My ipod touch 4 (32gb) shuts down all the time

My ipod touch4 (32gb) shuts down all the time, even though the battery is not dead. Seems ever since update in July 2011 I have been having issues with the battery. Please help!

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
-  Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPhone 4s looks shut down all the time.especially when the 3g is on.in the forums its said to push the use button and the power button at the same time.the people calling me cannot reach at my phone.what should i do ?

my phone looks like offline all the time.its all about me to notice that its offline.then i have to push the main button and the power button together to open it.then the apple sign comes on the screen and the phone turns online.but i cannot receive the information of who called me at the time that my iphone 4s turned offline by itself.i cannot receive messages at all.what can i do now ? i sent the phone to the service and they just told me that they installed the current version.but i guess nothing happened.its doing the same thing again.i cannot use my iphone.
    From Turkiye.

I've tried all those. But nothing works. The phone seems to be shut down. But it is not. When i get it out of my pocket, for example to call someone, i touch to main button but nothing happens.I solve it by pushing the power button and the main button together just for a couple of seconds, as its said so in the forums.
also, people told me that they were calling me, my phone was ringing but i didnt answer?...i checked it for millions of times, it seems to be shut down, but its normally not.then i push the buttons together and the apple sign comes on the screen.it searches for the network.and it works.
but i do not see any calls, texts anything.but for the others, they say my phone seems to be workin.
I thought it was 'cause of the 3G is switched on but when I turn 3G off, it does the same thing.it seems to be offline all the time.

  • IPod Touch 4th keeps reseting all the time!!

Hey everybody! I really hope that you guys can help me..
I was trying to exclude an app and then I decided to reset my ipod touch 4th. Now, it keeps reseting all the time by itself! The ipod don't turn off or even less turn on.. What can I do??

    - Connect the iPod to your computer. If iTunes sees the iPod then restore the iPOd.
    - Next see if recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so your can restore it.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Then try DFU mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - Then, let the battery fully drain and then charge and try again.
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPod touch is fully charged all the time

    Hi!
I have a Sony FM/AM Clock Radio (Model ICF-CS10iP) that plays iPod/iPhone, and when I connect the iPod to the radio in order to play it, the battery is recharged very fast, so that my iPod is always fully recharged. In other words, I don't have time to spend my time listening to it with the earphones, consuming the battery till it runs out, then I would have to recharge again. It simply is full all the time. Is there any problem in not having this cicle of consuming and recharging? Thanks!

Yes. For maximum battery life, Apple recommends fully discharging/charging the iPod at least once a month.

  • G5 shuts down all the time

My G5 2,5Ghz shuts down after one minute after starting the computer
and loading a program, Logic Pro 8 or Final Cut Pro 6, then it starts automatically again and loads up the desktop. All my unsaved work is gone. This happens many times until I manually shut the G5 down and wait or unplug the current for a while. It is impossible to get any work done, and I have a time limit. All the fans are working and I have not detected any coolant leakage. I had this problem even before I installed Logic and Final Cut. Some days the G5 is working without problems for a couple of hours.
    Does anybody recognize this problem?

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
When the shutdown occurs, how does it shut down? Suddenly, just going black, then proceeding through a restart?
It may be an issue with power management, which could be solved by resetting the PMU or SMU, depending on which G5 it is that you have. Yours being a Quad will have a SMU:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1436
If that does not solve the issue, there may be a hint in Console/Logs/System Logs.
Look for entries preceeding the shutdown.
It may be easier to recognize the startup and work backwards. Look for "com.apple.SystemStarter" to indicate where the startup begins, noting any error prior to.
You will see something like the following, as well, near the startup point:
    Oct 31 19:23:59 localhost kernel[0]: Copyright (c) 1982, 1986, 1989, 1991, 1993
Oct 31 19:23:59 localhost kernel[0]: The Regents of the University of California. All rights reserved.
Another place to look for a clue is to look in the System Profiler/Hardware/Diagnostics.
Additionally, installing a fresh PRAM battery (the small battery located on the logic board) is probably a good idea.

  • Ipod Touch drops off network all the time

I am using a 2nd generation Ipod Touch to control Itunes on a Mac Mini. I am using the "Remote" application on my Ipod. I do not use the Ipod for anything else but remote control. There is no music on my Ipod.
I have the "stay connected" switched ON under remote settings in my Ipod. But almost every time I pick the Ipod up to use it it says:
"Can not connect to the local Network"
Then it generally does connect in a few seconds after I push a button. But sometimes I have to reboot the Mac Mini to get it to work. (I am not sure why this helps becasue I am using my Netgear Modem/router for my Network - not the Mac Mini....). My music library is on the Mac Mini.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    - Connect the iPod to your computer. If iTunes sees the iPod then restore the iPOd.

  • Since upgrading to Maverick my macbook pro randomly shuts down all the time, no idea why...

Since I upgraded to Maverick, my Macbook Pro shuts down quite often without warning. No idea why.

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).

  • Hi. i am having trouble with my Ipad. I just shuts down all the time and then it will not be turned back on., hi. i am having trouble with my Ipad. I just shuts down all the time and then it will not be turned back on.

