My ipod touch is being read as just a simple camera and will not let me access it, how does one go about fixing this problem? My screen has recently cracked and i need to retrieve my music from it but cant do so when my computer is reading it as a camera and only showing me its pictures.

Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Okay, so i know that this has probably been asked before, but every similar question i read was a little different from my specific problem. Maybe someone on here can help me. :)) *crosses fingers*
I've had my iPod Touch since summer, and I just got a new laptop for Christmas. So I want to transfer my iTunes over to my new computer, of course. I read the tutorial on Apple Support, but when I went to drag my Library over to my iPod, it was showing up in My Computer as a camera, and will not let me use it as disk space. I've also followed the steps to stop the automatic Camera pop-up when I plug in my iPod. Yes, my iPod is set up on manual, so disk use SHOULD be enabled, correct? I am positive that I also have the latest iTunes software. AND my USB ports are up to date.
Sorry for the overly-thorough problem description, but I have read too many of the similar posts, and I know all the usual suggestions. But seriously, any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Hi,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Sorry to say that you cannot use an iPod Touch as an "external" drive, unlike the "Classic" etc. which I believe have this feature.
To transfer your library you will have to back it up to disc(s), a different type of HD or use a network to send the files over.

Did you fail transfer all purchases to your computer before attmeoting to update? not good. ''You can redownload some itunes purchases in some contries:

IPOD touch says that it is connected to wireless but it will not let me on the internet

My ipod touch is acting up. The screen says that it is connected to to the wireless and it has a signal but when I open the Safari(Internet) app it will not open and will only open to google. My regular internet is working fine. Can any of you help me? Please and thank you.

My ipod reads Ipod disabled connect to itunes. When i connect to itunes a box appears on the computor screen and will not access the ipod and says it has a passcode and will not let me try to enter a passcode into the ipod? What can I do?

If you are unable to get the iPod into Disk Mode to restore it and instead get the red X symbol, it's a very good indication of a damaged hard drive inside of your iPod. This means you'll need to take or send your iPod in for repair or replacement.

Pop up states i'm being directed to a phishing site and to call "this" number, after I click on OK it just keeps popping up again and will not let me out of an endless loop

I am in an endless loop on my other iMac computer. I happened upon a page where it said "phishing site ahead" and then a pop up comes on screen telling me to call a certain number and then I click okay and of course do not call and it will not let me out of this endless loop. Shut down computer, quit Safari, but when I reopen Safari it still takes me to that same page and will not let me out or use any menu items or toolbar items. Just the same little popup box telling me to call a certain number with an OK button and I can't go anywhere or do anything on Safari. What can I do?

So this is what I was talking about, and the small popup window plus the larger Window stating "Reported Phishing website ahead" will not go away and I cannot use Safari anymore even after I shut down my computer, disconnected it, and then signed on again and reopened Safari, it still takes me to that page and I cannot get out of it.

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
