My IPod Touch is not on time.

Hello everybody. I've got an old IPod Touch, properly fuctioning, except that is not on time. How can I do? I tried to create a login on ITunes to synchronize, but I haven't got a credit card, so I can't... Sorry, can you help me please? Thx, Leily.

- Older iPods/iOSs do not automatically sync time via wifi.
- They do sync time when you sync the iPod.
- You can manually set time as described by gail above.
- You can create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

  • My 5th Gen iPod touch does not keep time and the bluetooth will not turn on. Full restore did not fix.

Recently my 5th generation iPod Touch stopped keeping time. As long as the screen stays on, it will stay accurate, but once it "sleeps" the time reverts to the last accurate time it had. If I go to Settings>General>Date&Time> and turn Set Automatically off and on, it will catch up, but just for as long as the screen stays on. Not too friendly for battery life that way. Also, maybe unrelated, the Bluetooth function will not turn on. When I try to turn it on, I just get a constant spinning wheel.
I have tried everything from a simple restart to a full device wipe back to factory default. No change. I took it in to the Genius bar this afternoon. They tried a diagnostic and another wipe. Then they said they didn't know and I could pay $150 to replace it. Not a bad deal, but not what I wanted to hear.
    Any ideas?

Try DFU mode and then restore again to factory settings/new iPod

    Did you try here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
Next try on another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.

The ipod is restored, but cloud not downloading any of my messages and pictures, and the other files that iCloud claims to back up?
How do I put these on my restored itouch?
    Thanks everyone

What messages? What app? The backup includes Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS),
What photos? How did the photos get on the iPod
The backup only includes photos in the iPod's camera roll album.

apple wont give me a new phone cause I broke the screen and I replaced it my self.
Correct. When you did that, you voided all warranty/support, & forfeited the right to an out of warranty replacement.
There was nothing wrong with the screen I bought,
And, exactly, how do you know that? Since Apple DOES NOT sell iPhone parts, there is no official source for genuine parts. Thus, many on the market are counterfeit & produce nothing but problems.
    Good luck.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Touch 3G not recognized by iTunes AGAIN

I have gone through the steps to restore contact between Windows XP and my iPod Touch. The two times I have done this were successful. After approximately 2 weeks, iTunes will no longer see my iPod. ALL of the instructions to completely remove all Apple software from my computer, and reinstall, have been followed to the letter. The iPod will charge through the USB cable, the computer makes the beep that a device has been connected, but iTunes will just not see my device.
This problem is extremely aggravating. What is causing this to happen? Is there someone in the know that can give me some insight? I am very impressed with my first Apple gadget, so much so that I am considering an iPad. But, I don't want to add to my misery!!
    Any help will be appreciated!

Sorry that you are still experiencing problems with the iPod Touch. Let's try some other stuff:

it says that the ipod and all its contents will be deleted and filled with music from her current library.
Normally when it says this, it means that the iPod is synced with another machine. It's very strange as you listed that it isn't.
In this instance I would restore the iPod touch and begin as normal. I assume that as this is the iPods main library, that all it's current content (music, video, books, apps etc) are stored on the computer?
If this is the case then it will be no problem resyncing them back on to it. This will for sure fix the problem - although it's disappointing no to be able to tell you what has caused it.
    So - to restore:
    1) Connect iPod to iTunes
    2) Click on your iPod from the column on the left under devices
    3) When the iPods home screen comes up you should have the an area in the middle which gives you 2 options: 1 to check for updates and 1 to restore. Click on restore.
    4) iTunes will now prompt you with the message about losing all the content on your iPod. As long as you have all the content on your iPod on this computer then I wouldn't worry as you will be able to resync it right back on there. At this point anything that is on your iPod that is not on your computer will be lost.
    5) iTunes will now restore your iPod to factory settings. When it's finished you can set up your iPod again.
Before doing this you can check your iTunes to see if it has made a back-up of your iPod. If this is the iPod's primiary library/computer the it should be backing up the device every time you connect it. You can check for the back-ups by looking here on your mac/pc:
iTunes > Preferences > Devices > You should see your iPod in the box along with the date and time it was last backed up.
    Example:
If there is a backup you should be able to restore the iPod to it's most recent back up once iTunes has restored it to factory settings.
I hope this has helped - give it a try and let me know. It should solve the problem...it might take you 30 minutes to do it but it usually fixes most things.
    Best of luck..

