My iPod touch 4G was stolen and restored. What do I do?

I got an iPod touch 4G in December. There was over 270$ put into the iPod. It got stolen March 7th and got restored sometime March 10th. I have the serial number linked to my iTunes account. Is there any way I could find my iPod?

Once it's wipe, there's nothing you can do to track.

    Sorry about your ipod.
    Get on with your life.
Make sure you have changed your passwords.
There is nothing else to do.

IF you set up the find my ipod feature on the ipod itself and it is on and it is connected to wi-fi then you may be able to get an approximate street address usig icloud.com
    Otherwise, it cannot be tracked.
Report the theft to police and change your passwords.

  • I was gave an Apple iPod Touch that was disabled and I called the Apple Store and they emailed me what to do and I plugged my iPod up to the PC and now it's saying that the iPod is unable to be recognized and I don't know what to do now

I was gave an Apple iPod Touch that was disabled and I called the Apple store and they emailed me how to fix it but now when i plug it up to the PC it's saying that the iPod is unable to be recognized and I don't know what to do?

    Not sure if this helps:-
The music files, were they bought from your iTunes account or did someone gift them to you after buying from the iTunes account? If they are yours you can download them again if you clear or de-authorise the ipod, it has to be done by whoever gave you the ipod to do this (the registered  owner). If they were bought for you on another itunes account I don't think Apple let you use them as they are copyrighted and they don't belong to you, they belong to the person who bought them. If the music files where ripped from music cd's then click and drag them to a new folder on your desktop and have the person who gave you the ipod to de-authorise and unregister it. Then you re register it and put your files back from your desktop folder in your iTunes folder and synch. Hopefully that would work.  Any files which you did not buy, I would not know how get around this, best bet is to take it to you nearest Apple  Store and explain that they were gifted to you and ask how you can use them.  The best way to gift music files is to buy the gift tokens and give these. Hope above helps.

  • How do i set up icloud without my ipod? it was stolen, and i was wondering if i could register it with icloud using my serial number

I have the serial and everything and i was wondering if i could somehow register it with icloud so i could track it, because it was stolen

IF you set up find my ipod on the ipod itsled BEFORE it was stolen AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi AND it has not been restored, then you may be able to find an approximate street address using find my ipod in icloud.
Otherwise there is no way to track it.
Change your passwords and report it to the police.

  • I restored my iPod touch, but was unable to restore my data from a backup, so I synced it and now all of the data from my apps has gone, and so have in app purchases. Is there anything I can do to get them back?

Does anyone know if there's anything I can do to get my app data back? All levels completed on games have been erased, and I am unable to use in app purchases which I did purchase, such as the Mighty Eagle in Angry Birds. Thanks for your help

Go to the Device tab in iTunes' Preferences and se what the date iis of the backup(s).  Apple only retaines the latest backup unless you restor from a backup and that one is also kept.

  • How do i delete an Apple id after my old ipod touch 1G was stolen

Having problem after my ipod touch got pinched from my mates car. He left it open by the beach duh!
So now someone else knows my ID - it is floating about somewhere in the settings and acount info on my old device right?
Can I swop that old Apple ID which was a @Yahoo account and get Apple to just allow me to sign in under my icloud.com address only?
Feeling quite gutted about losing the ipod but more so about the ID security issue.
Can anyone help with what maybe a dunce's question?
Its just I tried tinkering with the Account settings like this:
Make your Apple ID and primary email address one and the same.
Your Apple ID will be easier to remember, and your account will be easier to access and manage.
Change your Apple ID and primary email address to:
But it never takes effect. So how can I stop Apple allowing anyone access to my account by using this email to log in?
I'll take my chances with remembering a new email address - so long as its not on the ipod that got lost I dont mind.
PS: there was no email account setting on the ipod touch as I just used it for music/video storage only

If I read you correctly, your main reason for wanting to take action is so that whoever stole your iPhone will not know your Apple ID.
To my knowledge, there's no way to log out of your Apple ID on your iPhone, seeing as it's stolen. You may as well erase your iPhone, since it's lost anyways. To do that, go to icloud.com and then Find My iPhone. You can find your iPhone and erase it from there.

  • My ipod touch 4g was stolen, my ipod touch 4g was stolen

i was wondering if there was anny way i could get my stolen ipod back or track... i lost it while in school but belive it was stolen i still have the box and recite

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled or the iPod been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).
    Regards.

  • Ipod touch sync: other? and restoring questions

for the past few months everytime i sync my ipod touch it shows the catagorey "other" next to the auido, photos, videos, apps, and free space. at the moment it reads "other 208 MB", which is taking up a lot of my space considering i have an 8GB and i typically use all of my space on it. so i just wondered what "other" is and how i can get rid of it.
i know that a few people have said that restoring the ipod will fix the problem. i would restore it except for the fact that i don't know if it will delete all of my notes, calendar dates, apps, map settings, safari bookmarks, my saved photos (especially because they don't sync to my computer, they're only on my ipod, and i have 203 saved photos), and other things like that.
    thanks.

Reinstalled iTunes and tried a different USB port. I don't know which of those did the trick though.

  • My iPod Touch (4th gen) will not restore what do I do?

Yesterday my iPod touch suddenly got a black screen and wouldnt turn on/off. I couldn't tell what it was doing. I plugged into my HP laptop and it showed that it was on and in recovery mode. I clicked on the restore and update option, and it updated the software, but now it is stuck with the apple logo and the loading bar on my ipod screen. The bar isn't showing that it is loading. I've left for 2 hrs and it never did anything. HELP!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT201065 How can I find my i pod touch that was stolen

How can I find my ipod touch that was stolen

If you enabled Location Services and "find my iPod" in Settings > General, and the iPod Touch is turned on and in range of a wireless network with a known location, and the thief did not restore it, then its location can be seen in iCloud. How you get it back is for you to determine. Solicit the help of able bodied and sufficiently large friends.
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
If you have lost or found an Apple product, please contact your local law enforcement agency to report it. Although Apple does not have a process to track or flag lost or stolen product, you can use My Support Profile to find a list of serial numbers for items purchased or registered with your Apple ID.

my ipod touch was stolen and i need the serial number but i dont have the paper work or the box, so how do i get the serial number?

If you registered it, Apple can help you.  Give them a call.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  Something as small as an iPod should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

Nothing... why would they do anything?
Apple does not provide insurance and they are not law enforcement.
