My ipod touch has an all white screen and i tried holding the home and lock button and it did the same thing?
My ipod touch has a white screen . so i followed most peoples suggestion on pressing the home and lock buttonat the same time til it turns back on and it still gave me a white screen no apple appeared.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

It will not power on or respond when I plug it into my PC via USB. I get an error on my PC stating that device attached to USB port is not recognizable. Can anyone help?

I tried to download an upgrade that was recommended by APPLE, the upgrade stopped halfway through and the iPod Touch was turned off, now the iPod Touch has a BLANK WHITE SCREEN and is UNRESPONSIVE to the COMPUTER

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

First, try to Reset your device:

my iPod touch 5th generation had white screened an it won't let me rest it by holding down the home button an the power button for ten seconds I've pulled it in to iTunes an its not being detected what can i do as its starting to over heat?
If you can't get it to shut down or restart when holding down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons and you can't get it recognized in iTunes to restore it, the iPod may have suffered a hardware failure and will need to go to Apple for service. Someone else here may have additional suggestions, though.
There is no "fifth generation" iPod touch, by the way, just for the sake of clarity; not yet, anyway.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

it went through the extracting software stage but then an error message saying that it encountered problems came up and it didn't restore.
