My ipod touch 4th generation showed white screen

My ipod touch 4 has thrown on ground involuntarily. And then it showed all white on screen, i tried to hold ON/OFF SLEEP/WAKE to restart it until Apple logo appears. But it still shows white screen. I really don't know how to do, please help me to fix it. Thanks!!!!!!

If it did not work, you'll have to get it serviced. Dropping an ipod is not covered by your warranty.

The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. If you can't get it to shut down or restart when holding down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons and you can't get it recognized in iTunes to restore it, the iPod may have suffered a hardware failure and will need to go to Apple for service. Someone else here may have additional suggestions, though.
There is no "fifth generation" iPod touch, by the way, just for the sake of clarity; not yet, anyway.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

My iPod touch currently has iOS 5.1.1. When I was about to use my iPod touch for music yesterday (05/30/12), I saw my iPod touch's screen was pure blank. The only sound my iPod touch makes is the voice control and there were no open apps. Also, there was only music on my iPod touch before the screen was blank at the time and there aren't any broken parts. It is not Jailbroken and I had my iPod touch since last August. My iPod touch still has a white screen. I drained out my ipod touch's battery and it did not turn back on back to normal, the screen was still white. When I restarted my iPod touch, the screen was still white. I charged my iPod touch and the screen was still white. When I tried my iPod touch in DFU mode, the apple logo/connect to itunes logo never showed up and the screen is still white. I restored my iPod touch, that didn't work and the screen was still white. Is there a techincal glitch? Should I wait for the next update? Did anyone has/had the same problem? Can Somebody help me with this problem? Should I go to the Apple Store? Should I replace it? Someone please help me. I will be greatly appreciated for your help.

I'm sorry to see you are so frustrated. Try holding down the sleep/wake button and home button together, until the device restarts.
If this still doesn't work, and you have restored your device, it seems like it could be a hardware problem. Book a Genius appointment and a local Apple Store, and they will talk you through repair and replacement options. If you are still in warentee, they will replace it for free. 6 months after purchase I updated my iPod touch as recommend by iTunes.
It has not worked since that day. It frozen (disabled) with a "connect to
iTunes" icon displayed...that is the only thing it does. itunes does not
recognize the iPod. My Windows7 computer recognizes an Apple device.
Other computers recognize the devise but if iTunes resided on that
computer it did not recognize the iPod
I suffered a setback with deep depression and am just now getting out of it enough to do something. The depression prohibited me from taking action.
I have done every procedure recommended from Apple help and external
sources. I did this thoroughly with help for other owners and IT experts,
Apple employees etc etc. I and associates have perform reboots utilizing a
number procedure using only button on the iPod. These were unsuccessful

You need an internet connection and likely a computer with iTunes but an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with the FindMy iPhone App may work by:

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

iOS6 problems aplenty ....not sure if the link I inserted is working or not, but the issue is a lot more prevalent - the issue being that what shows up & plays in iTunes after the iOS6 update is not what shows up (& plays) on the device itself. This may go beyond just the iPod Touch as well.
In my case I can see & play both audio & video files in my Playlist through iTunes, but can only see the Playlists on the iPod Touch with ALL of them being empty. Syncing numerous times no help. Contacting Apple Tech. Support no help - they suggested downloading my Purchases from the iTunes Store - waste of time, did not make a difference. It is clear Apple needs to release a fix to OS6.
Another problem I noticed on the device is that the Shuffle option is hidden on the built-in Songs Playlist, having to swipe the screen down to see it - dumb dumb dumb.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Unfortunantly, the screen cracked very badly, and it has become a hazard, not only for the many cuts I have gotton on my fingers from the ipod screen's broken glass, but for what I type (because the screen is cracked so badly, I cannot see what I am doing). You will need to do a DFU restore by holding the home and power buttons down (while the device is plugged in to your computer) until the device's screen goes black and as soon as the screen goes black, count down from 3 and release the power/sleep button, but keep holding down the home button. Then, iTunes will say the iPod needs to be restored. The restore process will take some time and even though the iPod may appear to be frozen, don't interrupt the restore.
