My iPod Touch 4g doesn't sense my "touch" even after restore and update

My iPod screen had cracked pretty badly, and it wasn't sensing my touch at all. Could still turn it off by holding down the home button and power button though. So I replaced the screen. It still will not let me open it. I have restored it to a new iPod condition through iTunes, updated it, and still; nothing. Help!!

How do you know the camera does not work if you do not have the FT or Camera apps?
Could those apps be hidden by Restrictions?  Go to Settings>General>Restrictions and check

  • Ipod is not recognized by my new mac, even after restoring..

I recently transferred my itunes library from my old ibook to my new imac using my ipod. The transfer worked (mostly), but all my ipod's memory was used up, even after I had deleted all the transferred files. I was unable to transfer new music onto the ipod, since there was no memory. I then restored and updated the ipod. My current music library was transferred onto the ipod once I reloaded it on my desktop. But then I couldn't access the music on the ipod. (All the songs appear grey). I can't manually update either.

Hello, I am quite new to iPod and very new to this site. Hope I am not threadjacking, but seem to have a similar problem. I am not offering any advice, just asking for help.
My son loaded about 400 songs from his computer in OR onto the 20 GB iPod and they play fine on the iPod. I added more songs from my CDs to the iTunes library on my computer in NY, transferred them manually by dragging their names to the iPod icon on the screen. I could see the progress bar go on each. When I open the iPod icon I can play those more recent songs through the computer, just as I can play the original songs through the computer, but the newer set of songs do not show up on the physical iPod after it is unplugged. I plug it in with a USB cable and disconnect it correctly (I think)
Actually, one of the songs did transfer to the physical iPod, but none of the others.
I did set the preferences for manual transfer.
Can anyone give me some troubleshooting ideas? Looking at this chat list I realize loading and managing an iPod is a lot less foolproof than I had hoped it would be.
    Thanks, Steve

  • My ipod touch 4th generation keeps deleting my music even after restoring it and I can't sync new songs anymore

Hello, I have an iPod touch 4th generation 8GB that I purchased brand new in January 2013. The device is currently running iOS 6.1.6.
It worked perfectly fine until today, when I tried to sync one single song on it.
While i was syncing it, I noticed that on the iPod screen, the song menu begun scrolling without me touching the display, some song titles became white (as when you're syncing a song) or disappeared leaving blank lines, until the music app crashed.
When I opened it again, it said that there where no songs in my library.
I tried copying my music on the iPod again, but it only copied one song, after that when I tried syncing more songs, iTunes kept saying "preparing synchronization" (or something similar) but nothing happened.
I tried restoring the device, and initializing it as a new iPod (without using any backups) and then I started copying my songs on it again.
But after the 15th song, the problem occurred again.
    What can I do?
Is it possible that it's the case of an hardware failure? My photo library wasn't affected, and except for the music problem, my iPod is running fine, it's not even an old device and no accidents even happened to him (like falling on the ground or something like that).
    Any tips?
Thank you in advance for your help!

I'm having the same problem with my 4th gen iPod touch. After the update my iPod synched and wiped all my music off - apps & podcasts weren't affected. Restored it a couple of times and that didn't work.
I tried copying a couple of albums over and it would do a couple of songs then the rest of the album would look like it had copied instantly. I tried playing the songs and it would play the first couple of songs once, then it came up with ! Beside every song (including the ones I'd just played and said they weren't on my iPod.
I've removed iTunes from my laptop and downloaded the few iTunes bought albums over WiFi to my iPod. The rest of my music is from cds or mixes/podcasts downloaded from soundcloud so I've had to use a different program to copy some of this music to my iPod for the time being until I can see how to sort this out.

  • IPod Nano 5th Generation Stuck in Recovery Mode even after Restore.

    Hello,
I have an iPod Nano 5th generation (model number A1320) that I would like to completly restore to working condition.
Currently it is stuck in "recovery mode".
I have followed the steps given by Apple here on a Microsoft Windows system with the latest Apple iTunes software but after step 9 I am back to "recovery" mode where I am given the option of performing the restore process all over again.
How can I restore this iPod Nano?
    Thank you.

  • Ipod nano 4th gen stuck on apple logo even after restore

okay, i have an ipod nano 4th gen. it gets stuck on the boot logo, (apple logo) every time it tries to restart. i have rebooted, gone into the diagnostics, put it into disk mode, and even restored from there. the computer doesnt recognize the ipod unless in disk mode and no matter how many times i restore or reboot, it does the same thing every time. stuck. please help

Since you have the "exact" same problem, why don't you do any of the following:
If you have AppleCare and/or still under warranty, give them a call.  If not, take your iPod to your local Apple Store or AASP.  Let them properly diagnose the problem and provide you w/a repair estimate.
U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273)
Every iPod comes with complimentary, single-incident telephone technical support within 90 days of your iPod purchase.   If you also purchased AppleCare, then your warranty is extended for technical support and hardware coverage for two years from the original purchase date of your iPod.

  • Hello. Today, I was updating my iPod Touch 4th Generation to iOS 6. I unplugged the iPod when it was during the installation because it appeared to be frozen. Now the iPod is stuck at a light blue screen even after I reset it. How do I fix it?

Hello. Today, I was updating my iPod Touch 4th Generation to iOS 6. I unplugged the iPod when it was during the installation because it appeared to be frozen. Now the iPod is stuck at a light blue screen even after I reset it. How do I fix it?

You will need to do a DFU restore by holding the home and power buttons down (while the device is plugged in to your computer) until the device's screen goes black and as soon as the screen goes black, count down from 3 and release the power/sleep button, but keep holding down the home button. Then, iTunes will say the iPod needs to be restored. The restore process will take some time and even though the iPod may appear to be frozen, don't interrupt the restore.

  • My ipod touch still freezing even after restoring it

plz i need help....my ipod touch still freezing even after restoring it...plz send me email to [email protected]

If you did not restore to factory defaults/new iPod do that. If yuo are still having problem then an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. You likely have a hardware problem.

Yes, first try deleing both songs.
    If still problem
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • I restored and updated my iPod, but when I turned it on, it still says connect to iTunes

My brother just got an ipod for Christmas, and we told him not to put a passcode on it because he would forget... but he did it anyways and he did forget! He ended up disabling it trying to unlock it. It said ''Connect to iTunes." When I connected to iTunes, it said it was disabled and needed the passcode to do whatever,  but I held the top button and the home button down for ten seconds to Restart it because we don't know the passcode! It said to Restore and Update, so I did that. Now it's in Recovery mode... and I can't get past that part! I thought I had done it right, but when it turns back on, it still says connect to iTunes! Help??

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
