Try:

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My ipod touch 5th generation wont charge or turn on at all,
i upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 and after that my ipod started having trouble charging, at first i though the lightning cable was the problem so i bought 2 more lightning cable chargers and my ipod still would'nt charge, so it died. now the only thing my ipod does is when i try to turn it on it shows the apple logo and then the screen goes off and does it again for a few times and then the screen stays off and my ipod gets really hot but wont turn on for the rest of the day help!!The hotness indicate a hardware problem.

hi!
i have the ipod touch 5th generation and last night i was using like i normally do,but the it just turned off and i thought that my battery died so i put it to charge but im pretty sure that my battery was at least 40% so i found that a little bit odd and when i plug it in it didnt make any sound and nothing showed on the screen. I kind of just ignored it so i let it charge the whole night and the next morning when i woke up the firts thing i did was to check on it. My ipod still wont turn on or charge and tried to connected to my computer but nothing shows up. i will really appreciate if someone could help me.
thank you (:Try:

Since updating iTunes my new iPod touch 5th generation wont show up.
I recently updated iTunes on Friday. But now that I try to sync my iPod touch 5th generation it is not showing up in iTunes. The iPod asks if I trust this computer and I click yes but nothing happens. What should I do?
In case you haven't found this yet... I managed to fix the problem with my iPhones by updating the USB device driver. The instructions are in this thread:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5822553?tstart=0
or you can follow this knowlege base article on the Apple site:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
(for me the problem required me following the instructions in the "If only Apple iPhone, Apple iPad, or Apple iPod appears" section, but it may be different in your case)
Maybe Apple updated the USB drivers in this updated version of iTunes? I'm not sure why the installer failed to install these drivers automatically (maybe that isn't possible??). Maybe this is just a Windows problem and has nothing to do with Apple? Who knows... -

Not Charge
- See:
iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Ipod touch 5th generation wont restore
Hi
My ipod's password was entered wrong too many times and now it says " ipod disabled, connect to itunes".
My ipod has never been syncronised before. So i put it into recovery mode. The computer says that it has to update the ipod first so i start updating it.
Once the update is completely finished downloading, it just returns to the original screen of the restoration and nothing has happened to the ipod.
Please help.

Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

How can I get my speaker fixed I cant hear only when I use my ear phones
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

So I dropped it... And the screen cracked a bit. It's fairly new (got it in November) but I noticed Apple doesn't cover accidents like mine. Anyone know the prices for getting a replacement/ repair? It's not that bad of a crack, but it's annoying and new so..Yah. Any help with prices for a replacement/warranty would be helpful and on how I should do it. Maybe I can get a replacement for cheap or free cuz I got it recently and I've never complained to Apple before? I know it's my mistake but I'd be thankful if you guys could help! Thanks!
Sorry, but the warranty does not cover accidental damage no matter how recently you got your iPod. As to servicing, Apple does not repair iPods, but will replace the entire iPod for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:
http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/
There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair". It is also possible to purchase parts and find instructions on doing a repair yourself, though it's not particularly easy. Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPod serviced by an unauthorized shop or perform a repair yourself, all further support from Apple will be void.

I got this iPod about 3 weeks ago. Whenever I connect my iPod to the charger the touch sensor seems to stop working. When my alarm goes off in the mornings i have to unplug the charger to stop the alarm. I cant do anything while the charger is connected. Any ideas what the problem is or how I can stop this happening?
A few other users have report the same but I have not heard of a solution. Y can try:
- Another cable
- Another USB port
- A wall charger
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

HELP! My brand new iPod touch 5th generation might be broken!
Hello, I recently got my Space Gray iPod touch 5th Generation that is 32GB and version is iOS 7.1.2. When I finally got it and was opening the package and trying to open it. I didn't know that there were 2 tabs on the bottom and top and I tried to pull the ipod out itself. I noticed I had to pull the tabs and then I got paranoid that I bent the ipod and it broke from the inside. Anyways, I set it up with no problem but when I went to sign in to App Store from my apple account and switched the keyboard to the numbers and other characters the keyboard got these weird short white lines and I got paranoid but when I switched the keyboard again and went back to the numbers keyboard the white lines did not appear. Now nothing strange is happening but I though that was a sign of my ipod was broken from the inside so I shaked ipod and heard nothing rattling from the inside so that gave a little relief. But I'm still VERY stressed out and paranoid because my mother got me this iPod from going to 5 stores to find the color I wanted and now I thought I was going to break it . Please help me apple community. Is the inside of my ipod ok? are there any other signs of the inside of the ipod broken? Please help, I'm only 12 and I'm going through so much stress .
