My ipod Shuffle 4g turns on the button lock as soon i turn on my ipod!

Hello, I turned my Ipod Shuffle 4th gen on as Normal, but as soon I Turned it on, the button lock turns on automatically, and becomes unresponsive, I cant turn it off! I Can only somehow control my ipod with the remote on my headphones... is there a soulution?????

GOD i did pretty much the same think , idropped mine on a chair nd it dented on the lower volume button and at first there was this crack on the screen like a smurf punched the volume button nd left a crater. After i touched the crack a little bit freaking out, the whole screen went white with a small black spot( like the one on yours, but ALOT smaller) after a little while , like 10 min in my pocket, i could see the top of the screen normally(enough to see the time and date while its locked, but the spot is still there nd the rest of the screen is really white. i can make out things easier on the right side, but everything on the left is bright and distorted as if the loer part of the screen was cut in half nd the left side slid down.
But anyways i dont think we can fix this , ive tried pushing out the dent nd now my ipod just has seisures( the screen flashes like a strobe light as it goes from white and distorted to normal nd back)
Might just hav to pay the $99 for apple to replace/repair it

IPod Nano Buttons locked up

My son got a brand new black iPod Nano for X-mas and within 2 days the buttons locked up. I tried resetting it by holding the Menu and middle button at the same time...several times. That did not work. Then I hooked it up to iTunes and Reset it to factory settings. After it went thru the process it asked what language I wanted, but no buttons will work to select. On 8 Jan 09, I contacted Apple help desk (as in a live person, not the recorded tech support recording) and asked for a "live" tech support person and actually got one! After walking me through steps other than the already tried, support tech said I would need a replacement. The next day (9 Jan 09), got a box from Apple from FedEx, put my IPod in it and off it went to Apple. Today (12 Jan 09) I came home from Physical Therapy and on my table waiting for me was my brand new IPod and a letter stating that my problem (non-functioning buttons and stuck on Language page) was a defect and enclosed was my replacement brand new IPod. It is working great.
Answer: If it's broken, talk to a live person at Apple and get it replaced.

Is possible button block of volume in ip phone 6921, researched in internet, I found the option Minimum Ring Volume but no the Maximum or block the button, locking the volume and set fixed volume.

You need to mention the call control agent you use, and version, and not just what you want to achieve.

So far i've been very pleased, with this being my first mp3 player
setup was easy and i dont much mind having to use the library to add mp3's; all the features are great, but my player seems to have a serious problem as of recent:
whenever i select and play a specific album, my buttons lock up and i can only use the scroll wheel to scroll around in a menu i cant use; this problem continues until the album is completely finished playing and then i suddenly have control of my mp3 player all over again; i have the button lock feature disabled, and none of my settings indicate any sort of a "button lock when idle" feature that i've enabled/disabled; this is very frustrating as im having to remind myself to just play my entire collection in shuffle mode to have any control
im sorry if this problem has already been addressed but i searched the forums for about an hour and couldnt find if anyone else has had the same problem
if a format or installation of new firmware is required (or suggested) then please link me to the post(s) that explain how to do so

You should definitely try a disk cleanup. To access the Rescue Mode hold down the play button and KEEP it held down, press the tiny reset switch once, and KEEP the play button held down until the player boots into the Rescue Mode. Choose Disk Cleanup from the menu. Note: Disk cleanup should not remove your tracks. It searches through the disk for files and rebuilds the index, and can be useful for correcting any strange behaviour.
If this doesn't help, and as you mentioned, try reloading the firmware. Instructions for this are here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net.

Im using Ipod shuffle 4th gen...And I am not able to stop the songs getting shuffled....For example I want my ipod the play the songs one by one...but its not working...Its shuffling songs by default...I mean the button which stops shuffling the songs(the on off button when placed in the iddle stops shuffling songs) is NOT working....What to do?

If you are trying to play a playlist in the order shown for that playlist (in iTunes), you need to be IN the playlist on the shuffle. You may be in the main "all songs" list on the shuffle, and not a particular playlist. Note: You can have multiple playlists on 4th (and 3rd) gen shuffle, which is why there is a separate "all songs" list.

To get the iPod in recovery mode and DFU mode you first have to turn the iPod off.
Just what is the problem you are tying to resolve?
Sometimes you have to let the battery fully drain if you can't turn the iPod off. After charging for at least hour try again.

Did you restore from backup?
Next would be to restore to factory settings/new iPod since maybe you have some corruption in the backup

You can work through the five 5 R's of troubleshooting to rule out the possibility of corrupted software.

It might also be a good idea to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore it once more in iTunes.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display, meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service either via Apple or a third party repair service. Here is Apple's repair pricing.

Note that they don't actually repair the device, but exchange it for one of the same generation, model, and capacity. A third party service will actually replace the damaged part for a little less. Google "iPod screen repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.

- Are you also having problems with the Home button? Maybe it is sticking a little since to take a screen shot you depress the Home and Power/Sleep buttons at the same time.
- I have not seen your problem discussed here before.
- I would first try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next would be to restore the iPod via iTunes. First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

You are going to have to take it to the Apple Store to see if they can do anything for you. The Home button is critical for using your device. You need to get it fixed.

First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
This fixes many little annoyances like this. Hope it works for you.
