But when i plugged it into the wall charger it didn't work. I tried a different cable and tried my computer as well. Although, when i turned it off and then plugged it in while in its off state, it turned on, but didn't show that it was charging by showing the little lightening bolt. • IPod Touch 4th gen will not charge, or sync to iTunes

Hello, I have a 2 year old iPod 4th gen 32 gb.  About a week ago a realized that when a charged it the charging screen did not appear.  I made no big deal about it since it still charged, but then I tried to connect it to my cpu to see if anything changed, nothing did (it also cannot connect to iTunes to my cpu but can connect to the app just fine).  So I went on with it but recently it stopped charging all together.  I'd power it down at night and turn it on in the morning and didn't charge at all past 20% So I powered it down and this image came up.Yes, I have seen this image before but when I plugged it in and got the  charging screen after it died.  But now it cannot get past this screen I left it plugged in all day and it doesn't do anything else.  I can reset it after 10 minutes to wake it up but it dies again almost right away now normally i would just toss this away, since how old it is but I'm getting an iPhone soon and I want to be able to transfer everything over, to the iPhone but it keeps dying before i can do anything.  And I would like to fix it so I could sell it for some cash.

  • My ipod touch 5th gen will not charge when connected to pc. works when plugged into wall

I just got my 5th gen ipod today, and when i plug it into my pc (and my roommate's) they make the sound as if something is connected, but my ipod does not charge. When I plug it into my wall charger, it works fine. I've tried multiple cables, and multiple PCs, but it makes no difference. The weirdest thing though, is when I restart my computer, when it is about to close windows, it starts charging for a few seconds, then turns back off. This is so confusing. Any ideas?

Sounds like the computer's USB ports do not provide enough current to charge the iPod when the screen is on. I would connect a partially discharged iPod to the computer for a couple of hours and see it it is charged.

  • My iPod touch 5th gen is not charging. I have tried different cords and plugs too. When I press the power button it just has the charging symbol with a red line in it but it isn't charging at all. Won't connect to iTunes either.

I tried recover mode twice and it did nothing. The 15 day warranty is already up and I'm just wondering if I need to replace the battery at all? Also, before it stopped charging, it would turn off for no reason and the only way to turn it back on was to plug it into a charger and then it would turn right back on and have the same amount of battery that it had when it turned off... Is it the battery I need to replace??

  • IPod Touch 5th Gen will not Charge or Power On.

I got my iPod at Christmas and it's worked fine ever since. I don't much use it, but recently I let the battery die. When I go to charge my iPod, the Low Battery Symbol will show up, then vanish. If I hit the "Sleep" button, it will pop up again. My ipod does not indicate that it's charging, nor does my computer recognize the device. I assumed it was just a bad cable, but since then I've tried 2 other lightning Cables and neither has worked.
I use my iPod mostly to capture video, and I would like to keep my videos, but without a charge, I can't even transfer my files to my computer.

  • IPod Touch 5th Gen. Not Charging!

    Hello darlings,
ill just cut to the chase with what i need help with! My ipod touch 5th generation, which ive had for nearly 4 months now no longer charges! When i plug it into a wall socket it doesnt charge, when i plug it into my laptop it doesnt charge, it just doesnt charge. Well, heres the creepy thing it sort of charges even though it doesnt show its charging. Im thinking its because the cord is still getting the electricity and is transferring it to the ipod but the lightning outlet(bottom of ipod) is just having connection problems. I used to be able to blow in the lightning connector a little bit and it would charge, then i had to start sucking out a bit and blow then it would charge, kind of like i was getting dust/lint out of it, but now nothing works. I cant connect iit to my laptop, which i have to do because i am sending my ipod to apple and wantmy photos off before it is wiped clean. So in other words it is charging(REALLY slowly) but is having connectivity problems. PLEASE HELP!

  • My iPod touch 5th gen does not respond properly when charging?

Having real issues with my iPod touch 5th gen touchscreen not responding when it's on charge. Parts of the screen go dead or need several taps etc. Tried removing case etc. made sure I'm using included charger and directly to the mains not on an extension. Is it faulty?

Some other users have reported same problem. I have not heard of a resolution. You can try:
    - Using another cable
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
