My iPod Screen is Messed Up...

Ok, so I was running outside with the nano in my pocket. When I was finished, I took the iPod out of my pocket to listen to it. When I took the hold off, the screen turned on, and it was all messed up. My friend told me the ink went all the way to one side and it probably did. How do I get it back to normal??
Thanks

  • My ipod screen is messed up its green

I pressed the home button a couple times, and then the screen turned different shades green! Help!! How do I fix this?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • My iPod Screen is Messed UP PLz Help

What can i use to remove scratches from my iPods Screen

Yeah, you usually won't get an iPod replaced for screen damage by Apple. Your problem does sound suspiciously like it getting "squashed" by something. Was something else on top of it in the drawer? Anyway, Apple is a business, and they do not want to pay if they don't have to. In your case, you got screwed over because it sounds like a typical screen crack due to negligence, even if it's not.
However, for $105, iPodResQ will replace your screen. There are other third party sites if for some reason you don't want to use them.
    Sorry

  • My ipod screen is messing up.

the screen appears to be dark and looks normal in the center but there is like this lighter area around the normal looking area. and the lighter area appears to have horizontal lines when flipping through the photos, turning the volume up or down, going through songs when it's on shuffle. the lighter area is really noticeable when its on a song that has no cover art. Should i get the screen fixed?
my ipod is a 4th generation ipod nano if that helps. and it's almost two years old.

    Hello katie,
Should i get the screen fixed?
Definitely sounds like a hardware issue, so yes.

  • The calibration on my iPod screen is messed up, I've done all the obvious things like restarting, and restoring and things like that. Please could someone tell me how I could fix it?

    What can I do?

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

My ipod screen is cracked and i can't sync my ipod to itunes because it is locked with a password and i can't enter the password because the heat sensor is messed up on the ipod becasue of the screen and i don't want to restore it and lose everything. What can i do?!

All you can do is to restore and thus erase the iPod unless you can get a data recovery company to preserve the data.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • IPod screen messed up

Ok I got a 60G Video IPod. the screen just went blank and can't do anything not even a restart, but when I use it with my car stereo and docking station it works fine but when trying to connect to computer it doesn't. Can someone help me out with this.

I am also having this same problem with my 30GB ipod. Works fine when just listening with head phones or on my docking station yet not on my computer. When i connect ipod to any computer the ipod screen fades out & the ipod becomes quite hot (more near the left hand side of control wheel) and my computer &/or i-tunes does not recognise it?? Does this mean its life is over?

  • The screen is messed up, how do I get it repaired?

I have the 60BG Video IPod, and I believe it needs repairs... A small while back, I was raking leaves while listening to music on it. I just turned it off in my pocket, so I didn't notice anything. Sometime during the next day, when I was going to watch a video, I noticed the screen is messed up. It just looks like someone burned a hole in the display, so nothing comes in correctly. The sound still works, just need to find my way to my sounds blindly... What I think I need to do is get Apple, or whomever, to reaplce the screen, but how do I go about doing so? Where on this site do I go, and what procedures do I go through to do this? I really doubt it's something covered in the warrenty, and I don't really care, I just want to be able to sent it in to get repaired... I want it back to being able to show videos and pictures, instead of it being a 60GB IPod Shuffle...

Two options. You can arrange online service from Apple here.

  • Help! My screen is messed up...

I was fooling around with Mac's displays and Safari's appearance, now my computer screen is messed up. Like right now, this page is only half of the screen size. How do I fix this? Would you please explain in detail what should I choose in order to have the full screen?

Can you access a Finder window to get to your preferences folder in your user Library? If so, drag the preferences folder to the desktop and reboot.

  • There's dust under my iPod screen--could I get it replaced?

    Hello there,
Recently there has been dust collecting underneath the screen of my iPod touch. It started off with just a few specks but now there's a whole noticeable army that is just making me frustrated. I did some research and most people said they got their iPod replaced because apple says the dust is covered under their warranty.
I wanted to try fixing it myself but I don't think it's such a good idea so I'm planning to take it to the apple genius bar. My iPod is still under warranty until June.
The thing is--I've never protected my iPod. The whole back of my iPod is just messed as in all bruised and scratched up. No dents or bends or anything but just scratched. My screen side is okay but there are a few noticeable small scratches here and there. Would Apple take this all into account and consider the dust my fault or something? Everyone knows thatthe back of iPods are scratch magnets so we can't really be blamed...
    Thanks,
    Nach

The only way to know is to take it to the Genius Bar.

  • Screen looks messed up

    Hey,
I just bought an ipod touch 32 GB first generation from somebody off of ebay used. The screen is messed up. Blotches of light and dark areas spread across the screen. It almost looks like a cloud background behind everything. It's much more noticeable when the backlight is on and when I'm in an app that has a white background. It is almost invisible in the black home screen, but you could still see a little light spilling out at the top of the screen. Please see pictures below. Did anybody ever see something like this before? Is it going to cause problems? Can it be fixed? The unit works great otherwise; however, the water damage sticker in the headphone jack has been activated.

How likely does it seem that it is water damage that messed up the screen? Do you think there is actually water in there?
It wasn't listed as water damaged. I already contacted the ebay seller and he offered a 50% refund, but since it works fine, I said I would be happy with less and took $75 off of the original $190 I paid. Bad choice?
I plan on reselling this because I wanted the 2nd generation (made a mistake when bidding). Do you think I could sell it for $115? I see ones on ebay go for $70-$80 that won't even turn on.

  • IPod screen goes black & heats up when connecting to computer - pls help!!

I posted this same question on somebody else's post but thought id post it under a different subject so someone may be able to help.
Im having a problem with my 30GB ipod in that it works fine when just listening with head phones, on my docking station or via my car stereo yet not on computer. When i connect ipod to any computer the ipod screen fades out, goes black & then the ipod becomes quite hot (more near the left hand side of control wheel) and both computer & i-tunes does not recognise it?? Does anybody have any ideas or have had the same problem and fixed it? I pod is nearly 2.5yrs old. thanks

Have you tried a different USB port or a different USB docking cable? It is also possible that the part of the iPod that charges the battery is faulty, or perhaps the battery itself. If it's a 4th gen iPod, the battery is located under the click wheel, more to the left side than to the right. I don't have a 5th gen "video" iPod, but based on the guide here
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPod/iPod-5th-Generation-Video/95
the battery appears to be toward the top of the iPod.
FYI - Here's the guide for the 4th gen iPod.
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPod/iPod-4th-Generation/93
Whatever the problem, it appears to be related to charging the battery.
