My Ipod Touch 3g has a stuck slider, can anyone help?
About three days ago my ipod 3g suddenly died on me after rebooting and restoring to factory settings it finally came back alive and was able to sync my music, however the slider is now not wanting to work. No matter how many times I try to slide it over to open it will not work. My ipod 3g is pretty old (3yrs+) has never given me problems except before this issue my ipod would shut me out of safari/app and when I played a purchased song I would have to play the track before the song I wanted so it could play (or else it would kick me out of my music player). I don't know what's going on and there is no warranty for repair. I want to fix my ipod but if its too much to fix then I will upgrade. So I hope someone has some good advice for me! Thanks in advance for any assistance!
All you can do is try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPOd
If you still have the problem then you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

So I have an 8gb iPod Touch 1 generation. My ipod touch has a frozen screen and all it shows is the iTunes logo with the small white arrow and usb cord. I also think it is locked, plus I forgot my password . Anyways I connected my ipod touch to my pc (window xp) and itunes says that "iTunes could not connect to the iPod Touch because it is locked with a password. You must enter your password on the ipod before it can be used with itunes". The reason i connected it was to see if i can restore it but i guess it didnt work. Oh and one other thing my home button is not working, I guess its stuck.
to put it in dfu mode power off the power off the device by any means necessary. Once turned off, you should first press and hold the Home Button. Then, while holding the home button, connect the dock conector to the device and keep holding the home button untill an iTunes message appears that says "iTunes has detected an device in recovery mode."
With DFU mode, the steps are the same except, you would also hold the sleep wake button and the home button before connecting the device to the computer. Then connect the cable to the device and let go of only the sleep/wake button at the top of the device.
This method differs depending on the device and the person you talk to, but for me, this works when needed if the above steps are followed. -

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ... -
I am unable to install itunes onto my pc. I am unable to find where it saves it or even if it has saved it. Can anyone help?
itunes 11 has a specific spec that needs to be met before you can install it. Please verify from this if your pc pass the requirement from this link

Unless otherwise specified, in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp. However, if you want to know for sure for your system, download something (if you haven't already) and do a search for that specific dwnld. Then, drill down to the containing folder. -

Whenever I connect my iphone 3GS to my PC through a USB. My itunes software comes up automatically.
1. After that a message appears from the itunes that states that 'itunes could not connect to the itunes store, an unknown error cccured (306).
2. After the above, an alert message comes up which states that A new iphone software version 5.1 is availlable for my iphone. It then states would you like to download it and update your iphone now? With the options buttons as Cancel or Download and Update or Download Only. Whenever I clicked on Download and Update or Download Only, the next message that comes up is that The iphone Software Update Server Could not be Contacted and suggest make sure your network setting are correct and active or try again later.

I have a PowerBook G4 17" and need Apple discs to set it up again. Mine lost during move. Screen seems damaged, has vertical lines. Can anyone help. I can call as I have unlimited calling on my iPhone 6 anywhere in North America.

If your Powerbook's serial number (do not post it here) starts with "W8" then the vertical lines are mostly likely due to a defect in the display itself. W8 is a factory code and, during the iMac G5 and PowerBook G4 timespan, that factory shipped thousands of units with the same defect. It cannot be fixed via software.
As all PowerBooks are now classed as "obsolete," an Apple Store will not work on it. They will look at it ands tell you it has vertical lines and that they cannot fix it. This Apple article shows Apple devices they curently considered obsolete:

It is possible that some Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASP) will still work on older computes but they cannot get neededparts from Apple. As this issue was so pervassive, it wil be hard for you or an AASP to find a used/pulled display that is not effected with the "W8 Curse."
Although I love the old PowerBooks, I would not even spent the money for disks, much less the US$150-400 it would cost to replace the display, even should one be available.
If you give us a rough idea of where you are in the world, we can suggest repair shops specializing in fixing older Mac notebooks, but be aware those resources may be rather scare outside North America. -

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries. -

A number of people have complained of this happening to their iPads. The only recommendation I've seen is to shut down and restart the device. Do this by holding down the power button and "Home" button together for ~ 10 seconds. A red slider will appear asking if you want to shut down. After shutting down the iPad, restart by holding down the power button until you see the Apple logo appear.

TS1363 IPOD classic not baing recognised in itunes, can anyone help me please?
i habve an ipod classic when i first used it it was fine but then it started stopping syncing half way through saying there was an error and my songs would cut off half way through or just not play now when i connect it to the computer it dosent show up in itunes but does in my computer. i messege in my itunes pops up saying i need to restore my ipod yet my ipod dosent show up in itunes to do this. i have tried uninstalling intunes and reinstalling it again i have tried using a different laptop but nothing works can anyone help me please?