  • My iPod touch is not connecting to iCloud account, under iCloud settings has old email account and username that I have since updated and are working correctly on my iPad, any idea how I can reset this?

My iPod touch is not connecting to my iCloud account, under iCloud settings it  has my old email account and username that I have since updated and are working correctly on my iPad, any idea how I can reset this on the iPod or otherwise? This old account info keeps coming back on my iPod and messing up access to my apple account and now the icloud. last time a system restore needed to be done to fix it....

It won't give me the option to sign out of the old account, it's that light grey color that you can't click on. And since it has the old email address that it's telling me to go into to verify the account, I can't actually change it... I'm stuck

  • My iPod Touch is not working with Bose SoundDock.  How can I fix it?

My iPod Touch is not working with Bose DoundDock Series II.  Can anyone suggest how I can get these 2 to work together?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • The Music app on my ipod touch will not open?

The Music app on my ipod touch will not open, it loads but the sceen is always blank and then closes the music app and goes back to my list of apps.. what do i do? any ideas?

I have the same problem since a couple days ago, I will try to refrain from swearing or slagging on Apple, got a few questions for you, Gerbrandt, or anyone else who's had this problem and worked around it by means of a 3rd party app:
1-Since using panamp have you used your ipod in any docks successfully? (ex: I have a JVC car deck, a Klipsch dock and the Yamaha dock for my home theatre, all will be worthless if I can't resurrect my iPod as a music player)
2-Has using panamp done anything to help the original Apple music app to work or has it stayed dead?
3-Do you have any smart playlists?  Like others with the 64GB model I have many many songs (that's the WHOLE point of the large capacity iPod, isn't it?) and I found that the more smart playlists I had the worse the apple music app behaved back when it was still working.
I'll check out panamp tonight, hopefully that will stop me from curb-stomping my iPod.
Anyone know whether an Apple "genius" has access to any sort of debugging facilities that would make it worth visiting the store for help on this matter?  (ex: if they have root access to check for corrupt song database, or debug logs of some sort, or can do any direct manipulation of commands over the dock connector).
It sure would be nice to know why this happens, I have about 14,000 songs locked in iTunes now and many hours of time invested in ripping my CD collection but I don't want to buy a replacement iPod only to have this happen to it too.  It's annoying enough the 4 hours it takes to resynch after a system restore (which in the end did nothing to resolve the original issue).

  • IPod Touch 4G Not Turning On or Connecting to iTunes

I have no idea why, but my iPod Touch will not turn on. When I press the Home button, it will show the low power screen (but only when connected to a USB cable). Holding Home does nothing. Holding Home and whatever the button on the top is results in a brief white flash, then it goes completely black. It won't show up in iTunes, and I've tried everything I can find on Apple's Support pages. I've tried plugging the iPod in both before and after starting up iTunes, I've tried holding the Home button down before plugging it into the USB cable, and I've tried changing where the USB cable is plugged into the computer (despite it being the same port I've used for the past four months, with no real problems).
I'm not sure what, if anything, else I can do, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd tried soft-resetting several times (had a similar thing happen before, and that always worked). Don't know why, but I tried holding the Home button while plugging in the USB cable today (had tried it yesterday, with no luck, but I figured why not try again) and it seems to have worked. Read in another post about it shutting off for about 24 hours because of processor overload, but since I usually don't have more than one app running at a time, even in the background, I didn't think that could be it. Clearly I was wrong. Thanks for the assistance, though.

  • My iPod touch is not charging. HELP?!

My iPod Touch is not charging or starting at all. i've tried all the USB ports I own, my docking station, i've tried resetting it, but nothing's seeming to work. I got this last year as a replacement for my other and this is the first problem i've had with it... I think it's 2nd gen. The empty/charging battery icon comes on every time I press a button when it's plugged in, but nothing else happens, it's been like this for 5 days now. Does anyone have any idea's how to make it charge? It's also not showing on my iTunes at all either. Can anyone help?!?!

I was a bit miffed to learn that my new iPod Touch does not support recharging via firewire-type connections. Indeed, I didn't even realise that there was any difference between the dock connector I use via USB with my computer and the dock connector connected to my car's audio system. But there is a difference, and I can no longer rely on my iPod to keep me entertained for long car trips.
The solution I've found is not cheap, but works. You need to get a third-party charge converter. I ordered mine from the people who invented it, in Sweden: http://www.ridax.se. I also understand that they will soon be available from CableJive (http://cablejive.com/charge_converter.html) in the States.
