It didnt work for a few days, but after about a week when it dried it started working again ----> That was 4 years ago!

I'm using iPod touch for a year now. It was doing fine this morning but in the afternoon suddenly when I took it out of my bag, the screen was just black and it wouldn't turn on and stuff. So I thought it didn't have battery so I charged it didn't work. I plugged to the computer and it said iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before in can be used with iTunes.
Maybe my bag was little wet today but i don't think that is why.. since it wasn't that bed.. just some paper was wet and stuff..

Hi, I accidently got my Ipod touch a little wet (and I mean a little). Problem was I couldnt turn it off as the touch screen wet physcho and I couldnt confirm turn off. So I had to listen to my Ipod touch sizzling and couldnt do a darn thing about it.
Electronic can behave strangely with liquids depending on what liquids the electronics are exposed to. If the liquid can conduct electricity that can be bad if a power source remains as the liquid will cause a short that can remain permanent if not washed off later. A "dendrite" can form that will act as a lossy wire across the circuits if a voltage potential remain long enough. The dendrite forms only while the circuit is wet. The best bet is always to remove the battery and just let it dry out over a period of time. In the case of the iPods, they all have internal batteries so you cannot remove the power source. If it is plan tap water your iPod will survive based on the purity of the water. The harder the water the worse the problem. If it is a drink, like a soft drink, your iPod is in trouble. The sugars and citric acids are really bad.

The best way to see if you will live through the liquid is to let the unit dry out in a very dry place. The silica gel or rice idea will help as they dry out the air. Using a hair dryer is not a good idea as the heat can cause other issues. -
ok so i have an ipod touch 2nd generation and i have had it for many years. A few months ago it would not turn on and kept telling me to connect to itunes but the problem is my itunes library is set up at my dads house and i live with my mom. so i tried connecting it to my laptop to see if it would turn on. well it asked me if i wanted to restore it and i was really tried and couldnt think what restored meant so i clicked yes! and it wiped out my entire library! i was in tears because i had had $50 worth of music and apps that werent backed up! so i sent my ipod to my dad and got everything sorted out. but last night i tried to turn my ipod on and it wouldnt turn on so i just plugged it in to charge and left it. i came back to see if it was done and it wouldnt turn on and it told me to connect to the itunes store. i probably have about $50 worth of music that is not backedup this time! omg i want to cry! i am smart enough to not pulg in into my laptop because i know what restore means now! and i have tried holding the buttons down and everything and i let it charge all day! what do i do! please please help me! if i send it to my dads will all of my music that is not backed up sync into my library? or will i lose it all?!?! please please help me!! The image came up on my screen saying that I need to connect my iPod to iTunes, but I have a passcode, so it won't allow me to. And I want to try and turn it off, but my touch screen doesn't seem to be working either, so I can't even turn it off since you need to "slide to power off." HELP! My ipod touch 4g was disabled yeterday, and i tried it so many times it say to connect to iTunes. I don't want to because all of the discussions I've read say it will delete all of my data. I have lots and lots of pictures and apps I don't want too lose. Some of them are very valuableto me. I didn't get the chance to turn iCloud back up on, and I really want to. is there any way i can restore my ipod without erasing all of my data. PLEASE HELP, I REALLY NEED IT! By the way my Sleep/Wake button and my volume buttons don't work, so I use assistive touch, my home button works though.
You cannot enable without restoring it and losing everything you have failed to save to your computer.
This is one of the many reason it is very important tostore everything on your computer/cloud service. Nothing should only be on the ipod. -
i have the ipod touch 4th generation and the screen is white, i was going to charge it and it turned white. I have tried to reset it but the apple logo will not show up and it will not turn on! i just got it for christmas... can you please help?
The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. i am terribly confused i did an update on my ipod touch i took it out of my usb port i played on it 4 a bit i locked the screen and i wanted to unlock it when it flashed and now it wont turn on !!
- See if resetting the iod helps.
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next, connect the iPod to its syncing computer and if iTunes sees the iPod restore the iPo via iTunes.

So I had an ipod touch, got a lot of my music from my old CD's that i later threw away, then got a new computer and lost all my music on my itunes, but still have it all on my itouch. I just simply want to get my music from my itouch to my computer. I now have a iphone and it would be nice to put some of that music on my phone as well.
