You do not have a virus. As of right now there is no known virus for iOS devices.
What you got was a malicious ad that may have tried to install something, however since you were on an iPad and not a PC, it couldn't install.
Those ads either install malware or try to trick you into paying them to clean up a mess that either isn't there or that they just made.
Ignore it. Go into the settings, safari and clear your history - just to get rid of the trail and move on.

Then that means that the user that you are trying to reach has not setup and registered Messages on their iDevice. They have to set it up first before you can reach them. And you can only message with other iOS users, not with Android devices or other cell phones.

Because Apple's currently having trouble with the iMessage and FaceTime servers. Nothing can be done from your end.

Inbox says I have unread messages but I can't find them

My inbox says I have 45 unread messages (and the number gets higher every day) but I can't find them. I have gone through all my emails but everything has been read. How do I fix this?

This was driving me crazy as well. Here is how I solved it:
1. Right click on Inbox and Mark all as read
2. Go to each subfolder and Mark All Read
3. Run outlook.exe /cleanviews (enter it in Start panel to run this command)
4. Close Outlook and restart as Administrator
5. Again Mark all read (repeat in subfolders)
6. Close and restart normally
The unread count disappeared. No clue where this ghostly email resided, but given that I checked
all subfolders, I feel ok that I did not miss anything. Be sure to check your rules too, in case you are moving incoming messages and don't remember setting up such a rule.

Tips for clearing that unread message... try them in order.
If you have a rogue New Message icon on your Homescreen, or a negative count (-1), any one of these solutions could clear it, or reset it to zero:
Try these options:
* Hard Reset the BlackBerry by holding ALT, CAP (right Shift key), and DEL (or with the BlackBerry powered ON, remove the battery and reinserting the battery)
* View Messages > Saved Messages
* View Messages > View Folders, check each folder (missed calls, SMS in and out boxes, MMS in and out boxes, Saved, browser, phone logs etc)
* Scroll to top of message folder, over the date heading, click or press menu to MARK PRIOR OPEN
* Change your theme and see if it persists, and change back to your desired theme. (Options > Theme > select.)
* Wipe and reload your OS.

no what I meant was I have read through what information it gave me when I asked the question and other than checking my wifi or checking my iMessage is on or checking my number and email address was correct I didn't think that the information applied to my specific problem so that is why I asked the question? My in-box shows 6 unread messages but I can't open them. They must be current. How do I open them?

How big are those messages? Perhaps they are taking too long to download. If you have access to a web interface to those same messages, you may be able to preview/delete them or deal with them otherwise.

After you have updated the apps. go to settings - itunes/app store - click on the apple id - view apple id and enter your new apple id and password. Then check and see if you can download new ones.

My bookmarks disappeared. The health report says I have 289, but I can't access them.

I opened firefox and all my bookmarks were gone. There is only 1 backup, it is from this morning and it contains only the default bookmarks. However, when I go to the health report it says I have 289 bookmarks, so it knows they are there somewhere.

I can send iMessages but I can't receive them?

Like the title says, i can send iMessages from my iPhone 5 but if anyone sends me a message it only comes in as a text message. I've tried resetting my network settings and turning off imessage and my phone but nothing seems to be working.

Just to be clear, iMessages can only be sent between Apple devices.

This would be the case if your number had not been ported yet. However, not sure why it's still isn't done. I got my phone today. Activated and requested the number port through iTunes; within an hour or so my number had been ported. I ported my number from T-mobile.
