My iPod touch has a blank screen and won't turn on. Help?

It went blank and I've tried to restart it (pressing the home and screen buttons) but that won't work either. I've connected it to a computer but the computer doesn't recognise it. It's been an hour and it still won't work. I even tried connecting it to the portable speaker which also charge and it won't do anyhting with that eiher.
also I'm not sure which operatine system it is. iSO something. he most recent one you can get on an iPod touch.

1; Do a hard rest by holding the buttons at least 15 seconds. Does the Apple logo come on?
2. Hold the power button down for at least 5 seconds. Do you see the battery symbol?
If the answer is no to both questions, you most likely have a hardware issue--possible bad battery.

  • My second gen iPod touch has a blank screen, and won't turn on or charge in an AC outlet. When plugged into iTunes, it is completely recognized and synced, but the screen remains blank and off. What can I do?

    Hello.
I recently woke up this morning to use my iPod Touch (2nd Gen) to find that it was completely unresponsive to both buttons and would not turn on. I had been using it the night before and had not charged it. Thinking the battery was drained, I plugged it into a wall outlet for two hours, and still no sign of life on the iPod. Plugging it into the computer, it immediately showed up in iTunes and synced normally, and even indicated it had nearly a full charge. Still, however, the screen showed nothing. I checked the lock and home buttons to see if it was stuck, but it was not. Does anyone have an idea of what this is? Do I need to get my iPod repaired? Any help would be appreciated.
I am running iOS 4.1, and am out of warranty coverage.
    Thanks,
    - Justin

  • My ipod touch has a white screen and it wont turn of

I was playing a gamem and all of a sudden the screen turned white! it wont even turn of. I tryed to put it into Dfu mode and held the top button to it didnt work. so right now i left the ipod on with the white screen and i hope it will run out of battery. So can u please reply to me as soon as posible. Thank you

Problem is I can't restore via iTunes, because when I plug the iPod touch into my laptop, it states it doesn't recognize the device - "USB device not recognized".  iTunes has no device listed for my iPod touch.
It was plugged in all day while I was at work, could that be the problem?
I tried to do it with the DVU method and it didn't work either.

  • My 4th generation ipod touch just a blank screen and won't do anything

The assistive touch little button is still on  and you can pull it up but it doesn't do anything... like making anything show up.  The screen is black but is on still.  I guess i will just let it die then recharge it?  I don't know I'm just really frustrated. Any help would be much appreciated

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I took out my iPod 5th gen to check the time and it was fine. Then I took it out 5 minutes later and it had a black screen so i clicked the home button. Nothing happened. I've tried the power button, the home button, holding down the power button, and plugging it into a charger and nothing has helped. It's still on a black screen and won't respond to anything I do. • My iPod Touch has a cracked screen and I think it's causing the home button to break. What do I do to see if it's fixable?

I dropped my 4th generation iPod Touch and the screen cracked where it's not protected- at the head phone jack. the cracks aren't huge, but right around the home button. My home button is starting to stop working. I know I can send it in and Apple will tell me how much it costs to fix, but how do I go about doing that?

Apple will exchange, as a out-ot -warranty repair,  your iPod for a refurbished one for $99, $149 or $199 depending upon the capacity. For how see:
