My iPod Touch, 64gb, not jailbroken, is stuck on the loading white circle page and cannot sync?

It is stuck on the page when it just turns on. My mom was recording a video and it just startyed to say rebuilding library( it does once a day). It shut itself off with 3/4 battery. And if I press the Home and Sleep/power buttons simoultaneously, will I lose my data? I haven't synced it in a long time. Oh and it cannot sync on itunes it says "Cannot sync with this Iphone because of Unknow Error (0x(lol forgot))" even thougfh its an itouch, 4g. Please Help!!!

Try a hard reset. You won't lose any data. Try a restore if that does not work.

You may need to hold the sleep/wake button and the home button until the apple logo appears. Or anther thing you can try is draining the battery until the battery is dead. That's what i tried and worked. You may need to do those things more than 2 times. OH anther thing is you can try connecting you ipod to your computer and see if it appears on itunes. If those don't work you can send it to apple. So that's what helped me I hope I answered your question.

allison i had the same problem to but then i figured out! You have to put in a credit card number so you can purchase a game thats free or 0.99 cents or higher then you have to fill in other stuff then press next on your ipod touch or computer then it says you have succesifully created an apple id! Today the volume bar disappeared on my iPod Touch leaving me with no volume control. When I tried to do a restore I got the message "iPod Touch can not be backed up. The file needed can not be found" I'm in a double whammy here. First off has anyone ever got and cured either problem?

Problem solved thanks to another post here on the same topic.
1-Opened i Tunes & Connected iPod Touch
2- Unchecked "Open iTunes when connected"
3 - Synched iPod
4- Hit "Apply"
5- Checked "Open iTunes when connected"
6- Synched iPod
7 - Hit "Apply"
8- Ejected iPod and closed iTunes
9- Re-connected iPod Touch
10- iTunes opened automatically!

Another charging source? Does iTunes see the iPod when you connect to your computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.

Thank you I tried the reset again did not fix- I think I am down to calling Apple and paying for a tech - phone company says it is a software problem. I just updated to 8.1.3 - I thought the update might fix it.

Hi was syncing my ipod touch 4th gen it does not recognise my ipod in itunes and have been restarting the computer and following instructing to try and get it going again but nothing will work. All i am left with on my screen is a picture of the ipod cable with an arrow pointing upwards the word itunes then the itunes blue circle with the music note in it. any ideas on how this can be restored as i have now drawn a blank.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and onnect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

Ok, so i had my iPod Touch 4G since June of 2011. It is currently running iOS 5 and I have never had a problem. I got on the bus this afternoon after school and I tried to turn it on. It would boot, then get stuck at the Apple boot logo. This iPod has never taken damage by anything. If the iPod would be broken (physically), so would my phone, since they are in the exact same spot. I have plugged it into my iHome to charge it, but this morning, the battery was 94%. It was off all day, so the battery wouldn't be dead. Please help, as I had this iPod for the longest time.
P.S. I also tried Lock+Home to reset, and iTunes will not read it.

In my post, it said iTunes will not read it. But I tried to hold the home button.

I need help before i go to the apple store for help.
My problem is that I have an Ipod touch which it was working fine but now it will not boot all the way.
It will not show the red bar when is ready to be turn off or reboot when using both buttons to reset it it will only come to the apple logo then goes blank.
I tried to restore via Itunes but same result, it will start showing is doing the extract then it will go blank and get a message saying that It can not find the device.
What do i need to do.

IPod Touch 4g not detected by itunes half the time

Since this is my first post I will start by saying greetings to all! I've been having issues with my ipod and I was hoping someone could shed some light on the issue. A week after I got my iPod Touch this issue came up and it's beginning to get on my nerves a bit. Everytime I plug in my iPod with iTunes loaded I have basically a 1/5 shot of it actually being recognized. At first I thought it might be Win7 being flakey as usual but even when iTunes does not see my iPod windows gives me the "autorun" option to view the pictures on it. This leads me to believe it is an iTunes issue. The only way around this is to leave iTunes open and repeatedly unplug and replug my iPod into the usb port, once I plug it in I wait about 5 seconds and eventually iTunes notices my iPod and goes about it's merry way. At this point it will sync perfectly with no issues what so ever. However? If I were to close iTunes and re-open I have to repeat the process all over again.
So my questions are these:
Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, has anyone else figured out how to fix it?
I'd really rather NOT reinstall iTunes and risk it possibly destroying my entire music collection. I've spend a long time ripping CDs and organizing them (OCD style) into directories with proper tags and album art.

Windows 7 Professional x64 - SP1
AMD Phenom II X4 995 @ 3.2GHz
4 GB DDR3-1600 RAM

This is exactly why I am here today. I have this problem about the same as you and I have a similar computer. I have to try over and over and go into settings to shut down iTunes when it freezes, then try again. It does with with both my iPad and my iPod. I am on my 2nd iPod and the first one was the same way. This is the main reason I was hesitant to get an iPad. On my first day owning the iPad, at least I had Apple help and they were on the phone with me for 3 hours trying to get it to work. They were never able to help me. BUt, for that time at least, I just changed USB ports and it synched immediately. That is not my problem at the momen though, when my iPod did not sync until the 5th try. It's very frusrating.

My ipod touch will not charge when I use the FM transmitter.

I have a FM ransmitter that will play music when I attach my 3rd generation ipod touch but it will not charge it. But I receive an error message that my ipod doesn't support this device. I have the same problem, my ipod connects to various wifi networs supplying internet to other devices but I cannot use safari... pages connect/ download endlessly. However Map app works fine. Wifi signals strong.

Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and tap the Apple ID listed and sign out and sign in with other ID
You also may want to go to other places like:
- Settings>iCloud
- Settinge>FaceTime
- Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and change the ID
It may be best to go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings and start over again and set up the iPod again with his account/ID
