My iPod Touch 2nd generation won't connect to the Internet

After restoring my iPod Touch 2nd gen to factory settings because that's what iTunes advised me to do after doing the iTunes update a week ago, my iPod won't connect to the internet anymore. I was able to connect to our wifi but it won't go to any website, to iTunes, etc. I'm 100% sure the problem isn't our wifi because I'm using it right now with my laptop so it's not the wireless problem. Before restoring my iPod to factory settings iti has always worked and I never had a problem connecting it. I tried restoring it again but it still didn't work. I already also reset our router but still no luck. I wish someone could help me asap!! Thank you.

    You can try:
    - reset:

    First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

    The product i am using is a Ipod touch 5th Generation, version 8.1. On friday i had laid my ipod on my jacket which was laying on my mom truck and i went to play basketball. So when i got back it was off, at first i thought it died but the ipod was cold. It wasnt turning on i put it on the charger and it still wouldnt turn on. So i kept it on the charger all night and in the morning (saturday 10/25/14) it turned back on. So i went to the wifi to connect to my home wifi and it said no wifi is found. So i reset the network settings on my ipod and turned off the wifi box for 30 seconds then turned both back on and it still said theres no wifi. I followed every step but it still doesnt show any wifi. I tried to enter it manually but it keep saying "Could not find the network". But when i do it on my brothers phone it works. Can someone please help me get wifi back on my Ipod touch. I did all the steps but still nothing work.

    Power down and wait 5-10 minutes

    Just bought a used Ipod touch and I am unable to get it to be recongized by itunes or my computer (MacBook pro using Lion).
    Computer - Itunes all updated.  I tried to restore unit (sleep and hold buttons) but I can't get past he "connect to Itunes" screen.
    Same result on two other windows computers.
    USB cord does work for charging the unit (in wall outlet, not from computer).  Is there a different cord for older units? (I'm using the one with my Iphone 4)

    Recently whenever I try to connect to our home wifi it hasn't been connecting, all that comes up is that loading spinning circle thing that means it's trying to connect. No matter how long I leave it, it doesn't connect. I don't think it is the router or network connection as my brothers iPod connects and works fine as usual, and I don't think it is a hardware issue relating to wifi connection because I can connect to my friends network just fine.     My ipod touch 2nd generation will not connect to the internet. I am using a BT modem and this is a new problem. Until recently, I had no problem with this connection and it will connect to BT Fon and BTOpenworld. I just cannot get it to connect at home any more. I also use a macbook pro and this is connected to the bt modem.

    My iPod Touch (4th generation) won't connect to my house wifi that it's always connected to. I tried forgetting the network, and putting the password in again, several times. I've tried restarting my iPod, turning the wifi on & off, and also turning the router off and back on but none of this has helped. After I forgot the network and typed the password back in it just kept saying 'loading' and eventually it stops loading but still doesn't connect. It also shows other peoples wifi's but I haven't tried to connect to theres to see if it works.     My Ipod touch 2nd generation won't turn on, except when I plug it in. When it's plugged in, it works fine, but when I unplug it, the screen turns black. The secont i plug it in again, it shows the apple logo as if i shut it down. When unplugged, it is unresponsive, i've tried everything with the home button and power button, doesn't move, it's just black. I've reset the Ipod, I know it is not a software issue. Sometimes it works, but as soon as i push the sleep button it doesn't turn back on till plugged back in. The battery's bad, but it can still last up to 30 minutes. I don't think it's worth buying a new battery, may as well buy an Ipod 5. (pretty cool)

    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer

    Hi all,
    My iPod Touch 2nd generation is running OS 3.1.2 on iTunes 9.0.2, Mac OS 10.6.1. It recently automatically removed all the photos from my iPod Touch and won't let me sync them anymore. I go to the Photos tab on iTunes and the albums/events I want to sync are selected, but when I hit the sync button, I can read the status on the iTunes window stating it's syncing music, then contacts, then whatever, and when it comes to photos, it just flashes "syncing photos" for a millisecond and keeps on going. No error messages, nothing. At the end, no photos are on my iPod and the memory status bar on iTunes shows I have a certain GB of music, apps, other, but no photos.
    I've tried to sync all everything from iPhoto just to give it a try, with no luck.
    Any ideas?
    I've tried to restore my iPod, it works for the first sync, but when I connect the iPod the second time, it removes all the photos again.

    uncheck the Photos Sync and hit Sync. Let it finish. Then go back and check it again and hit Sync. See if that works.

    Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your iPod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
    Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
    Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
    When you connect your device for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
    Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPod for the first time.
    Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
