My iPod Touch 4G's front camera will not work at all.

The back camera is perfectly fine but once as I switch to the front camera it either goes all black or the shutter wont open. Help

Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

I have done absalutely nothing to my 4g apple ipod touch, and it over heats, won't hold a charge, and the front camera will not work. I bought this brand new in december, and i've barely used it. I've tried restarting it and everything, I honestly think this is out raging because i spend over $200 on this. To have for music and instagram. I use it about an hour a day, but i've only been using it for about 3 months although i've had it since December. Any suggestions that may help me?

    Try:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My iPod Touch 4G Lock/Sleep Button Will Not Work

I recently had an incident with my iPod Touch 4G where the screen was shattered to the point of no use. I sent my iPod Touch off to a Non Apple repair place (good example of why you should NEVER do this) due to me not having enough money to get apple to fix it and there not being a warranty on my device. When I got it back everything is working except for the lock/Sleep button.  I asked about it and the person I had repair it said that he could not find what was wrong with it.  Is there any way that I can fix this without paying a large price or am I never going to be able to get this fixed?  I cant turn it on without plugging it in, lock it, or unlock it and it is really annoying and I am thinking about just getting rid of it if I can't get it fixed.
"Note: I have tried a full restore 2 times and it did not fix the issue. I also had the person check all the ribbon cables and they are all fine and correctly attached."

  • Front camera will not work

after the latest OS updates, the ability to switch tpo the fron camera is no longer functioning. When I swipe to switch cameras, the screen locks.

    Hello efgaug,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with the front camera on your iPad 2.
I recommend following these steps for an issue like this (you can skip 4 because it does not relate to the issue you are experiencing and any other steps you may have taken):
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
You can find the full article here:

If you get to step 5, I recommend backing up your iPad before performing the restore:

  • Ipod touch connected to wifi but will not work

Hey guys, my wifi connect has gone a bit strange, i can connect to my router but none of the internet based apps will work, cannt connect to Safari or Apps store. Iv tried everything iv even restored to factory settings and lost all my data in the process. My router works fine with fellow ipods and laptops, it just isnt connecting to mine! Any Help Please im pulling my hair out!

Despite the WiFi connection sign you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address when the iPod requested it. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix for this can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Droid 3 Reboots, Looses Apps, and Front Camera will not work

    Here is the situation:
YES. My DROID3 randomly reboots itself. Annoying but manageable since mine only does it every couple of days or so.
NO. I cannot seem to find any help or way to resolve this.
YES. Apps dissappear occasionally. I turn the phone off, wait a couple of minutes, turn it back on and they are usually back.
YES. My front facing camera stopped working. If I try to use it, my phone crashes then I cannot initialize the rear facing camera either until I restart it then go into the app settings for the camera and clear the data and the rear works again but now I have to set the SD card as the location for pics again everytime.
NO. I did not downoad any untrusted apps.
I hope the response I get does not say "working diligently"  or "they are aware of the issue"

    Hello saxegotha2003,
I hate that you had to go through these problems with your Motorola DROID 3.  I would like to offer assistance.
I would like to know what is the software versionnumber of your DROID 3?  If not up to date, please check for updates.  Also, have you tested the device in "Safe Mode"?  This can help determine if the problem is hardware or software related.  Please let me know the results of your testing so I can further assist.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
