My iPod touch 3G says "No Wi-Fi" in gray text.

Hi! I just bought an iPod touch from a thrift store. It is an iPod touch 3G and is on iOS 5.1.1. I restored it and personalized it. In the setup menu there was no option to set up Wi-Fi, and then when I got to the Settings after I was done setting up, next to Wi-Fi it says "No Wi-Fi". I checked out Bluetooth and next to it it said "Unavailable". I want to know how to fix this because I won't find any use for the iPod touch without Wi-Fi.

One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
Also heating sometimes works. See:
Why can't I select my wifi settings?
A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
