My iPod touch is not showing up in iTunes and doesn't have the charging battery screen. Should I send it in for inspection?

I need it so I can manage my storage. Can anybody help please? Or at lease give me advise?

Try unplugging the USB from both ends (PC & iPod) and restarting iTunes. If that fails, restart the PC. Happens to me ALL THE TIME.

Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...

the device has just installed necessary drivers to microsoft upon plugging in
like a say though, not showing up in itunes still
before it recently had this failure, it had shown up as corrupted and that it needed restoring (but i was holding off, as i manually managed all music and was hoping for a way to back it all up, to no avail)
first time posting here, would appreciate a quick answer because tempted to just click the 'restore device defaults' option

Unplugit then replug it and that should work. If not unplug your iPod , on your computer right click my computer>manage>Services>iPod service>right click stop service> Then click restart service.
Pug your iPod back in, and that should fix it.

Here is what I know/can remember. My iPod has not worked in 3 months! Not sure at what point it stopped but it worked fine for a year. Now when I plug it in it charges just fine just will not show up in iTunes. Sometimes it shows up as an unknown device on my computer and in the hardware device section shows up as unknown device. Thats all I got. I have tried all kinds of troubleshooting. I have took each little peice off and then reinstalled numerous times. I have even restored my computer back to square one. Still not working! I want to cry. I just want to listen to my podcasts again. They are downloading into Itunes just can't get the Ipod Touch to show up in iTunes...willing to try anything! Please help if you can! I have a 16GB and use XP with SP3. I assume all my hardware is good to go since it worked before and it charges through the USB port!

After updating iTunes to 11.1.14.62 my 3 of my 4 devices will not show up in iTunes. I have two iPod touch devices, an iPhone 4, and an old iPod Shuffle. The only one that shows up is the iPod Shuffle. Everything was fine until this latest update. I've checked with other people and they're having the same issue. I have Windows 8.1 64 bit.

IPod Touch 4g not showing up in iTunes?

Hello, I really need some help. Until recently my iPod touch 4g is not showing up in iTunes. I've been to the page on Apple's site that helps with this, and after several tries of each step, I cannot get it to work still. It comes up on my computer with it's name, and it knows it's an Apple Device, it just won't come up in iTunes. Help? :S

plug in your device.
Ok, I got mine working by doing the following.
Go to Start, right click my computer, properties, device manager
Portable devices or USB (Wherever you see the Apple Device)
Right click, update driver, browse folders, then navigate to,
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. (if your on 32bit)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. (if your 64bit)
select the drivers folders and then windows should automatically pick it up as a usb device.
Worked on my new ipone 4s and new ipod touch 4g

New IPod Touch will not show up on iTunes

I just purchased an iPod Touch for my son. When we turned it on, it asked to connect to iTunes. I then started iTunes and was told to update it, which I did, after which I connected the IPod. iTunes would not recognize the iPod Touch. We then uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, with the same problem. So effectively I now have a new iPod Touch in the first phase of getting it to work.
I've checked the drivers, and they are fine
I've checked the Apple services and they are running fine
I've shut down nearly all programs that commence on startup, and the iPod will still not show up
I've used all USB ports on my computer, still no response.
I've rebooted the computer numerous times, it still does not show up.
Thanks in advance for any advise that you can give.

so I start up my computer I have an Ipod Touch 3 generation and it was working fine before originally then all of a sudden the icon dissappears off of itunes. not only that but when I try to put photos on it, it doesn't work it gives me an error message that it cannot sync it tells me to try again or it has been disconnected and it hasn't at all the ipod is connected. Do not overlook the Additional Information paragraph. It applies to Snow Leopard only.
Also, downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.

Ipod Classic does not show up in iTunes and will not sync

My ipod classic does not show up as a device in iTunes. It was working just a week or so ago, but each time I plug it in the screen says connected, then switches to Ejected, you can now disconnect, then says OK to disconnect and then goes to the home screen. IPod Touch will not show up in iTunes anymore

Hello. I have had my iPod Touch since 2011 and just recently I could not get it to show up in iTunes when I put the USB cable in to sync it. What ends up happening instead is a window appears showing my Apple iPod. I can click it and go into the Internal Storage which only shows my pictures and videos taken with the camera, but no music.
So I tried almost all of the troubleshooting steps here on iTunes support (except for starting all over erasing all songs and data because I am not ready to do that and I do not believe it would do anything with the synchronization process), and unfortunately nothing has worked. I tried the running as admin and compatibility mode and it still just comes up with that window whenever I connect. I ran the diagnostics and the iPod is not showing up (the only red X). I have Windows 8. Is there anything I can do to make iTunes recognize that the iPod is connected to the laptop?

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

This is the first time that this happens and im very confused because it also doesnt show that the ipod is charging either. And ive tried different wires and they all did the same so i know thats not the problem.