Hi I have just gotten a old Ipad 2 to use, wich has a problem. It just shuts down for no reason. then it s difficult to turn it back on. anyone know about this problem

    Make sure it's charged.
Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

  • My Mini shuts down all the time

Hey hi there, got the 1.42 model which has lately gone berzerk meaning that its operation lasts an average of 3 to 5 minutes the most. It ain't the OS, and it ain't the disk. I have attempted formatting and re-installing 10.4 but can't get through even half way of the installation. It just turns itself off. I have (repeatedly) reset nvram, and pmu but nothing changes. I'm sure it's not a software problem. No matter what CD / DVD i try to boot from, the 3-5 minute nightmare is there. I have ordered a new psu, but am afraid it might not be the problem.. I have even done a "hard reset" pressing the mobo microswitch. (of course with everything unplugged) Surprisingly, the first time after that method it worked for about 30 minutes, whilst i considered it fixed and i turned it off. But next time around, -and ever since- it's back to the same behavior!
    Any clues?? Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
One possibility is a faulty temperature sensor that's signaling a serious problem, shutting the system down. It's happening quite consistently as you've noted it. You might press the logic board microswitch, and with, hopefully, 30 minutes of run time, run either the Apple hardware test, or one of the TechTool programs, to see if it points out a hardware error. Find the first OS X disk that came with the system, which should say in small print on the label 'AHT Version x.x'. Insert the disk and reboot holding the alt/option key down. Choose the Apple hardware test, and when prompted, select the extended test. Does that point out any issues?

  • Monitor "Power Button Lockout" and shuts down all the time!

I have a HP 2009m 20" diagonial HD Ready LCD Monitor
I am using Windows Vista 64-bit
    "Power Button Lockout" message
A few days ago, completely randomly, my monitor started flashing this message "Power Button Lockout".  Now the message is projected on the screen all day every day, when I'm trying to use the computer, the monitor will shut off, the power button is practically useless, and none of the other function (menu, volume, or source) buttons work on the monitor.  Please help!

Try to reset monitor to factory configuration.
Unplug monitor from power and hold the power button for 60 sec.
Then plug the monitor back in and power it up.
Else - it sounds like the button or the switch under the button is damaged. Maybe you can repair/replace it with another mirco-switch?

  • Itunes shuts down all the time

hey there, i purchased an ipod video 30gb and i have windows xp service pack2.my problem is that i get a "itunes has encountered a problem, and needs to close" on just about everything i try to do! it does this when i try to play a song on itunes, try to add videos to library, and as i just discovered when on completion of spending three hours downloading a video from the music store! (i lost the video as soon as it was downloaded as a result of the problem screen). why is this happening?! this is very disheartening for me and makes me think that this is a very large waste of money! ( and i scratched the flippin screen 10 minutes after getting it out the box!)HELP!

I dunno, it could be a corrupt iTunes install, or malware.
Try downloading QT standalone and installing that.
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
    or scan with ewido
    www.ewido.net/en/
All of this is going to be very slow on dialup.
Check back in, 3 days. I feel your pain, I had dialup a bit back.

  • Windows 7 cycles through updates on shut down (all the time)

i have been having a devil of a time with my mac pro and am hoping this forum might have some leads on a problem.
i have a first generation mac pro and an installation of windows 7 using parallels and every time i use windows 7 it cycles through a windows update procedure. this is a minor pain now which takes about five minutes but in the past it was a very long procedure.
i recently had to re-install this setup due to a WD HD with "bad sectors" and i would like to solve this problem.
    can anyone advise?
    TIA
P.S. I had to use "Jowie's" method to install windows 7 on this computer. i am running Lion 10.7.5.
P.P.S. apologies for the apparently off-topic post but i have not gotten any leads on this on the windows forums or from the boot camp forums and i am almost at a total loss at this point in terms of getting this OS on this computer to work.

you like me face the problems post Vista SP1 with 64-bit versions.
Modifying and using Imgburn via Jowie is best I know of to get it to boot and install.
There are always issues with native Boot Camp Windows updates and a VM like Parallels as to whether you can or should apply any update whatsoever in a VM or stick to doing so natively.
Always have a backup image to restore from for ANY OS.
Paragon Software Camp Tune and the great Hard Disk Mgr 12 Suite which will perform an "Clone OS" migration to another disk drive.
For convenience never share a hard drive with Mac and Windows. Esp. for you and I. Dedicated drive only.
WD Lifeguard in Windows is great at mapping out bad sectors.
Use Carbon Copy Cloner to image your Mac and the Recovery partition to another drive also.
You would then never ever have to reinstall any or either.
There are people on the Boot Camp forum where I burned out that you and I well... we've been over this before to the point I stopped and left.
Apple's BootCamp 4.0 64-bit from my attepms (I run Windows 8) will not install and I guess needs CMD.exe and direct it at Apple installer MSI program or Setup. I would not normally and not needed except for data and time and the Boot Camp Startup  Manager in Windows.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Your log shows that the NVIDIA graphic card has failed. Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is to take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller to get the computer repaired.
The graphic card is soldered onto the logic board, so the whole logic board has to be replaced, making this an expensive repair
