  • Ipod touch is disabled and will not sync  to our new computer.

My daughter's ipod touch is disabled and says connect to itunes. However, we have a new computer and the ipod has never been synced to it. The last computer it was synced to does not work. We have itunes on the current computer but I cannot get it to sync. What options do I have to resolve this?

Connect the iPod in recovery mode using the instructions in the Apple support document below and restore it.

  • Ipod with sad face and will not stay in disk mode but hdd works

    Hi,
I've got a problem with my ipod and i've tried everything to fix it and nothing works.
So basically after my ipod gave me the sad face I tried putting it into disk mode and that worked successfully! However after I plugged it to my computer, it would (after a few moments and windows detects something being plugged in) it resets itself and gives me the sad face again and following that a sign comes up saying Please Wait Very Low Battery.
I know its not a low battery problem since during disk mode the battery is full.
Other strange things is that in Diagnostics mode the HDSpecs section just shows just a bunch on meaningless characters and numbers for each of the specs listed. I thought that this may have just meant I had a broken harddrive so i got one of those ipod harddrive to IDE converters and plugged by ipod harddrive in (yes i now have opened the ipod). Strangely enough the ipod hard drive appears on my computer and works beautifully and i can read and write to the drive.
I went though the forums and found someone with the exact same problem and was solved:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7244984&#7244984
However the person never said how they solved it except that they followed the guide posted by Mitch 751 which I also tried to no success.
Does anyone have any ideas what else I can try?
    Cheers,
    Victor

You'll need to connect the device to your iTunes library in recovery mode and restore it to factory settings.  See this article for instructions on getting your iPod Touch into Recovery Mode.

  • My ipod touch go of and will not work untill i plug it back in to a ac power

my ipod touch go of and will not work untill i plug it back in to a ac power

You likely have a hardware problem like a dead battery.  To rule out a software problem try the following in order:
    - Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My ipod states its disabled and will not function now ...  please help

ipod states its disabled and will not work or allow me to reset from itunes?  any suggesstions?

You are going to have to restore it. Scince itunes does not connect to ur ipod because its disabled you are gonna have to put your ipod in DFU mode. Basicaly u have to hold the power and home button atthe same time for 10 second then release power button and keep holding home button for about 15 seconds ( all this you do it while ipod is connected to the computer) if it works, itunes will detect ur ipod in recovery mode and will give you the option to restore it.

  • My mini ipod will not go into disk mode. What should I do?

When ever I try to put it into disk mode it will either not go into disk mode for a few seconds or it will not go into disk mode at all.

  • 20G iPod will not go into disk mode

    Hopefully someone can help.
I have a 2.5 year old 20g iPod with black / white screen.
I have the unhappy icon showing on the screen. I have tried the 5R's with no success and have been advised to go into disk mode in order to restore via iPod updater etc.
I cannot achieve disk mode and my PC (and other will not recognise).
It also makes a clicking noise booting up, surely the hard drive cannot be faulty after such a relativly short time.
    Any help is much appreciated..........Dave

  • HT1363 My ipod click wheel will not go into disk mode.  All I get is the red circle with the X in it

The only thing my ipod will do is display the red circle with the X in it.  I can not put it in disk mode, it won't work.  It's the 160 GB classic with the click wheel.  Is there anything else I can do to make it work again?

If you are unable to get the iPod into Disk Mode, the Hard Drive is likely damaged and beyond repair. You'll probably want to have it replaced either by Apple or a third party service center.

  • IPod Touch is disabled, won't connect to iTunes and will not go into recovery mode.

Hello! I had lost my iPod touch for several months and finally found it. However, I didn't remember the passcode. Now it's disabled and says to connect to iTunes. iTunes is saying that I must enter in the passcode before it can connect. I tried following apple's instructions on putting it in recovery mode, but when the home button is held down, only the apple logo appears until the disabled screen comes up again.
    Any suggestions?

    Try DFU mode.

My sons ipod touch says ipod is disabled connect to itunes.  When I connect to itunes it says it has a password and can not access the ipod.  I am completely ok with restoring it but I seem to have no options.  I updated itunes to newest version, did the restart on the ipod nothing has helped so far. It is not brand new (almost 3 years old) but I can not afford to replace it.  Do I have any options?

  • The screen on my daughter's iPod Touch is cracked and will not power on. I cannot unlock it, I do not believe it was synched with any computer. I would like to transfer her stuff from the old to the new.

Any help is appreciated on how to unlock an iPod touch that has no screen. All I want to do is transer her apps/pics/music to her new iPod touch.

    - What happens when you connect the iPod to its syncing computer and try to transfer purchases and other things? Error messages?
    - Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
