My iPod Touch 5th Generation no longer connects to my computer

It used to work, but now it doesn't. When I plug the wire into the wall, it works just fine, but I can't update any of my music anymore. I have only had the thing for about four months. I would appreciate if there was a solution that didn't require buying a new cable.

Does it charge when connected to the computer? Some Lightning cables have faild after short use.

On my ipod touch 5th generation i cannot connect to the internet i did every step in the help section. I reset the wifi, I turned the wifi off and on and still nothing. I even tried to put it in manually but still couldnt connect

The product i am using is a Ipod touch 5th Generation, version 8.1. On friday i had laid my ipod on my jacket which was laying on my mom truck and i went to play basketball. So when i got back it was off, at first i thought it died but the ipod was cold. It wasnt turning on i put it on the charger and it still wouldnt turn on. So i kept it on the charger all night and in the morning (saturday 10/25/14) it turned back on. So i went to the wifi to connect to my home wifi and it said no wifi is found. So i reset the network settings on my ipod and turned off the wifi box for 30 seconds then turned both back on and it still said theres no wifi. I followed every step but it still doesnt show any wifi. I tried to enter it manually but it keep saying "Could not find the network". But when i do it on my brothers phone it works. Can someone please help me get wifi back on my Ipod touch. I did all the steps but still nothing work.

A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? See other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router

iPod 5th generation won't connect to the tv after doing an software update. Get an error message (this accessory is Not Supported by iPod touch) please help me with this

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

When I connect my iPod to my Mac Book Pro laptop my music that I've transferred to my iPod and music playlist will appear in my iTunes my music will play with no problem. Now, when I disconnect my iPod from my computer go into my music, my music playlist and music I've downloaded into my iPod disappears. I reconnect my iPod to my computer, everything shows. To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

However, there seems to be a bug in iOS 8 or iTunes 12.1.1 that cause this problem and I have not seen a solution

My Ipod touch and phone will both charge when plugged into the wall. My phone an iphone 4th generation will connect to my laptop. I have uninstalled and installed itunes as well as checking the Apple USB Drive and neither has helped. Not sure if it matters but my computer was recently updated to Windows 8.1. My 5th gen iPod touch will not connect to Secure wifi networks. It always says incorrect passcode. I have checked the passcode over and over again and I am sure it's correct. it's not just happening with my home network, also at work it never works. It is fine connecting to unsecure networks though. please help me.

So i was syncing my ipod touch to itunes, however in the middle of the syncing itunes froze. So i closed itunes and now when i plug my ipod touch back in it wont recognize it or connect to my computer at all. And if i just plug my charger in, it'll pop up as a device, but once i plug my ipod into the charger it shows up as now device connected at all. How can i fix this? i really do not want to have to restart my ipod but if thats what i have to do i'll do it.

My iPod Touch 5th Generation won't sync to my computer

It'll sync to iTunes but not to my computer (the folder that normally holds all my pictures isn't in the My Computer part). It's never had this problem before. My iTunes also keeps saying "iTunes was not installed properly. If you want to import or burn CD's, reinstall it" or something to that affect. Yes, I've uninstalled iTunes and everything to do with Apple and reinstalled everything like eight times but it keeps on doing it. I've given up at this point because I've followed every step that the support has given but to no avail. But I have noticed one thing: in device manager while my iPod Touch is plugged in, it does get recognized but there is an '!' mark on it. The 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' that is normall in the 'Universial Serial Bus controllers' section has moved.
When I right click on the 'Apple iPod' thing, it shows an error saying "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". What do I do? It's not all that bothersome but it is annoying. I'm certainly not buying another iPod Touch just to fix this. Much help is appriciated but please don't give me links to those useless support sections where they say to uninstall everything Apple related and then reinstall it because I've done that like eight times.