My organizer works fine but when I try to open the editor, the load bar comes up but then disappears and it never opens. It worked about a month ago but I tried to open it Saturday and it didn't work. I've read a bunch of forums and still can't find any way to fix it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times, my computer is updated, I've tried the control, alt, shift key thing, nothing has worked. Can anyone help me fix this problem? With my new iPhone 6 Plus. Connectinge 6 Plus. Connecting Bluetooth to my Prius bluetooth has been successful. However, I am unable to answer or place calls via the bluetooth connection even though the connection has been established. It worked well with my previous iPhone 4S. Can anyone help with this?

It has all stopped working can anyone help
Earlier in the week, I did a softare version upgrade for my iphone, unfortunatly at the time I did the upgrade the E:\ where all my itunes files are kept was not plugged in and so when I tried to sync later itunes could not find any of my files. I thought I had resolved the problem after I eventually managed to sync my iphone, however, when I plugged in the itoch last night, it wipped the whole of my E:\. I have managed to restore the E:\ and after several attempts, re-loading itunes, restoring the itouch, restoring my pc, I am still not managing to plug my itouch in without it erasing everything on my E:\, it doesn't even have to sync, just plug it in and watch everything disapear, please can anyone help?
i have a problem with itunes i have itunes installed on my pc.The problem i am having is that i cannot access itunes store at all,all i have is the bar on top saying accessing itunes store and it just does not go anywhere.If anyone is having the same problem i would love to know has i have searched every website and post trying to find a solution to the problem.

IPod touch 4 has gotten stuck while updating/restoring.
Today I got a message that there was a new iTunes, so I updated it.
Then I got a message that there was a new update for my iPod Touch 4th Gen. So I updated it. ...or tried to. During the "restore" phase the process stops at about 25% (as seen on the progress indicator on the iPod) and won't progress further.
I've tried:
switching users
changing USB ports
restarting computer
forcing restore with power and home buttons
I am at my wit's end...it's my kid's iPod and he's crying (it's ok, he's 7) and I'm frantic and nothing I'm doing is helping.
any ideas?Hang during restore process: Following Troubleshooting security software will frequently resolve this error. This error can be caused by the default packet size being set incorrectly. There may be third-party software installed that modifies the default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize or MaxGlobalTcpWindowSize entry into the Registry. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance in adjusting this TcpWindowSize values. Typically the default packet size is modified by 3G cellular network card software, ISP communication software, or Internet speed download optimization software. There are legitimate reasons to change the TCP/IP packet size and not use the Windows default settings (for example, network traffic optimization, home/broadband optimization, enterprise app optimization such as database apps, Exchange, and more). Deleting the "TcpWindowSize" or "GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize" entries in Windows Registry could affect the system's performance with other apps or on their network connections. Deleting the customized TCP/IP settings may require the reinstallation of any third-party applications that had modified the TCP/IP settings from the Windows default settings.
There are two ways to resolve this:
You can follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) , or follow the steps below to manually find and remove TcpWindowSize and MaxGlobalTcpWindowSize entries from the Registry.
For Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7: Go to the C:\\Windows folder and launch regedit.
Go to Edit > Find.
Search for "TcpWindowSize" entries. There are typically multiple entries of TcpWindowSize/GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize spread throughout the entire Registry. If "TcpWindowSize" exists, one or more third-party applications have changed the user's default Windows settings for TCP/IP.
Go to File and select Export. This step will export a copy of the Registry that can be used as a backup of the original settings.
Delete the "TcpWindowSize" entry.
Search for the next "TcpWindowSize" entry and delete each one until the Registry no longer has any "TcpWindowSize" entries.
Close Regedit, restart the PC, and test.
If you are uncertain as to why these registry entries exist and the PC is a business computer, contact your network administrator and determine what values TCP/IP can be set in their Windows Registry setting so that the PC can update or restore an iOS device rather than deleting the "TcpWindowSize" entry.
If editing the registry does not resolve the issue, restoring on a different computer that did not install the communication software is the step most likely to resolve this issue.

My Ipod Touch 4 has been stuck in Headphones Mode for no apparent reason.
Tried everything:

Q-Tip
Headphones in and out
RESET
RESTART
SOUND OPTIONS
Anything else?- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
