hi all, my ipod touch is very slow, it also often disconnects from apps unexpectedly, it has been slow since its screen broke last summer, i bought it 1 month before its screen broke. do you know whats the problem? anyone there to help?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • IPod touch runs very slow on my computer

I recently purchased the 3rd Gen iPod touch and so far it has been running extremely slow when plugged into my computer. I installed all the latest updates and it's still running slow. On my 5th Gen iPod, songs were changed and deleted instantly. Any suggestions?

Same problem, although it used to be much quicker, I am unsure of when it became so slow.
It's taking about 4 seconds a song to copy to my Touch, while an older Nano takes less than a second per song on the same computer. The same Touch hooked up to my Macbook Pro is very quick. Just on my PC running Windows 7 64 is it slow.
Also oddly iTunes has an issue playing music when the Touch is syncing now. It pauses briefly every few seconds. Never used to do that either.
Wondering if I the last update did this?

  • IPod Touch 4g VERY slow wifi

    Hi
I have recently bought a new ipod touch 4g to replace my old 2g ipod touch, the main reason for this is because it is supposed to be faster, granted the internet speed doesnt have much to do with the processor
But i noticed the internet was slower than usual, so i put my new and old ipod side to side and used the Freeappaday app (because it accesses internet immediately and takes a while to start up even on the fastest of connections) and on the last attempt the 2g took 10 seconds and the 4g took 30 seconds, if there was only like 5 seconds between them i wouldnt be too bothered, but it takes about 20 seconds just to load the achievements in game center!
Is anybody else having this problem? Should i take the ipod to an apple store or send it in for repair?
    Thanks
    Ben

"m have the same problem. Simultaneous, side-by-side download speed test: iPod Touch 4G = 0.97 Mbps, iPod Touch 2G = 9.2 Mbps. I have a Netgear RangeMax WNR834bv2 N-router. I've changed the router speed from "up to 270 Mbps" to "up to 130 Mbps", but no change. I've changed the channels on the router, but no change. I've powered cycled the router a million times, but no change. I've reset the network settings on the iPod, but no change. What are the differences in the wireless antenna between the 2G and 4G that could be affecting download speeds? I've taken my iPod Touch 4G to Starbucks, and my download speeds are much closer to my 2G. My wireless router and Touch 4G are not playing nice.

  • Ipod touch is very slow, but I don't have a lot of apps?

I have a 4th gen Ipod touch, and lately it's been extremely laggy. I do not have many apps, and there is still around 45-50GB free on it. I use it primarily for music and it takes up 60-70% of what's on the Ipod. Whenever I try to play a song, I have to press the music app(oh whatever you call it the place where the songs go) at least 3 times before it actually displays a list of my songs. The attempts prior to that show the layout, but everything is completeky blank. And once I manage to play a song, it plays only the song I selected and then stops, making me repeat the whole ritual again. I've read other discussions on this topic, but the solutions seem to be restore it and don't overload it with apps... So I'm wondering why it's being like this. I've had it since June 2011 and is this a normal Ipod's lifespan (if it is that is extremely disappointing considering the amount of money paid)?

turn off the ipod and turn it back on after 5mins
Maybe do a factory reset and just transfer all your music back from itunes

If it is still under warranty take it to an Apple Store, or in any case call AppleCare (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 for list of international phone numbers) to see if they can help you. They may be able to help you with repairs if it is a physical problem with the home button.

Cured the problem! Reinstalled an earlier version of itunes from oldapps.com (version 10) now everything works as it should. I would suggest that if you are experiencing these problems that you do the same. I must say that it is a brave business decision on behalf of apple to effectively lock out all windows 7 users from their products and sales channels and I can only wish them luck in this very shortsighted policy.

  • Why is my ipod touch 4G unusually slow?

So I have a 4th generation ipod touch. I updated it to IOS 5 from IOS 4.3.5 a couple months ago. It's been really, really, slow and laggy to the point where it's something I despise! I upgraded from 4.3.5 because my ipod was pretty slow and applications always crashed; I thought IOS 5 would fix all that, but, I was wrong!    With IOS 5 my ipod's battery life ***** (I charge it to 100% and then 15 minutes later it tells me there is only 20% left), it's super laggy (closing out of apps is painful and I have lots of problems with the lock screen. The screen freezes all the time), Safari is slow as a snail and so is other web-based applications, and apps crash constantly. Simply swiping from screen to screen is painful!   Then I upgraded to IOS 5.1 hoping it would fix things but...no...
I've tried a clean restore to factory settings, which didn't help at all. I make sure I close the apps I'm not using. I do not have so many apps or music. My wifi/internet connection is quite good. I don't know what is going on!
My ipod is second hand from my cousin and it WAS jailbroken, but not anymore. My warranty is also up. I've noticed other people have been experiencing the same issues but the thing is, my friend also has a 32GB 4th gen ipod touch on IOS 5.1 that runs smoothly and is very snappy and responsive, unlike mine. She has WAY more apps, photos, and music than I. She's had her ipod for longer than I have.
So does anyone know what is going on? Any other ideas? Thanks a lot!

Maybe the solution is that you iPod is slow is because you are not closing your apps after you use them. To do this you must:
    1. Press the Home Button to get out of that app
    2. You will return to the Home Screen
    3. Click the Home Button twice, (do this quite fast, But not TOO fast)
    4. A bar with all your apps that you have come out of will be on the bottom of the screen
    5. Hold down one of those apps
    6. They will start to "jiggle"
    7. A little red circle will be beside all of the "jiggling" apps
    8. Press that little red circle and those apps will close (NOTE: This is NOT deleting your apps)
    9. Now you apps are closed NOT deleted
    10. Your iPod will now speed up in: Browsing, downloading, syncing and much more
    11. (Bonus) - To DELETE an application do the same thing ( But not clicking the Home Button twice) and all of your apps which you downloaded will "jiggle" and there will be an black circle with an X in it, click that X to DELETE that app and a dialog will pop up and say: "Do you really want to delete this app?" If you want to: Click yes.
And that is how to speed up your iPod
Bonus) - is how to DELETE an App
    Thank You,
    Apple 5

  • IPod Touch 5g A1421 Slow Wifi on certain Apps

    Greetings,
Im still trying to get used to my brand new iPod (1 month since i bought it), but i just cant sort one annoying thing. I bought it so i can replace my iPod Touch 4g, that was constantly crashing while playing Podcasts with the Apple App (Tiesto's, Hardwell and some other pods). This new one doesnt have that problem, but it seems to download the podcast at a very slow rate,it takes 1 hour or so to download a 80mb podcast (15mb internet speed), while on my 4g it took 10 minutes. It also cant play any Twitch streams on high rate, because it freezes every 2 seconds, after a waiting of 1 min. Out of those two apps, everything its ok, browser and YouTube loads quick and without any problem. Speedtest shows 10mb/sec. Im using a DLINK DI-524 Router, wich only supports the 2.4ghz band in G mode (guess it also supports B, since that one its older). On my college it works slow as well (300mb internet speed). Its just my iPod btw, iPad 2 and iPod touch 4g works great at dowloading/watching Twitch.
What can i do to sort this out? I have performed everything that its listed (reset network, factory reset, reset the router, change to channel 11, using a 8.8.8.8 DNS on my iPod wifi conection, etc). Im thinking on buying a newer router.

Anyone? I contacter apple support and asked me to bring the iPod for tests, and it gives the same results there. It will take 2 weeks to get a replacement.
