My ipod touch 4th gen was working fine thorugh my home speakers but now it has stopped
My ipod touch is a 4th gen 8GB and it was working absolutely fine 2 days ago when i played it through the same docking system but i came to play it through my docking system today and it is only playing out of its internal speakers and not through the speaker system.
It is nothing wrong with my speakers because my sister has an ipod and hers plays through it fine.
Help would be much appreciated

Hello BeeeGeee,
Try resetting your iPod Touch. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Then connect it to your dock again see if that helps.

However, from your discription, I suspect that something is broken. Maybe a dead battery. In that case. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and see what they say. -
Recently my iPod touch 4th gen. was stolen. I have had it for two years, so I don't have a warranty on it anymore. I reported it to the police, but what will apple do? This one kid reported to them that his was stolen and they gave him a new one. Will they do the same for me? Is there any other way I can get all my pictures from my iPod without iCloud set up? Hello everyone I brought a second hand ipod touch 4th gen and it all worked fab except it wouldn't let me put any new apps on it so my friend suggested I restore it which I did but while it was restoring the battery died. Now it doesn't seem to be charging and I have left it for ages through the laptop and tried it through a geniune apple plug in charger but its not working. When you plug in the cable to the laptop or plug the little grey apple comes up on the screen but only stays on for about 5 maybe 6 seconds. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried all the trouble shooting suggestions on apple but none of its worked, Shall we just bin it and learn from our mistakes.

My ipod touch 4th generation has recently been telling me I need to connect to iTunes (i think). It has a symbol with a chord, and an arrow above it pointing to the iTunes logo. So I re-downloaded itunes, and I plugged it in to my computer. It told me that iTunes couldn't connect to my iPod because it is password-locked, so I have to put in my password. But I can't do it because of the stupid picture on the screen! I tried turning the iPod on and off, I've looked up and down the internet, etc. etc. The thing I thought might actually help was to put it in recovery mode, but I've tried that too, although the instructions weren't very clear on the apple website and I doubt the way it told me could have worked anyways. I NEED HELP QUICK!!!!!
If anyone could find a video on youtube telling us how to put it in recovery mode, that would be awesome too, but solving this quandary would be better.Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
Ok so I just had bought a new iPod touch 4th generation from an apple store just at the end of last year and until now, it has been working awesome! But just today, I have it plugged up into a wall outlet and it says it was charging for a while but I kept an eye on it and every time I looked at the screen, I could tell the life of the battery had not gone up at all. I have tried resetting it by pressing the home and lock buttons but when I turn it back on and plug it in, the green part of the battery still has not gone up while it has been plugged up for at least an hour ! Do it need to take it to the apple store and ask them why it is doing this or can I do something about it that will actually make it charge? It is worrying me and I would like for the problem to be fixed as soon as possible.

I've been using a charger I bought off of eBay for cheap because the one I received with my iPod had stopped working, so instead of paying for a new Apple cord, I went with the cheaper option. It has been working fine up until today. I updated my iPod today to iOS 7.1 and now it won't recognize the cord at all. I'm wondering if anyone had any answers to why this is happening? Or if you have any suggestions as to how I could charge my iPod until I purchase a new cord. Is it smarter to go with an Apple cord, or can I stick with other manufactorers?
The iOS update made the iPod less tolerent of marginal/fake Lightning cables. All you can do is get a certified Lightning cable. I would get a genuine Apple cable.

My ipod touch was stolen on the a public bus on tuseday !! there was 3 people across from me and were looking at me while i had it i have them as name of suspects and on the bus there was cctv footage so i went to the police to look at it and they yet havent got back yet and so i went on to find my iphone and i used this before and it found my ipod when i last used it in december or early jan but when i tryed to use it this time it said offline .. so i contacted apple they said keep trying it soo i have but nothing changing and im getting more upset with out it everyday and i just got it x mas time.. if there is anyway else you can track it please please tell me !!!! i would much appriciate it xx

I just recieved my new iPod Touch yesterday, inputed my SSID (Network Name), security type WPA2 and password key and It won't connect. Can anyone tell me if I have to do anything else like fill in all the other fields like IP address, mac address, subnet mask, default gateway or anything else like that or should it have connected with the info i provide as I feel this is the sufficient enough information for it to connect but as far as those other fields that I've mentioned does it auto-fill in those other fields when after it connects? Cannot get on.

I took the Touch's physical address or (Mac address as they often refer to it and put the mac address of the Touch in my router's mac address filter list and "Bang" the internet came right on. Problem solved.
