Apple doesn't repair it. If there is no sign of abuse, they replace it with a refurbished unit. The fixed-price for non-warranty replacements can be found here.

I have purchased a secondhand ipad from eBay and to reset it to factory settings it is asking for itunes log in details. I have messaged the person that i bought it from in hope that he can help. but I was wondering if there's another way to reset it without this password.

My iTouch touch screen will not work. When I go to unlock it, to slide the thing on the bottom of the screen, it doesn't even seem to sense that the screen is being touched. Also, because of this, I cannot turn it off because the screen doesn't know I'm trying to slide the power off slide on the screen. I have tried holding the power button and the button on the bottom to reset it, but it didn't help. Is there anything else I could try?
If it still does it after a restore, you most likely have a bad screen digitizer. Contact Apple and get it repaired.

Try holding down the on/ff and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, it can take up to 30 sec.

If you have set a Passcode you need to Enter it to unlock and use your device.
1) If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to Restore the device...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore...

If you are referring to the Find My iPhone service, then if a device has been reset, then no, it can no longer be tracked.

I purchased the display version of my Macbook Pro at a navy exchange. The woman working at the store did not know how to reset to factory so I took it home as was. I have been using it for about a month and the laptop had Pages and Keynote on it already. I just reset to factory settings and it now has neither. Is there a way to get these back for free? I think my computer purchase makes it eligible to have these apps for free but since I reset it they are gone.
Go to the App Store where you can purchase copies of the apps. You cannot get them for free. The ones installed belonged to the previous owner. You will need to purchase using your Apple ID.

Wifi and Bluetooth disappeared after reset laptop to Factory settings
After reset my PC to factory settings realized that the wireless and bluetooth were not working. The problem is not with my home network, since all other devices are working great The F12 (wi-fi) hot key is orange and does not turn on. When button is hit just changes to airplane mode on/off. There are no option of wireless devices or icons or whatever to access this. Wireless and bluetooth just disapeared. At the device manager, the only driver found in Device Manager\Network Adapters is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. Nothing about wireless. Everything is gone. Accessed the HP support and installed several different network drivers, but nothing happens. Tried to do another factory reset, problem persisted. Exactly same occuring to Bluetooth. They always worked fine, till the factory reset. Don't now what else to do, some say that may be a hardware malfunction, but I think it is weird, always worked great and it changed immediatly after the factory reset. In my opinion seems more like a software than a hardware issue, caused by the reset. Could anyone give a help with that? Tks a lot

Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system it has built in Wireless troubleshooting assistance. It will show you how to make sure the Wireless is on. Here is a document on Airplane mode. If Airplane mode is on you cannot use your WiFi or Bluetooth, so Airplane mode should off and no Ethernet cable connected for the Wireless troubleshooting. I hope this helps you connect. Thanks. -

Force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times. -
