My ipod touch camera freezes

My ipod touch camera freezes when I try to use the camera.

I have had the same problem. I have a iPod touch 4th generation and this is the second time this has happened and the first time I just needed to clean the camera but this time both won't work sometimes the shutter will stay there and not move or it will show all the buttons but the screen will be black the actions will be faded.i have done the multi task bar restored it cleaned it and I don't want to send it ti apple. If u get a camera app from the app store like Camwow or camera! App it will show up then it will freeze and go back to black so when there is a new I pod or ipone I am going to sell my iPod to get a new apple device so clean it and update an restore if it still dose not work then u can wait or send it to apple or call apple supports number.

I just baught a new iPod and had the "blue screen" problem with the camera. Your suggestion to "Reset" fixed the problem:

If you did not restore to factory defaults/new iPod do that. If yuo are still having problem then an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. You likely have a hardware problem.

  • Ipod touch 2g freezing after unlocking

My ipod touch is freezing and having many issues right after I unlock it.
Usually it locks up and the screen and both buttons become un-responsive.
I end up having to hold both buttons down to restart, but it just freezes again right after unlocking.
What advice do you guys have?
It's 4 months old and has had relatively low use. I have a 2 year old Second Gen that's working perfectly.

First I would restore from backup via iTunes to see it that fixes problem
Next would be to restore to factory defaults, also via iTunes, and then sync.
If those do not solve problem I would say it is a hardware problem and you should either call AppleCare or make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store

  • My ipod touch is freezing

my ipod touch is freezing... I already tried pressing together the sleep/on-off & home buttons but it didn't work... what else can it do? the screen have these lines of light green, purple, magenta...

Take a look at this link http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/troubleshooting/ipodtouch/
I would suggest removing itunes through add/remove and then installing the latest version 7.6 and then hook your Ipod up and reset it while it's hooked up.
    To Reset you do this
    1. Turn iPod Touch OFF completely.
    2. Plug iPod Touch into PC/MAC while still off.
    3. Turn iPod touch on, then IMMEDIATELY do the following steps
    4. Hold the 'Home button' and 'sleep/wake' button together for atleast 5 seconds.
    5. The Apple logo will appear
    6. When this happens release the 'sleep/wake' button BUT KEEP HOLD OF 'HOME' BUTTON
    7. Your iPod will reboot (Apple logo)
    6. iTunes will recognise iPod in 'Recovery mode'
    8. You will be able to 'restore' your iPod Touch now.

Why is my iPod touch camera so BAD... isn't it supposed to be 5mp?

    " isn't it supposed to be 5mp?"
    No.
"still photos (960 x 720) with back camera"
    That is about .7 MP.

  • IPod Touch 4g freezes, unfreezes after lock/unlock

My iPod touch 4g freezes after a while when you're doing nothing.
e.g. If you keep swiping to different app pages, it won't freeze. But once you stop and pause for a while, it freezes.
Then when i lock it, and unlock it, the touchscreen works again. And then it's back to the above problem.
Is this a problem with the digitizer? Or is it a software problem?
(iPod Touch has been jailbroken a few times, but is currently factory restored in an attempt to solve the problem.)

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings

  • IPod touch sync freezes

iPod touch sync freezes at calendar sync, wired or wireless. Have rebooted computer and restored ipod to no avail. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help. After running "Activity Monitor" and going through the iTunes/iPod Touch sync process I was able to determine the suspect application that most likely caused the conflict.
While watching "Activity Monitor" almost immediately an application called "CNQL1208_ButtonManager" crashed - locking up the computer. I was able to determine by checking out a few bulletin boards that this application is the culprit in more than one problem on both Macs and Pc's. It's an app that gets loaded at start-up, which monitors the buttons on the front of my Canon Scanner (Model LiDE 35). Part of the CanoScan software download/driver for this model. I trashed this file and everything appears to work fine. In fact, the sync with my iPod touch seems to happen much faster.
The other possibility is that there was a conflict with PalmBackground Monitor, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
Thanks again for the Activity Monitor suggestion.

  • IPod touch screen freezes up and become unresponsive whenever it needs to prompt me for passcode

I know my problem may sound strange. My iPod touch is complete screwed to the point that I can only unlock it using the password when it boots up from off mode. After that, when I lock the screen and it prompts me for the password again, I slide the slider and it hangs down there. I tried to go to the settings app to turn off the passcode but it needs to prompt me to enter my current passcode before I can enter to turn it off and it just hangs down there. I tried to Reset All Settings which also needs my passcode, I tapped on "Reset All Settings" and the next thing it should pop out is ask me to enter my passcode but it just freezes down there being unresponsive. Help. I've tried restoring but there was an error message in the process of restoring.

I suspected it is a bug of iOS 5.1.1. The problem is in a very vicious loop. But with many tries, there will be times when it doesn't hang when it needs to prompt you to enter a passcode. Found a solution here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18896056

  • My iPod Touch is freezing and rebooting itself.

    Hi.
    Here's the story:
My iPod was recently working yesterday. I left it on the wall charger for a while, and later I come back to find my iPod frozen, out of nowhere. For another while, it freezes and starts to reboot itself. I done all I can. I watched videos on how to unfreeze it and etc, and I tried restoring it, and doing about everything I can to recover this iPod, it doesn't work. So I turned it off, and let it settle overnight. This morning, I turn it on, and it restored, everything was working fine, until when I go to my Messages app, it freezes once again, and now it is doing the same thing, but this time it repeats to the home screen, freezes, and reboots again. I tried calling for support and they said my warranty is expired.
I own an iPod Touch 4G, 8GB, for about 6 months.
To be specific: It always goes to the Apple logo and then the loading circle then shuts off, then does it again. Before this problem about a day before this happened, I accidentally put a little water on it and wiped it off while I was working on chores. (Sorry, I often have it next to me a lot.) Plus, I did have a lot of data on it but it didn't seem much of a problem.
Please, if anyone can help, tell me what is the reason behind this problem, and at least if you can try to solve this for me. I will try going to a local Apple store later on if this problem keeps going. But for right now, I need this help. Thank you all.
    Bye.

    - Have yu tried letting the battery fully draining and then charging and trying to retore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod?
    - Try placing it is recovery mode and then DFU mode and then restoring if necessary.
