My iPod touch can't connect to my iTunes.

Hello everyone!
My iPod won't connect to iTunes, though I have tried several times.
My computer recognizes my iPod, but not iTunes, so I know it's well connected.
A message of error appears in my iTunes when I tri to connect my iPod.  It is in French, for those who understand it.  It says: « iTunes n'a pas pu connecté l'iPod, car l'enregistrement du jumelage est manquant ».  Basically it says that my iPod can't be connected because there's a matching that is not registered, if that makes sense...
I would really like to add new songs to my iPod because I'm soon leaving for vacation!!
Thank you!

can some one tell my why the ipod touch will not connect to the itunes store - just says it can not connect.

    Hello, rumisha.
Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot the connection to the iTunes store you are experiencing on your iPod Touch.  Scroll to the section labeled Troubleshooting on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.  Attempt to connect to another wifi network to see if the issue persists as this could be the cause.

Also, check the date and time.  I have attached a screen shot as this could cause an issue if not set correctly.

  • I installed iTunes 8.2.1 successfully but my ipod touch can't connect

I installed iTunes 8.2.1 successfully but my ipodtouch can't connect to my itunes, saying that "Please connect this iPod to a computer running Windows Vista or a 32-bit version of windows xp(Service Pack2) please help me? I want to put some musics on my ipod touch
BTW I used Windows XP 64-bit Service pack 2
please I'm begging you help me I can't use my ipod touch Q_Q

64-bit XP is the clue, Katrina. A bunch of the 64-bit XP Orca-based workarounds out on the web don't work for 9.0.x, because of the way the iPod Service and AMDS have gone 64-bit in the 9.0.x versions. So those folks will often try installing an 8.x instead.
(It's been weeks since I last checked ... so I'm not sure if there are any newer versions of the workarounds available.)

  • New Ipod touch can't connect to itunes due admin restrictions.

I just got a new Ipod touch. Where I'm located i'm unable to connect to the iTunes store since it is blocked. Is there any otherway to activate my iPod. I'm unable to go any other place in which I would be able to connect to the store. It's going to be like this for quite some time.

If the iPod came with iOS 5 you can activae/set it up via wif.  From the Users Guide:
    Setting up iPod touch
To set up and activate iPod touch, just turn it on and follow the onscreen instructions that step
you through the setup process, including:
    Connecting to a Wi-Fi network
    Â
Signing in with or creating a free Apple ID
    Â
    Setting up iCloud
    Â
Turning on recommended features such as Location Services and Find My iPod
    Â
    Activating iPod touch
    Â
If not iOS 5 you ned to connect it to a computer with internet access and iTunes.

  • IPod Touch can't connect to imap/smtp server

I have a 1st generation iPod Touch running iOS 3.1.3 (it's the iPhone OS, and I suspect that this problem is OS related).  I have half a dozen gmail accounts to which I connect to over WiFi using IMAP for reading and SMTP for sending.  It works flawlessly at home and almost always in public WiFi (Tim Hortons, McDonalds, Second Cup, Starbucks, malls, etc.).  Today, I tried it at another site, and all I got were the messages in the subject line (to the best of my memory).  Googling revealed that 2 ways to solve this was to re-enter the login information and to reset to factory default settings.  Obviously, I don't want to do the latter until I exhausted all possibilities.  However, the former doesn't work.  In fact, even after going to locations where email worked in the past, I continued getting the above error messages.  Web access, however, is fine.
When I got home, email worked flawlessly.  That means I don't have to reset to factory default.  But what could cause such a departure from the long history of proper functionality?

could you please explain how this is a gmail issue?
You are having a problem connecting to your email severs, which as you stated is Gmail ("half dozen gmail accounts")  You have recreated the accounts in the device without success.  THis all speaks to Gmail issues. Google has recently changed the Gmail configuration and severs. AFAIK, there is no incompatiblity with iOS 3.1.3, but you need to verfy with Google.
As for being an iPod Touch, I *suspect* that the OS is more likely the problem than the hardware.
Huh?  What's that got to do with iPhones?  Both the iPhone and iPod Touch use iOS.  Your post is about an iPod Touch 1G and belongs in the iPod Touch forum, where it has already been moved.

  • Brand New Ipod touch can't connect to windows.

I bought a brand new ipod touch today and when I connected it to my laptop windows comes up with a message saying that the usb device is not recognised. I have the latest update for itunes and all of the correct drivers are installed. I have tried resetting the iPod but nothing works. Anyone got any ideas? I'm running vista if this makes any difference.

