My ipod touch is showing the connect to itunes, however, when i plug it into the computer nothing happens, what can I do?
My Ipod Touch is telling me to connect to itunes, however when I do nothing happens, what can i do?
Try:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
Also try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

i have entered the wong password on mi iPad 2 too many times and it says disabled connect to iTunes so when i plug it into the computer , iTunes says pad locked cannot sync until you unlock the iPad but i don't remember the password nor can i put it in
You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
This will tell you how to restore
iTunes: Backing up, updating or restoring iOS software
If you cannot restore that way, you may have to use recovery mode
iPad: Unable to update or restore -
so recently i wanted to load my friends music onto my phone because my laptop broke and i had no other way to get my music. i loged out of my itunes so the music could load without any problems. i tryed to so an update on the softwear today and my phone says i need to conncect to itunes, but when i try the only option is to restore it! that would mean all my things on my phone GONE. please help i cant live without a phone for long but i dont want to have to restore it. pleaseee please tell me somone can help.
The problem is your friend's music does not belong to you. It is owned by your friend.
I'm afraid you cannot do what you are trying to do. Restoring the iPhone is what you would have to do.
In the future, put your music on the computer and transfer it to the iPhone, not the other way. -
I updated my ipod but it failed....
Now my Ipod touch is showing a connect to itunes image. When I connected it to itunes it said that I need to "Restore it". But I have video on it that I really, really need. How do I do this without loosing all of my footage and photos?
Please help!?You do not. You have to restore the iPod. You can then restoe from backup and get to where you were when the the last backups was made.

If still not recognized in iTunes, try the tips mentioned in this article:

ive just updated my ipod touch 4th gen, but the bat went flat now its just a white screen and when i plug it into my laptop nothing happenes
Hello,
This will fix your problem!
To put the device in DFU mode,
1. Connect the device to iTunes
2. Hold both the power button and the home button down simultaneously
3. After 10 seconds, release the power button but leave the home button pressed
4. iTunes should then recognize that the device has entered DFU mode and ask to restore.
That should get you back on your way.

Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the iPod On... -

My iPod shuffle is not being recognized by my computer. It is flashing orange and when plugged in with the original USB cable nothing happens to show the computer recognizes it.
Flashing orange usually means it is being recognized by the computer. The flashing means do not disconnected, because the shuffle's "disk" is mounted.
In iTunes (with the shuffle connected), when you look in the sidebar (left side of window), under DEVICES, the iPod is not shown there? Does it say DEVICES in the sidebar? -
For some reason, my iPod doesnt power up when I connect it to my computer, but it does if I plug it into my wall charger.
I need to restore it as it went into recovery mode, what is it that doesn't allow it to connect to my computer and what can I do to fix it?You can re-download for free (As with the free music the bill just reads .00) .
Try it with one and see for yourself.
Oh yes, spare yourself future grief since this doesn't apply to music and video, get an external HD to back up iTunes and use it! -
Hi can anyone help. Itunes thinks my ipod touch (3rd gen, no camera) is my sons device. When I tried to sync it to back it up, Itunes thinks its my sons device and has put all his stuff on my ipod. I have lost all my contacts and notes. Anyone know how to put this right please?
The last time you synced your device with iTunes, iTunes automatically created a what's referred to as an iOS backup. This iOS backup contains your contacts, calendars, notes etc (not media files however).
You would need to restore your iPod to factory settings and when asked by iTunes whether you want to restore it from backup, select the backup created at the time when you synced your device and iTunes deleted your data (should be the last backup entry unless you synced more than once).
Check the "Restoring your new iPod tourch from a previous backup" subsection under "Restoring your iOS device" in this support document:

My iPhone 4S suddenly quit working. The screen will only show when it is plugged into power. It will not connect with my service provider. Its like the phone has been reset or something.
Sounds like you need to bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.

ITunes upgrade download will not resume
Since the beginning iTunes has had one glaring failure in the upgrades. The downloads will not resume. I cannot even pause without it starting from scratch. Torrent technology is old stuff. But evidently too new for iTunes. For testing do what the pi
