  • Ipod touch 4g wont charge after I dropped it in toilet?

I dropped my ipod touch 4th gen in the toilet, it was there for around 4 secs then I took it out and I removed the case. I tried using hair dryer and it was working perfectly fine only a bit damage on the lcd so I thought everything was ok but this morning I tried charging it, I left it for a few minutes and then I came back but it was dead, I tried charging it with a different cable and then the charging icon with red battery showed up for a few secs, then the apple logo, and then it went back to dead. then a few seconds later the red battery+charging icon show up again, the apple logo, and then dead again. now I put it in a bag of rice because I dont know what to do I know it's too late, what should I do? huhuhuhu so many important things in this ipod. please help

I would not have used the hair dryer: gets to hot! It maybe to late for this but give it try, if it works your only out a couple bucks. Keep the iPod off, do not attempt to charge or use until the iPod is completely dry. Place the iPod in a sealed bag of uncooked rice for at least a week. Change the rice daily. Then after drying, attempt to turn on your iPod, may need to charge it for an hour. If it works then your in business, check all functions and make sure all is well. If still nothing attempt to reset. If still nothing, contact Apple about replacing your iPod out of warranty for a refurbished iPod. The only question I have is just what are people doing with there iPod's in the toilet in the first place? It's about 20 to 1 dropped iPod in toilet vs bathtub, I'm not judging, just don't get it.

  • Ipod touch 5 wont charge since 7.1.2 update

i have a ipod touch 5 but since i updated it it wont charge, i have bought a new cable and it charges my sisters ipod 5 what has not been updated, it says charger is accepted when its off but when it turns back on it doesn't work, i have reset my ipod too what can i do since its not recognized by my itunes? and btw i have left it plugged in over night turned off to see if it would work and it never i have been patient with apple with their crappy chargers but this is too far and i do not see any other questions like this, please someone help

I had the same exact problem, iOS 7.1.2 blocks 3rd party chargers, and i was using one
Assuming you also are using a 3rd party charger, here is a way to charge your ipod touch that i discovered after some experimentation.
Step 1.) Plug lightning cable into the ipod touch and a 5 watt wall plug(or computer).
Step 2.) Power off the ipod(This shuts down ios and prevents it from detecting the 3rd party charger).
Step 3.) Wait an hour or two.
Step 4.) Unplug the iPod touch
Step 5.) Power on the device.
This should work, it worked for me, just note you will not be able to sync your ipod touch with itunes, and i recommend purchasing a "certified" apple lightning cable.

  • Whats wrong with my ipod touch it wont charge or turn on

my ipod wont turn on i put it on charge it wont charge or anything.  HELP

Important: iPod touch cannot be charged with a FireWire power adapter or FireWire-based car charger.
Verify that the power source being used is working properly.
If connecting to a computer's USB port, verify it is a high-powered USB 2.0 port. Note: The USB ports on most keyboards don't provide enough power, so if you're connecting iPod touch to a keyboard, make sure it has a high-powered USB 2.0 port.
Verify the computer is turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPod touch is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPod touch battery may drain.
    Try another USB port.
Try charging from a USB charger if available.
If that does not help, try another USB cable if available.

  • My ipod 5th generation wont charge after ios 8 update .. does this have something to with the charger not being an apple product?

Before the update my iPod was charging fine. then when I updated it started acting funny like one minute it would charge then it wouldn't then the next after IOS 8 came out my iPod wouldn't charge at all. could it be that my charger isn't an apple product? PLEASE HELP!!!  I have important notes from school on here and I'm afraid to ask my mother for a new one without giving her a good explanation.

Could be that the update make the iPod more aware of marginal cable. Other users have reported the same.

  • My ipod touch 5G wont charge OR SYNC!! what do i do???

hello, I am in desperate need of help. My ipod wont charge or hook up to my computer.
My old ipod charger broke so i got a new cheaper off-brand one, and shortly after i plugged it in it told me that this cable was not registered and it may not work with the ipod. Well, it didnt. it would not charge nor sync with my computer. but anyway, my dad took it back and whilst i was using his, the same message appeared on my screen. Now it wont sync or charge with the apple charger. WHAT DO I DO!?!?!?!?

I think this is no longer an iOS issue; it's more of a hardware problem now.
The problem was probably caused by using a non-original charger. These aren't genuinely from Apple, so they may not have been manufactured the right way. They may have deformed or unaligned the pins inside your iPod's charging socket. Because I think it's kind of impossible for the charger to cause any software problems.
Bring your iPod to a nearby Apple store as soon as you can! Have somebody take a look and determine what the real problem is.
