My ipod touch 8gb wont turn on or charge i havent charged it in two days. the reset wont work

Okay i havent charged my Itouch in about two days. I tried to charge it today and it wont turn on. I even tried too push the home button and the sleep button together for a minute and it still wont turn on HELP ME!!!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Ipod touch 8GB cannot turn on

My Ipod touch 8GB cannot turn on even when I press the home button and sleep/wake up button together as instructed. It keeps on showing the sign whereby need to connect to Itunes. However, we connected it but it still does not turn on and the home screen never came up! >_<

Is it still charging? If yes, make sure it has been charged for at least 15min, then connect in recovery mode, explained in this article: iOS: Unable to update or restore

  • Hey i just pulled my old ipod nano out of my attic and it doesnt seem to turn on i charged it for two days but nothing happened

hey i just pulled my old ipod out of my attic and it doesnt seem to turn on i charged it for two days but nothing happened does anyone know the problem?

Given that it probably hasn't been used in years, it's likely that the battery is shot and in need of replacement.  However, the damage may be more than that, since it won't even power on, so it's hard to say for sure.

  • New ipod touch 8gb wont read on computer at all...not even in "my computer"

i bought an ipod touch 8gb today and brought it home and downloaded itunes then plugged ipod in...says its got full battery, but on 4 computers, it wont read on any of them using every usb port there was on each computer...ipod wont even show up in "my computer"....what is wrong? i have tried the updating drivers and reinstallling drivers and reinstalling itunes and even going down to itunes 7 and 8 versions but no matter what i do my computers will not read my ipod touch...yes the usb ports do work and are minimum 2.0 and system requirements are exceeded as i have expensive computers...what is wrong

I had the same problem when I bought my Touch 2 months ago. Here is fix I used:
    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090209182107AAR4juY
First (MAKE SURE YOUR IPOD ISNT CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER, AND ITUNES IS RUNNING!!) you have to reset it by holding your home and power button. Make sure you slide it to power off. Then as it powers on, hold the home button and connect your ipod to the computer at the same time. (DO NOT LET IT GO FOR ANY REASON) as iTunes loads it, it'll say that your iPod is going into recovery mode. Click ok, and restore it.
It worked for me. Hope it helps...

  • Ipod touch 2G wont work with wall charger

my ipod touch will charge fine when plugged into my computer, but when plugged into a 2005 USB wall charger that i just bought unopened, the little battery icon in the top right flicks from charging to fully charged and back and forth when i know it is nowhere near fully charged.
I am also using an old usb cable that came with my ipod video 5G, but the touch works fine with that cable in the computer.
    How do i fix this?

With the release of the 2nd Gen iPod Touch, Apple changed their charging system within the iPod and iPhone lines, rendering older chargers useless for the new devices. That it even claims to charge in any fashion is strange. It is possible the charger is simply defective or unable to provide the necessary power for the iPod Touch.
Technical side: If your charger is using the Firewire charging pins, it will no longer work on the newer devices. Look for 5v at 1 amp output.

  • Ipod touch 4gen wont work

so i plugged my ipod in to thw wall and i heard this pop noise and then it smelt like something was burning so i unplugged everything and then my ipod touch 4gen started to get really hot so i just let it sit then well then it cooled down and i tried to turn it on but it wont turn in i have also tried to reset it but that dident work either and it wont show up on itunes either. if somebody could please help me that would be nice.

At this point I'd suggest that you don't try anything other than taking in it for diagnostics and service. Make a reservation at the nearest Apple Store Genius Bar and let them tell you whether the iPod can be salvaged or if it needs replacement.

  • My ipod touch will not turn on or charge, and there is NO WAY to find the serial number to sort it out

Does anybody know what I can do in this situation?
I've had the ipod touch for over 3 years, was given as a gift, has never been badly damaged or anything.
It just won't charge at all -  I have tried leaving it plugged into the computer for hours, trying different cables. I left it plugged into the wall overnight, and still the dead battery icon is the only thing that comes up.
I have tried resetting and restarting it but nothing's happened. I've tried contacting Apple for support but they can't do anything without my serial number - which is too faded on the back of the product to make out. Obviously I can't find the serial number on the device as it won't turn on, I don't have any packaging for it left, and it won't connect to iTunes either. I've also looked at my devices in iTunes to try find it but it's not there.
Basically, I've tried pretty much everything the internet has suggested and it's not getting me anywhere.
I have no idea why this is happening and right now I'm at a deadend so please let me know if you have any further advice you can offer. Thank you!

    hello,
my ipod touch wont let me put on apps. when i try to sync them from itunes it acts like the apps are not compatible with the ipod even tho i have had the apps on the ipod before... PLEASE HELP!!

You will need to make sure first of all that the iPod Touch is logged into the same AppleID that purchased the Apps. You can verify this by going to Settings -> Store -> Sign In (and then sign in to the same AppleID).
