My iPod Touch 5 is useless iPhone 5 isn't responding and I need it for work..
I'll tell ya the these people are screwing around long enough, I was patient the first couple days now its interfering with my job. I need my phone in order to perform at work and the new updates they sent out were claimed to be the solution and all is well. Well that turned out to be a lie i am still having connectivity issues, screen goes blank unexpectedly, restarts by itself, then every time I turn around the battery needs charging. I've been patient with Apple the past week but now it's becoming a real nuisance which is starting to interfere with work. My 5th gen ipod touch was great two weeks ago, then I see this update for 8.0, installed it. Now its sitting on the shelf collecting dust. Is it Apple trying to cut corners or is it a intellectual problem you decide. Thankfully my son isn't using any thing from Apple so hes letting me use his phone for now.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

- A case makes it harder for the iPOd to disipate the heat that occurs during operation of the iPod. During heavy use like gaming, the iPod can get quite warm.
- I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since hot warm is hot is subjective. Make sure you bring the case. -
I recently purchased my daughter an iPod touch, downloaded find my iPhone on the fourth day and she lost it on day 5 before I could turn on the app. I did not know if there is a way to activate the app remotely or another solution. Any suggestions?

dizzysaxySort of if you can get hold of the iPod before it is erased, turn wifi off, then backup the iPod, turn wifi on and let it erase. Then restore from backup.

Can I transfer progress from the apps on my iPod touch 4g to my iPhone 4s?
I just bought an iPhone 4s and I have had an iPod Touch 4g for a couple of months. I have downloaded many apps to my iPod and I have many gaming apps and I want to know how I can transfer the progress from the games from my iPod touch to my new iPhone. I don't want to start over on all of my games. I know that there was an option when setting up my iPhone 4s that said start as new or restore from backup, but i selected start as new. Is there any way that I can still do it?

Using Itunes, I copied all my apps from my Ipod touch to a new Iphone 4. Problem is all the apps on the Iphone are starting up like a new install. I would think my "password" app and "lose it" app would have the past data transferred to the Iphone. Is this not possible??

No. If it states designed for both iPad and iPhone, then it won't run on an iPod touch.

How do I get content from my old iPod Touch to my new iPhone 5? My iPod Touch is too old to use iCloud. I have activated the phone but am stick at the point of the set-up where my 3 choices are:

2. Restore from icloud Backup
3. Restore from iTunes Backup

I accidentally backed up my ipod touch data onto my iphone.
i got a new iphone and wanted to sync it to my computer and accidentally backed up my ipod touch data onto my iphone and now i have all my ipod data and settings on my iphone. how do i undo this?
Restore the device from a previous backup. Or, if it's new, then Erase All Content & Settings and set up as new again.
Are you wanting to have two separate setups for the devices? I'd recommend using two separate Apple IDs then, but be advised, you can't transfer purchases between Apple IDs. -

My observations: On the iPhone (display model at AT&T store) the blacks in the lower right corner show no "shimmering" at all and the ground is visible. The contrast seems higher on the iPhone.
On my iPod Touch the ground is visible in the lower right corner, but there is a bit of a shimmer effect. It appears as if there is a glare protector on the iPod Touch, some of the image details looked more crisp on my Touch than on the iPhone.So I ended up exchanging my week 37 for a week 38 model, although the shimmer effect seemed to be nominal, now that I have a week 38 I can really see a difference and now I have to take back another week 37 model that I have (I bought two) I'll be able to show the Apple Genius the differences.
I was able to exchange mine without a restocking fee (which on these can be quite high at 20%) here is what I did. 1. I called the Apple Store and talked to the manager and explained to her the problem. I got this bit about "you'd have to be able to prove a problem in order to avoid the restocking fee". Since all Apple stores are hot spots I prepared some images and test that demonstrate the problem and once in the store I opened up this page on Safari on my defective Touch as well as on an iPhone being demoed in the store to demonstrate to the genius what was wrong. I'll share that link now:

Once he saw the effect happening by comparison himself acknowledged it and he immediately called over his manager. I heard him say "notice how the blacks are like a mirror". He came back and said "we'll there is no gaurntee that the one we give you will not have this problem". At that point my mind raced... Wait a minute, they know! they know about this issue and they are playing it off like they don't. So I decided honesty was best I said "look you can look on-line in the Apple forums, people are reporting this problem. People are saying the week 38 models don't seem to have this issue, I would like to exchange it for one of those". I then explained to the genius what I was talking about with the serial number and he went in the back and found a week 38 model.
I got it home and subjected it to all the test shots and I have zero shimmer. My original Touch was not as bad as some, but it had the problem and on some movies (e.g. 300) it hurt my eyes. If you have a week 37 model and you detect any shimmering (i.e. reflection/negative) of the blacks I would try and return it immediately.
