod is not in multiple pieces will replace the entire iPod for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/
There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to perform a repair for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair". It is also possible to purchase parts and find instructions on doing a repair yourself, though it's not particularly easy. Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPod serviced by an unauthorized shop or perform a repair yourself, all further support from Apple will be void.
    Regards.