    A Vista
B Apple services are not well tuned for Windows
C USB ports on some computers (don't use a hub, use direct to MB connections)
iOS Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
I have to go into Services with iTunes closed, and restart the three Apple items, Apple Mobile, Bonjour, iPod.
Safari 5.1 Apple Common software support 2.x also seemed to muck around a bit. All Apple software leaves behind reinstall caches of all verions too.
AppData - clean out so that starts fresh
Upgrade to 7 SP1. (I assume you are on SP2+ now for Vista)

  • Brand new Ipod Touch can't been seen in Itunes

    Hi there,
I hope someone can help as this is driving me mad!
I have just received a brand new Ipod TOuch but when I connect it to my PC per the installation instructions I get the following message "Itunes could not connect to the Iphone because an invalid response was received from the device"
I have uninstalled all Apple products from my PC and reinstalled most up to-date version of Itunes.
I have tried different USB ports.
I have stopped and re-started the "Apple mobile device" and "Ipod Service" services.
I have done all of the above in various combinations and re-started my PC numerous times.
None of this makes any difference.
The Ipod does not appear in my "My Computer" but when go into device manager on "My Computer" it is listed there so it would appear that my PC can see the Ipod.
I tried it on another laptop and a brand new installation of Itunes sees the Ipod fine, no problems.
However I have previously used an Ipod Nano on this PC and this I think is what is causing the problems.
I have listed below the content of the Itunes Diagnostics file in the hope that that will help. I see that it does mention the Ipod Nano previously used.

Okay, I had this same issue as soon as I updated to iTune 8.2. Someone gave me an idea about renaming a certain file, which I thought worked for a little bit. The issue came back and I am back in the same boat!
The bad news is to find a version of iTune 8.1. Uninstall everything and then reinstall iTune 8.1. This has worked for some; however, some have even had to restore their iPod Touchs!
I am giving in and doing this tonight. I waited as long as I could for the fix. My wife has an iPhone and we have NOT upgraded her iTunes to 8.2 because I have read iPhone users having a similar issue. If her iPhone died, then that would be ultimate deal breaker.

  • My iPod touch will not connect to the itunes app!

Hi, my ipod touch(4th generation) will not connect to the itunes app, app store, or the internet. It is connected to my wifi and shows full bars with connectivity. However when I click on the itunes app it takes to a blank white screen and says it is loading. It stays on that screen for about 5 minutes and then a little blue box pops up and says unable to connect to itunes store. I don't understand this because I also have an Ipad 2 connected to the same wifi and that has no problem connecting to the itunes store or internet. So I don't understand why my iPad can get on itunes while my iPod can't, when they are on the same wifi connection. Can anyone please help me!!!

  • My Ipod Touch can not be recognised by itunes

I installed the latest version of itunes, as I connect my Ipod touch I receive a message "An iphone has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect iPhone, then try again."
So does anybody know how can I identify my Ipod touch as Ipod touch to itunes?
I tried all the suggestion on support page. Nothing works:( Please I need help!!!!

I've had my iPod Touch for a couple of months now and I have this same problem. If you don't want to hear my rant then just skip this one.
First, the praise. Once you get music on the device it is a *beautiful, very cool* machine. This is the first Apple product I have ever owned. I came to the table with the utmost respect for all the success Apple has had and the clever innovations those folks have brought to the market place.
Alas, I am sorely disappointed in my experience. It's primarily that the ability to connect the iPod to iTunes (on Windows XP Pro) is pure unadulterated crap that works properly about 20% of the time. iTunes works great. The iPod works great with the content that it already has. But the connection between the two has utterly destroyed my respect for Apple's engineering capabilities.
Most of the time the iPod won't connect to iTunes even though I try 4 different USB ports.
It is not uncommon to get error messages from iTunes, when it finally sees that something is connected, about not be able to successfully connect to the iPhone. Um, it's not an iPhone. Maybe that's where the confusion lies?
A good bit of the album artwork on the iPod is scrambled even though it is correct in iTunes.
800 songs takes several hours to sync down to the iPod over USB 2.0 ... if I can ever get it connected.
What an embarrassment for a company that is known the world over for giving outstanding user experience.
My little 512MB Sansa MP3 never gives me a minute of trouble. The one time that it did, Sansa just took my word that it was still under warranty (yeah, they could probably tell from the serial number) and replaced it. No fuss, no muss.
I do hope Apple will get this straightened out. I was not likely to ever buy an Apple product prior to this. This experience with the Touch has just hardened that position.

  • IPod touch stuck on connect to iTunes screen, no way to enter passcode

My son's 64 iPod Touch is stuck on the connect to iTunes screen.  We plugged it into the computer and followed the steps with the Home button explained in previous threads, but we can't even get into iTunes to launch recovery and restore.  It keeps saying the iPod is locked and that a passcode is required.  We know the passcode, but there is no place we can see where to enter it.  The computer should recognize the device too, since it's the same computer the iPod was synced to before, but it is still asking for a passcode.  The iPod is only 18 months old and has never been tampered with, all by the book.   So how do we get past this problem and into recovery and restore?  Apple website says they want $219 just to look at a device!  I already spent $500 to buy it, so hundreds more to make it work properly is not an option.  Help!

That's just it.  I think its already in recovery mode.   But when I try to connect to iTunes to get to restore,  I don't get the message I'm supposed to get saying it recognizes a device in recovery mode.  All it says is that it knows the name of the iPod but can't connect it to iTunes because the iPod is locked.  It says I have to enter a passcode to unlock the iPod first.  But there's no way to enter the passcode, neither on the iPod or the computer.  How do I get out of this loop?  Tried to put it into DFU, but it asks for a passcode too.
