My ipod touch is neither switching on nor its charging

hi
i'm not able to switch on my ipod touch

- Charge the iPod for a half hour then connect to your computer.  It it appears in iTunes, restore the iPod.
- If not seen see if restting the iPod will make it visible so you can restore the iPod.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If still not seen, plave the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore the iPOd.  For recovery mode see:

Hello and good afternoon, my IPod Touch is neither in windows explorer nor in iTunes to be seen. When I turn my IPod on, i shall connect it to my computer; but when I do so, nothing happens. What can I do, please ???

Take a look at the troubleshooting steps provided by Apple in this support article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
    Hope those help.
Your iPod touch will never appear in Windows Explorer, by the way. It doesn't have the "disk mode" that the older iPods did.
    Regards.

  • My ipod touch won't switch on, what can i do?

i bought an ipod touch 3 days ago in portugal, i charged it today for the first time for about 8 hours and then i took it out to listen to it and it doesn't switch on.. i have tried doing everything such as restarting, and it still doesn't work. what can i do ?

    Hi
Firstly was the ipod sealed in the wrapper untouched ?
If the answer is yes, then what you need to do is hunt for the customer support number on the apple store web site.
Have patience because it took me a while to find a number to call.
Or you can ring the first number you find and ask to be transfered.
    Explain to them the problem,
If the ipod is less then 14 days old since you bought it from a store, then you are entitled to have it replaced, they will sort a courier to pick it up.
But chances are if you didnt buy it from a registered stockist, it wont happen
If not dont worry, you are covered by warranty, they will send a courier to pick up your ipod and have it fixed,
Chances are they cant fix it so they will send you a brand new one.
I had the same problem, it seems that the first models they kicked out had a few hardwear faults.
    Hope this helps Red

If after you charge it for about three hours and it only last about five minutes the battery is probably dead or there could be another hardware problem.  I would go back to the Apple store and ask them specifically how can it be OK if the fully charged battery only lasts five minutes.

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Touch (5th Gen) Battery Won't Hold Charge

After the last update my iPod Touch 5th Gen will not hold a charge. I haven't had any problems with it until this 8.1.1 update. Yesterday I charged the battery up to full charge and  used it briefly to listen to music in my car however here it is the next day and the battery is dead again. It is NOT playing while not in my car. Meaning nothing should be running the battery down because it's not being used.  I know it's not playing because the volume is set to half way so I'd undoubtedly hear it if it was playing.  It just won't hold a charge and for no apparent reason. Any suggestions?

  • IOS 7 doesn't work on iPod touch 4g, so does the mean its the end for this device? Or are they going to make updates specially for lower devices an apps that are compatible ??

iOS 7 doesn't work on iPod touch 4g, so does the mean its the end for this device? Or are they going to make updates specially for lower devices an apps that are compatible ??

Which apps remain compatible will be up to the individual developers who sell those apps. There will be no further iOS updates, but those aren't really necessary to continue to use and enjoy your device. I still have an iPad 1 running on iOS 5, and it is fully functional.
The App Store has an app called VintApps 3.1.1 that is specifically geared toward iOS 3.1, however, you would probably be able to run most of those apps on your iPod, and considering that there will be a rather large market for iOS 6 apps users, it is not likely that you will see a significant reduction in choices any time soon.
It is not the end for the device in any sense except that it is at it's ultimate iOS level. And again, I have an iPad that is at it's ultimate iOS level (iOS 5), and I get new apps all the time that work for both my iPad and my iPhone that runs iOS 6.1.1
    No need to fret....
    Cheers,
