My ipod starts voicing song data, artist data, and playlist data while I am listening to music. Is this a feature or a defect? I do not know why it occurs, but the only way to stop it is to stop the music then play the playlist again.

To make sure voiceover is off, you need to go to summary screen then click the "Configure Universal Access" button. Then you will get a dialog where you can make sure voiceover is off. All of the boxes in the dialog should be unchecked.

If this is regarding your information line that says a stolen iPhone, Apple can do nothing to help you. You must track the iPhone yourself using iCloud and must have turned on Settings > iCloud > Find My Phone before it was stolen. If that was not done, there is no way to track the iPhone.
Report the theft to the police and the cell service provider and ask if they can blacklist the iPhone so it cannot be used. Change all passwords associated with acconts on the iPhone.

It's probably a notification, for example when a new email arrives. Check the preferences for the apps you have open at the time.

This is the second macbook pro i have owned in the past two weeks. I am ready to return it for good if this is a chronic issue. Please help if you have had this same issue.

Firewall is not working: The only way to access this forum is disabling it!

Using Leopard Server 10.5.2:
First: If I want to check this discussion forum, If I have enabled the firewall I can´t reach this pages or post it. If I disable the firewall then I can access the Apple discussions forum and post here!
Second: In firewall If I want to check (read-send) mail via entourage in this server. I can not connect to the servers. I enabled all the ports that says SSL, email,mail,etc, but I can not connect to the SSL servers to check email. The only way to red-send email is disabling the firewall!
The next one is realated to SAFARI:
Third: If I open Safari and I try to open Hotmail.I can not access Hotmail via Safari. trying to opening that site is impossible. a link in hotmail is detected with an internal address of 10.x.x.x. (which my computer does not have). Then the only way that I have to access hotmail via Safari is disabling the firewall, then the page is opened!
Fourth: I can not read the hotmail mails inside entourage. .. again, the only way to read and send mails from hotmail in entourage is by disabling the firewall!!!

If music etc was purchased from itunes store then go to the itunes app on ipad and check purchased to see what you can redownload for free.
Assume you can't sync the iPad as you are on Tiger with old iTunes version.

Airport is the trade name Apple uses for WiFi. The Mac built-in WiFi hardware is called Airport. The Apple manufactured WiFi base station(s) router are called Airport Extreme and Airport Express (the Apple Time Capsule is also a WiFi base station/router).
A Mac can connet to other manufactures WiFi base stations.
You can also connect to a WiFi bridging device via ethernet and get WiFi access that way, although BDAqua's suggestion of a USB WiFi device might make more sense if it is a Mac laptop.
If you are NOT talking about WiFi, and perhaps talking about using the cell phone cellular network, then you can use Bluetooth to pair your Mac with a cell phone that has the ability to act as a cellular modem for your Mac, you can get a MiFi device that acts as a local WiFi base stations and connects to the Cellular network, and you can get cellular USB devices that can provide cellular connections for the Mac.

It doesn't defeat the purpose to lower the resolution. When you choose the size you can read, the extra pixels are used to make the text and graphics more detailed, closer to the high print resolution humans have been accustomed to reading on paper for hundreds of years. That is the difference compared to the coarse screen resolution of a conventional (non-Retina) screen.

Today, my FCC complaint hit the same person working on the BBB complaint. Jimmie has been very nice and seems willing to work with this problem. We have been able to come to an agreement. I paid the purchase price for the phone and he returned my upgrade and unlimited data plan. This is what would have occurred if Verizon had given me correct information to begin with. I am happy with this result. He also brought quite a few instances concerning the handling of my transfer and upgrade that did not follow proper procedure. I am also confident that I would not have resolved this without complaining to BBB and or FCC. Verizon had no interest in solving the problem nor did they show any propensity to keeping a 20 year client. Even though this last CSR was very polite and helpful, his sole job is to respond to formal Federal and State complaints. He is required by law to address every complaint and report the reporting agency the agreed upon results - good or bad. Again, I suggest - If you are not getting the proper customer service, complain to someone outside of Verizon. Jimmie had not received any complaints registered with Verizon directly and I still have not had any contact with any other management representative that I was told would call.

IOS6 on iphone 4S. My phone keeps disconnecting from my wifi. I have to input the password each time. The only way i can keep wifi connected is to disable cellular data....what's with this????!!!!!

I downloaded IOS6. The next day my iphone was not connecting to wifi. I reset network connections...put in my password and voila it worked!....But then it dosconnected again..and again...and again....my wifes iphone 4 is not having this problem and she also installed IOS6. Is it a BT Yahoo account? If so, there have been quite a few threads about Yahoo constantly rejecting passwords, with no clear fix.
That said, I did see someone post that they'd resolved the problem by eliminating any capital letters from the password. After that it stopped asking for passwords and started working, apparently. One or two others tried the 'fix' and seemed to have the same success. At least they haven't come back to say it had gone wrong again.

You must restore it, losing anything you have failed to backup or store on your computer or cloud service.

Central 5.4 stops printing, a reboot of the server is the only way to fix the problem

Hi, We are running central 5.4 on windows 2000 SP4, this has worked for ages but has just started with an intermittent fault. Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

Find and delete any and all .ipsw files on your computer. There should only be one, but delete all that you find. Next, disable ALL firewalls & security software on your computer. Connect your phone, iTunes running & restore from backup. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone.
This will force iTunes to re-download the .ipsw file, as I suspect yours is corrupt.

I have a Sonos system in my house and suddenly discovered that many songs I bought off of iTunes years ago are 'grayed out' when I try to play them from my iPhone or do not appear as options at all when I try to play them on Sonos from my overall music library. I agree it was not all communicated real well, but in your case it will work out. You missed the program where you could have upgraded 100 tracks for 30 cents each (=$30) but now you can do it via Match (=$25). It works pretty simply, per this document:

You need to delete the original DRM song from your library first. Doing this enables you to download the song again in the iTunes Plus format from iTunes in the Cloud.
Click the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store.
Click Music.
Locate the artist of the song you want to upgrade.
Click the iCloud Download icon next to the song you want to upgrade.
Just don't forget to put the Plus files on your hard drive -- properly backed up of course -- and to cancel the Match subscription before the second year rolls around!
