My ipod touch 1st gen says its connected to wifi, but when i go on safari it stops at "connecting" with a grey screen, what should i do, my router is fine, cause my brothers iphone 4th gen works, but my ipod touch 1st gen dosen't?

Try restarting your router by removing power to it for 30 seconds. This may correct the problem.

Have you held the menu and left arrow together for 6 secs ? (I think you have from what you say).

After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?
My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite. -

If your iPad has no front or back cameras, then you have an original iPad 1.
The original iPad 1 cannot be upgraded any further than iOS 5.1.1.

My iphone 3gs isn't playing the music on my music app. It suddenly stopped after I restarted it on my computered and used icloud. Now the music won't play that's just on my phone. Pandora and other stuff plays fine but the music I bought myself won't play. Even on my idock clock it won't play. Please help, it's getting really annoying and frustrating living like this. I love technology but now I'm starting to hate it.

It might be worth attempting a restart of the iPhone, and then a reset, should restarting fail to resolve the issue.

I use an external HD (WD My Passport) to store my iPhoto photos. When I copied these up on another EHD (WD My Passport Ultra): thumbnails, and a lot of the photos did not copy (show "!"). Now 1st HD says its on a locked volume? Why?
Right before the coping finished (started with a 40 hour copy time (I know it's estimated), and with about 30 minutes left, a window popped up and said there was a name conflict between the two HD. Then it wrapped things up in a minute or so. We had formatted the new EHD for Mac. What happened?Oh my! Obviously, I don't know what I'm doing. But I do know that my goal was to do both---backup AND free some space. My iMAc is old (2006) and I upgraded it a year or so ago to Snow Leopard. I didn't think I had the capability of backing up without an external drive, but maybe I do since I upgraded. Do I?
But I bought this My Book mostly for freeing space because I like to make cards in Photoshop and I'm forever running out of space when I get too many layers (don't really know what I'm doing there, either).
Is there some way that I can rectify my mistakes and start all over?
Thank you so much for beng so prompt with your reply and patient with mine. I tried for so long to see the dialog box with the library listings. When I launched iPhoto, even with holding down the Option key, it kept immediately launching into the full screen. Finally, after an hour of doing it over and over again, it worked when I held the key down for 5 minutes. Then when I was typing my reply, I kept getting a message to "Request Time Out." Didn't know how to do that, so kept hitting the OK button and kept typing for another half minute. Finally, when ready to send, Safari couldn't do it. "Try again" exasperated me until I realized I would have to begin again and use Firefox. When I got there and ready to type, I got the message that my message had been retrienved and did I want to use it?!!

Ultimately, if the guy who handled the return at the store didn't enter it into the system correctly, or if the paperwork was somehow lost, or anything else along those lines, your refund receipt is the only thing you have proving that they owe you money. If you have lost that receipt, it's quite possible that you will have lost the money that it represents.
Go to the store. Talk to the manager. Try to recall which person at the store handled the return, and see if they remember you. Be polite but insistent, and remember that without the receipt, you are depending on those people to help you out. -
what do i do if my internet is wep and i need it to be wpa2 because my ipod touch 4th gen connects to the internet but when i click on safari or itunes it says safari cannot open the page because its not connected to the internet. i have contacted apple support and they said to change from wep to wpa2 but when i change it to wpa2 and type in password and connect on my laptop it says the saved setting on this computer for the network do not match the require ments of the network
My 2nd gen works fine with WPA2 and AES encryption.
You may need to go back and start over. Reset the router back to factory defaults, log on as the admin, set up security, DHCP, and make sure the IP address pool has enough IP addresses to lease to ALL of the computers/devices that will connect to that the router. -

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer

You need to "authorize" the Mac.
Launch iTunes on the Mac then from the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Authorize This Computer.
Now, using the same Apple ID as you used to purchased iTunes media originally, you should be able to sync all your content.
