My iPod touch 6.1.5 doesn't update to IOS 7. How can I update it?

About 3 years ago I bought my mother an iPod touch and so she only used it for abouut 2 years and stopped using it. She started using it just a couple months ago, but the device is still in the firmware 6.1.5 and I trieyd updating it to the current version of IOS, but all it says is "Your software is up to date." How can I update it to the current version?? Need an answer quick... If theres no way then I totally understand. Thank you!

Sorry to say, your maxed out. The iPod 4 can't go to IOS 7. Not enough RAM, IOS 7 requires 512MB, the iPod 4 only has 256MB.

You need a newer model iPod, a 4G or 5G. The 2G can only go to iOS 4.2.1

By looking for it. If you have activated FaceTime or some other app that will make a sound when you activate the app (Call with FaceTime or Skype) that will help. Otherwise ther is nothing special you can do. Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report it to the police in case someone turns it in.

How do I get access to Itunes if my husband has already downloaded itunes on our 2 computers and his iphone 4 is the device for one computer and the ipod touch is the device for the second? I have already set up my own itunes account, but it doesn't recognize my phone on either of the computers. Do I need to down load a second itunes software on the computer just for my new device. There is no "adding" a device. Simply plug the iDevice into the computer. iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit.

I read some reviews about the same problem and people have said to plug it in a wall charger and wait for an hour. Is there any other way for it to come back on? Hi just wondering how to sync my ipod touch using itunes - when the ipod will not show up as a device. I am having trouble with the ipod as it is displaying the incorrect date, will not access my email etc. However when I go to sync it (thinking this would help) it does not even show upin itunes. For the other problem go to Settings>General>International and make sure the calendar is set to Gregorian. The reset time and date. That may resolve the mail problem

My iPod touch 3g has over 200 apps with no icons. How can I remove those apps?

I am very frustrated by this, I cant seem to find an answer online. When using the spotlight search, I can access all these apps (200+), but they have no icons on the home screen. I tried connecting to itunes, but I cant find a way to access these apps from there either. Id like to free up the space on the ipod touch. Any advice will be very appreciated.

No, I have 3 pages of 20 icons of apps. When using spotlight search, I can access hundreds more apps (iPod is 5 yrs old) but those apps don't have icons on the home screen so I can't delete them. For example, in spotlight search, I type a "B", 50 apps appear in the list that begin with "B". Theres an app called "Beat the traffic". I can use the app. But it has no icon to make shake and delete.

No, I have not tried any backup tools. I havent restored my ipod back to factory settings yet and then sync everything back on it. I am kind of scared too because I dont want to lose anything. I have just been hoping some new apple software update will come out because I know several people have had problems when updating to the newest version available.

If the sleep/wake button doesn't work use the home button and if the home button doesn't work it's the other way around, however if both of them don't work charge it with your connector connected with your computer or wall socket and it will turn on. Hope this helps.
