My ipod touch 4g wont show 5.1 update, even on iTunes.
When I try to update, It shows that there is no update avaliabe. It tells me I'm on 5.0.1, and there is nothing to update to. but the update was released today.
Sorry, no. But it may be wise to wait until the rush to download is over.... Much less frustration that way.

hi there so ive been having problems with my ipod touch when i click the app i want to use or a game they show for a second then disappear but it shows when i double click the home button that it is running, ive alrady restored it several times and its getting annoying please help !!
Have you tried restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod? If you still have the Apple store is in order.

Ipod touch no longer showing up as a device in itunes
My ipod touch (4th gen) is no longer visible as a device in iTunes. This is a new development (it was fine the last time I connected my iPod to my PC about three weeks ago). When I plug it into the PC (directly into a PC USB port) the PC beeps (confirming connection) and the device shows up in Windows explorer. But the device is no longer recognized in iTunes (I have version 11.3.0.54). Any help/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- Then do the other actions of:

- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

I am having trouble with the ipod as it is displaying the incorrect date, will not access my email etc. However when I go to sync it (thinking this would help) it does not even show upin itunes. For the other problem go to Settings>General>International and make sure the calendar is set to Gregorian. The reset time and date. That may resolve the mail problem -

Around 2 days ago it showed up and i plugged it into my brother's computer and it also showed up. i tried trouble shooting it and still nothing. somethign similar has also happened when my ipod wouldn't turn on after i thought i charged it. my dad was able to fix it and it turned out it simply wasn't chared properly on my laptop. so what's the matter and what should i do?

After updating iTunes to 10.2.1 my 4G Touch will not show up in Windows XP to charge or to sync. I have been reading this forum and following the multiple Apple help and troubleshooting steps with no luck. I can get Windows to recognize and charge the Touch as a camera but it will not update the driver for Apple Mobile Device. I have come to the conclusion it is an Apple software problem. Does anyone know where I can get the previous Apple Mobile Device driver for Windows XP? I would like to give that a try. It's really disappointing....
Upon uninstalling and re-installing all of the Apple software nothing has changed. I can see Apple Mobile Device Support in add/remove programs but when clicking on "repair" it cannot finish and says it encountered a fatal error and no changes have been made.
The error I get trying to install the driver in Device Manager says "I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request".
Does anyone have any suggestions? -
