  • Ipod Touch does not connect to Itunes

I´ve just bought an Ipod Touch, I´ve updated Itunes and OS, but when I connect the Ipod through the USB-port (tried both) it does not pop up in Itunes as with my previous Ipods

What's the specific model (e.g. size/processor speed) of your PB G4? I ask, because my wife's 12" PB G4 (867 MHz), which is capable of running Leopard (barely), has only USB 1.1 ports, not USB 2.0. The requirements for the IPT include USB 2.0 (1.1 is unsupported, apparently works, but not consistently, and often not for a full sync, just for small updates).

  • My ipod touch does not connect to the computer..  how to make the itunes connect to the ipod touch?

My new macbook pro does not seem to recognize my ipod touch..
The sync screen is not appearing and it is not connecting to itunes.
The Ipod is not getting electricity from the usb port.
The USB ports work well with the flash memories.
    What could be the problem?

    Try here.

If you can, try a different USB port.
If you can charge the iPod from a wall outlet, charge to 100%, then try connecting to your Mac.

  • My computer no longer recognizes my iPod Touch. And the iPod Touch does not recognize that it is connected to a computer.

My computer no longer recognizes my iPod Touch. And the iPod Touch does not recognize that it is connected to a computer.  It has worked great for many days until today.
I’ve tried two different Apple cables.
I’ve tried different USB ports on the computer.
I have rebooted both the Mac and the iPod.
I’ve wiggled the cables and checked for dust in the connectors.
The iPod charges using this same cable connected to wall wart.  That’s a good sign.
Both the Mac and iPod seem to work fine separate from each other.  They just won’t talk anymore.
    Mac mini
    1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo
    OS 10.4.11
    iTunes 9.2.1
    iPod Touch 32GB, version 3.1.3 (7E18), model PB533LL

I found this possible solution on another support thread, so I tried it.
    turn off iPod
hold Sleep and Home buttons to start it.
When Apple appears, let go of Sleep button, but keep holding Home button.
When screen goes blank, let go of Home button.
Connect cable and check iTunes to see if it has conencted.
This did not work for me.
I then turned off the iPod, restarted the Mac, and restarted the iPod normally.
I connected them with the cable, and it works like normal.  :-)

  • Ipod touch does not appear in itunes on a computer with windows 8.1

I purchased the latest ipod touch for my daughter from an apple store but it would not display in Itunes on a computer running Windows 8.1.
The apple technician got it to work but in the process disabled the the driver for the CD/DVD reader. What gives?

I have no clue what you mean by "all the different methods."  Here are my suggestions.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Ipod touch does not synch calendar or notes with my Windows Vista  PC

They used to work fine, but stopped around 2 weeks ago. I connect my ipod to i tunes, but the "info" area of itunes is not allowing me to tick the boxes to synch calendar, outlook, or notes.

    Hello Welcome To Apple Discussions
plug in your ipod and select the info tab and look for calender sync (something similar to that) and click the program your using for your calender.

  • IPod Touch will not connect to wi-fi away from home

I realise this may not be a fresh topic but I've searched and cannot find an answer.
My Touch - more or less brand new - connects to my home wi-fi with no hassle. Syncs, the whole bit. Lovely.
But it won't work away from my home. It recognises wi-fi networks, let's me connect to them but won't actually let me access webpages or update my mail. The mail aspect is the biggest problem as I'm away from it most of the day and bought the Touch to solve the problem. It says it's updating but nothing is downloaded.
Accessing the internet, even with wi-fi apparently switched on, doesn't work either. I've even tried renewing leases on wi-fi networks but it still won't work. Please help.

    Hello
Couple reasons for why iPod Touch will not connect to WiFi Networks outside the house
    1. They are using Mac Address Filtering. Which require the WiFi address in your iPod Touch to be programmed into their WiFi Router. Not much you can do to fix that unless you know who owns the network and they are willing to add you
    2. The networks are running in 802.11 n Speed only mode. Thus iPod Touch will not connect as the touch only supports 802.11 B/G connections. They could also be using the old 802.11 (A) connection on the network as well
    3. As stated earlier they could have outdated Firmware/Software on the router. Thus making the router out of date and not able to connect modern day devices. So if you know the owner it may be advised they contact router manufacture or their tech to update the firmware/software and see if touch connects after
    4. Outdated Touch Software. Ensure you have the latest free version of the iPod Touch Software. If you have yet to get one of the paid versions you may wish to research and or see if a friend has a newer software on their touch and is able to connect to the networks you can not.
    5. WiFi Network security the hot spot is using. Sometimes old standard WEP security can prevent Touch from properly connecting and getting on the network. It is recommended if you know the owner or tech that runs it to try and use WEP 128 bit 13 character password or stronger more modern day wifi security.
If they are using 40/64 bit WEP. Try adding a $ and then the password that they provide you and see if you can connect.
If you get the time please visit your local Apple retail store so they can further look into the touch and test it on the store wifi network. If for some reason it does not work there and they determine possible HW service is needed they will speak about your in warranty options.

  • Ipod touch does not show up under Devices in iTunes, but it does in iPhoto

My iPod touch does not show up under Devices in iTunes, but it does show up under iPhoto.  Can anyone help troubleshoot this problem?
    Thank you for your help.

    try following the info here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1611
Error 1611: This error may indicate a hardware issue with your device.  Follow the steps  in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with a  known-good 30-pin Dock Connector cable, computer, and network to isolate  this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value (00 499901 064000 0)  can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured proxy or security software, such as FoxyProxy, can cause error 1611.    To troubleshoot third-party security software, follow these steps.

  • Ipod touch does not appear in tunes

My ipod touch does not appear in itunes when I plug it in.  I have tried everything I can think of, including erasing all content on the ipod, starting over, restarting the computer, etc.  When I restart the computer, sometimes iPHOTO comes up automatically, but iTunes shows no device connected.  What should I do next???  HELP!  (I just installed Snow Leopard OS, if that might have something to do with it)....

I have the latest iTunes version installed.  I tried all the USB ports.  I will take the pod home and try it in one of our computers there.  Other things plugged into the USB ports work fine.  Any idea why it would recognize the ipod as a camera, but not appear as an ipod in itunes?
