My Ipod Touch 4g doesn't want to restore, and is stuck in DFU mode with black screen! When in the restoring process i get Error 1618, can someone help?
My ipod touch got disabled and it said to connect it to itunes. It didnt want to recognize it so i try to restore it. Everything when good i downloaded the newest ipod software, it reach the loading bar in the ipod but didnt load anything. Then it turn off and the Error 1618 appear on Itunes can someone help me fix it???
Try a hard reset and see if you can get the Apple logo to light up.

I use an ipod touch. I charged it using my pc but on disconnecting it went to black screen with circle going round. I cannot switch off, reboot or anything. Help please
connect the ipod back to the computer used to sync the ipod
hold both power and home for 30sec's when u c the apple logo let goof both buttons and let the ipod reboot
it this does not work un plug the ipod allow the battery to run out plug in to charge for 1hr and try the reset again
if this does not work try a restore to a back up or a restore to factory settings via itunes -

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

So I jailbroke my ipod with absinthe a few days ago and everything has been working fine but today i used an app i downloaded from cydia (cant remember the name) and it started to respring and went on for a long time so restared my ipod and everything but it still came back to the same screen of a swirling motion with black screen after passing the apple logo. I tried restoring the ipod on itunes but an error keeps occuring and it wont allow me to restore. Itunes wont read my ipod either. My ipod will not allow me to do anything. What should I do?
Go elsewhere. Jailbreaking voids the Apple warranty. It also means that you will not get any help from Apple, including from this Apple forum.

There's always that possibility but I suspect that any Lion purchases today will be just a drop in the bucket. Still, there really ought to be some provision for those whose Macs can't go beyond Lion to upgrade since continued Snow Leopard support is now in question (the reason I finally moved to Lion).
There are a lot of people complaining that their free upgrade redeem codes for ML aren't working so I bet keeping Lion available is way down on Apple's to-do list. -

Can anyone assist me, because I am about to hurt my lil sister. I purchase a new Ipod touch yesterday and I have not synced it to itunes yet. She attempted to set up a passcode and disabled it. I have a router downstairs in my house. When i go downstairs, i have internet. But when i go back upstairs, i lose my internet and my ipod cant connect to the internet untill i go back downstairs. Can someone help me with this dalema?
Have the same problem with one room in my house. The good news; my internet provider told me about a device which boosts the signal through the the houses wiring. You plug the sender into an electrical outlet and your USB output, the receiver / transmitter you plug into an outlet in the room with the poor signal and use Wi-Fi as always. It priced in around $30 to $40. The bad news; I just don't remember what it was called, but I'm sure if contact your provider or local electronics store, discribe what your looking for they can hook you up with the needed hardware. What is not certified? Are you using an Apple charger and cable? Most often use of a non-Apple cable or faulty cable will get the message that the device is not supported, not that it is not certified.
Can you get a different cable to use to see if that takes care of the problem? If not, take it to an Apple store genius bar where they can use one of their cables to see if that is the issue. -
I tried to update to newest version via pc. I got error because i didn't have this recovery program disc that was supposed to come with the purchase so it says, but it didn't and now my ipod touch 8gb won't connect with itunes anymore and is stuck on a screen displaying an itunes icon with a usb icon.
oke i'm not done with the whole thing, but i'm doing that right now. Most of the advice I've already read didn't work and at a certain point it said something about shutting down programs then restart. but i notice that there are some pretty important system things in that list and i don't want to mess up my pc :s i'm not a pc genius... and because i'm dutch and my pc-language is in dutch I often have trouble translating and well... i don't always understand the technical stuff in all the articles -_-

I upgraded my iPod Touch 4th gen to IOS 6.1 and now it won't sync with iTunes?
After upgrading to IOS 6.1, my iPod Touch won't sync. This is really frustrating as I want to add new music etc.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

IPod Touch will not update to 2.1 and is now in recovery mode
So I downloaded the 2.1 update and tried to install, it failed and now my iPod Touch is in recovery mode. When I go to restore now it tries and fails and tells me that it could not be restored and says "An unknown error occurred(6)" I would really appreciate any help as my iPod is useless right now. This iPod has never been jailbroken either.
Dang! I got the same message too, and this is my second iPod Touch (which is a replacement because my first couldn't install 2.0 at all). I got "Unknown Error (6)" twice, then tried a third time and that finally worked.
What is it with these devices that they're so unreliable? As it is, I'm crossing my finger that the 2.0.1 update addresses the battery problem I'm having now with this second iPT. (Won't know yet until later.)
