My ipod touch 4g randomly goes to a white screen!

I just bought this ipod and I was going into an app and then it goes to this white screen?? I tried restoring it but the power and home button doesnt work! What should i do?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

My ipod touch 4th gen. is stuck on white screen of death.

I recentally had dropped my ipod touch and when i picked it up it was stuck on the white screen of death. I tried to hard restart by holding down the power and home button at the same time, but the screen would only turn off then come right back on. Then i let the power drain. After it would no longer turn on i put it on the charger to find that the white screen would pop right back up. I didnt want to restore it but because its my only option i put it on my compute but itunes couldnt acess it because i had a passcode on it. is there a differnt way to restore it or fix it? HELLLPPP MEEEE!

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Ok while my ipod4 was udating to ios 6 it sputtered on me and turned off now every time my ipod turns on it goes to a white screen oh and it also shows the charge symbol and the dead battery logo plz help me ps my ipod4 is not jailbroken hope that helps

i woke up this morning and my ipod touch was off and wouldnt turn on. so i pluged it in to my computer and a white screen came up and now it is stuck there. itunes says it needs to restore the ipod. so i try try to restore it and is says it cant and at the end of the message it has (21). can some one help me out.

i have recently downloaded IOS 5.0 and my ipod has been doing wat everyone else`s has lagging.
