My ipod (second generation) turn on once in a while

My Ipod 2 ios 4.2.1 doesn't turn on when i want it to but (sometimes) when it does, it tell me to connect it on itune on the computer. but no computer detects my ipod ... what can i do to fix it?? please HELP!!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I've got an iPod touch second generation running 4.2.1 but he crashes a lot times. i've got no jailbreak and 1.9GB left.
when he crash, he start up again or I see weird things that doesn't have to be there.
I tried a soft-reset and restore, what can I do?
Please help me.

Restore as new to factory settings and start over. If there was an existing problem and you just restore from backup, the problem may return. Other than that your device is probably Outside of apples warranty period so it might be time to upgrade to a newer unit. How can i download apps for a ipod second generation

I have an ipod 2nd generation, i know i can't download the ios4 or 5, but i cant download any apps because i need to update but i can't. is there any way around this?

Mate, this really isn't hard to understand.
I bought my ipod touch, have had apps on it since i bought it (i.e. sheep launcher free), they have always worked. I recently formatted my ipod and re-installed the 4.3 update, and as the posters here state, the apps which USED TO WORK FINE now say "requires ios5" or "requires ios 4.4" before downloading, both of which are incompatible with the ipod, making most of the apps that used to work fine completely unatainable.
Why are apps we have ALWAYS used now completely unavailable? Apple, are you really trying to deterr your customers into purchasing a newer device? Why would you want to intentionally annoy your clientele?
Fix this problem please, or you've lost a dedicated customer. I have over 5 ipods. I won't be buying another one if this kinda thing continues - you just forgot about your customers with older devices, i mean microsoft still produce updates for XP, an OS over 10 years old. Why can you not extend the same support for your older customers?

Why isn't my iPod (5th Generation) turning on all the way?

Okay earlier my iPod died and I plugged it in, while it was charging I was about to open my message app. Right when I clicked on it my iPod died or did something anyways. Now whenever I turn it on I just see the white apple logo for several seconds and the screen goes black again. I charged my iPod for about 5 hours so I don't think it's dead. I have tried holding down the home and power button together several times and it still hasn't turned all the way back on yet...and it wont connect to iTunes because it wont turn on all the way...what do I do?
( I haven't done the most recent update either so it's still iOS 8.1.2)

Ipod screen wont turn on once disconnected from the PC

pls help ,
i bought a new ipod nano from the nearest retailer.i got it charged by connecting it to pc.the ipod screen shows signs of charging but its not getting fully charged.Though i have put the ipod to charged over 12 hours and synced some songs to it.when i eject the i pod from charger the display shuts down and does not turn on until i replug the ipod to charger. pls help., whereas the ipod works fine once its connected to the usb port and shows as charging., pls help.,

Suggestion: UNcheck "Open iTunes when this iPod is attached" in Settings. Then EJECT and disconnect. Take it to your friend's computer and see IF it charges faster...
IF it does, you need to understand why YOUR computer's USB port(s) don't supply sufficient power to charge your Shuffle.

Hi , I have been trying the connect apple shuffle ipod with windows 8 However I'm unable to connect .
I tried following troubleshooting steps.
Action :- Tried to reset the shuffle ipod
Result- Successfully able to reset the ipod But still unable to connect to windows 8
Action :- Tried to connect on other computer with same cable ( Windows7 )
Result :- It is working fine.
Action :-Tried to install the drivers from C:\Program files \Common files \ Drivers
Result :- Getting Yellow sign mark in device manager with error code Code 10 device cannot start .
Action :- Tried to delete the microsoft upper filter and lower filter
Result :- Successfully able to do that But unable to detect the ipod
Action :- Tried to install the latest version of i-tunes 11.1.5
Result :- Successfully able to do that .However there is no luck.
Action :- Tried to reboot the system . Perform the power cycle of the ipod and laptop
Result :-Unable to detect the ipod
Action :- Tried to change the different USB ports
Result :- Still unable to detect

Ipod second Generation sound quality problem.

Hello there,
i´ve been using my nano for 1 year without any problems, with the first version (i think 1.1.3) that came with the equipment.
The sound quality was great until i update it to the last FW. The sound quality is terrible. Very very bad.
Please, how can i reinstall the old version of the FW?

I'm having the same problem. If you find a solution please let me know. Ever since I installed the last update my nano sound quality is awful when I try to play it in my car via my iPod connector or use headphones.

My brother's iPod touch 4 crashes every once and a while on all games

My little brother's iPod touch 4g 8gb suddenly crashes in all his games.
I have to restart it every time because it wont let enter any game, after restarting it, they work again, but then around 3 or 4 hours of playing, they crash again!!!
I have an iPhone 4 16gb with half of the games he has, but all the ones he plays most, and from all of the 72 apps and games i have installed, they never crash. I barely have to restart or shut down my iPhone for any reason.
Does restarting it lots of times afect the battery life of the iPod?
If so, how can i prevent this from happening every time.
I cant restore it because its jailbreaked and he doesnt want to lose anything.
If there is a solution for it without having to restore, i would really appreciate if anyone could help me, if restoring is the only option then ill try and see if i can do anything.
And by the way, this isnt so important since he doesnt use iMessage or Timeface, but he cant activate it, after choosing the mail to use with it, it just loads but then it returns to the first part, where it tells you a short description of what is does and the activate button. That happens successively making him unable to activate niether of them.
