My iPod touch 4 keeps deleting my music

I bought my iPod off of Amazon from a reputable seller. It was restored.
I bought in August of 2012 and since then it has deleted my music not once, not twice but FOUR TIMES!
Now since my brother has an iPod we don't sync our music, we both manually manage it so our computer doesn't slow down from all of our music.
Now I consider myself to know more about technology than the average person but I just have no idea how to fix this.
Before I had an iPod nano 6th generation and I loved it. Once it deleted all my music but after 3 hours I was able to recover it...somehow.
My brother has an iPod classic and it also deletes his music and I've had to restore it twice, and three times I was able to recover the music.
I have never been able to recover the music for my touch. I'm about to say the heck with it and resell my touch and get a new one but I'm afraid the same thing will happen.
As of right now I have "manually manage music and videos" box checked and it shows 0.02gb. If I hit "Sync iPod over wifi" it shows 19.9gb which is how much music I'm supposed to hit.
Then if I hit "apply" the bar at the bottom goes down to 0.02gb.
Same thing with "Back up iPod to this computer" I have that box checked and if I hit "Back up to iCloud" the bar fills back up agaiwhen my music deletes my music it says "Updating files on Rad!cal" (rad!cal is my iPod's name) now I know it says this when I'm adding music but whenever it's never deleted my music while I was adding music.
I use iTunes 10, iTunes 11 sucked.
Any tips?

This is not a complicated problem. And you can easilly solve it. Here is the way about how to recover music from iPod.
Connect your iPod to your computer to restore custom ringtones and ringtones saved to the computer. Click the "iPod" button in iTunes, or select your iPod in the sidebar if you enabled the option to show the sidebar. Select the "Tones" tab, check the box for each ringtone you want to transfer to your iPhone, and then click "Sync." Sometimes a 3 party tool such as Data Recovery may help you in a easy way.

If I 'Erase all content and settings' on my iPod touch will it delete my music?

So yesterday my email changed so I changed my Apple ID email. I did it and typed the password in and stuff and it was fine. Then, it went really dodgy when I logged out of my old Apple ID and in to my new one. It kept popping up on my screen 'username or password for 'iCloud is incorrect' so I went to check my iCloud things and it wouldn't let me log into my new account. Also, it wouldn't receive iCloud mail that I have and it also won't back up my iPod. That's when I thought of resetting my iPod. But, because my Apple ID is dodgy I'm nervous about it deleting music. I've heard you can log out, reset then log in again but I don't know whether I'll be able to... I want to delete EVERYTHING apart from music.

As it says, Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings Erases Everything.
Y can do this to move the music to a computer.

However, just what did you do? Could you have created a new account vice change the contact email address?
I no longer have an email address that was also my Apple ID. Can I still use the email address as my Apple ID?
Apple recommends you change your Apple ID to your current, working email address. This will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.

I have the same problem (deleted email account). I think I mistakenly set up an account when I was buying an Apple product online, not realizing that it would be the same ID as my iTunes.

How much free storage space is available on your iPod Touch?
When restoring your iPod Touch with iTunes, did you restore from the backup for the iPod Touch or as a new iPod Touch?
If the former and the problem lies with the data included with the backup, restoring from the backup will also restore the problem putting you right back where you started.

I see it discussed in archived disucssions, but there never seemed to be a resolution I could find.

Has the unit EVER been jailbroke? Has it EVER been dropped? Did it EVER get excessively wet? Did you EVER load a pirated developer's version of the IOS?
If "No" to all the above, first try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

2nd Gen IPod Touch - Software crash using Krusell Music Multi Adapt Case

When using my new 2nd gen iPod Touch with my old Krusell Music Case. When I close the case the software of my iPod crashes and the only way I can restart is to do a hard reset. It was Ok with my 1st gen iPod Touch.
Is it possible that the magnets that are used for keeping the lid closed are effecting the electronics somehow? Do I have a problem with the iPod?
Comments would be gratly appreciated.

I doubt if it is the magnets but it is more likely that case is pushing on the Sleep/Wake button. I don't believe the gen 1 and gen 2 iPods are the same size.
You can test the magnet theory by turning your iPod on and moving the magnets over the device.

I have a Ipod touch and recently added new music to my itunes library on my laptop. When I sync with my ipod, the new music does not show up on my ipod even though the sync process seems to be working.

My ipod touch will not stop playing music. I will pause the music, leave the playlist, and after 30-60 seconds, the music starts playing again. I use my ipod when I run and when I drive (hook it up to the stereo). It is very annoying when I stop to take a phone call or listen to directions, turn off my music, and then hardly a minute into my stop, the music starts right back up again.

My ipod touch 4th generation wont play music. I hit the play button and it turns into a pause button but the music does not play and the song length thing stays at 0:00. It is brand new and has not been damaged. No songs are greyed out. Certain songs play but most dont. Please help.

I have same issue with iPad3. all songs play great, both songs I have downloaded and ones on iPad, except 2 albums by same artist that I bought from iTunes. maybe more, but I have not found any others that seemingly hang exactly as you describe at 0.00 seconds and with pause button displayed.

I also checked console and don't see any relevant messages.
I have restarted.
I have not restored from backup, but I did do a complete restore a few days ago....I had lost my ipad(left in cart at Walmart), so sent remote wipe command....but got it back! iCloud restore was perfect. I takes a while, so hoping to avoid another restore and would rather find the issue.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
